Oh , a ft style snide comment lol. Well as a viewer that hasnt read the books, (yet) I think theyre doing well with the series. With these conversions you have to take some liberties.

It's fine, it's just a little throwback and with Hot Pie mentioning Arya there might be another little side story on Brienne's quest.

Cant understand why they are breaking for a week. Anyone know why it isn't on next week?

Memorial Day or something in the US.

As previously stated changes are fine and understandable, personally I really like that they have developed Oberyn's character a lot more, it's a shame they didn't with the Mountain, and then just put in a gratuitous scene of him disembowelling weaklings (for fun?) was pretty poor, they could at least have showed him killing someone strong.

In the books he's travelling around slaughtering smallfolk. It's the same thing just in 30 seconds. This is why everyone sighs every time one of you mentions "but that didn't happen in the books" or "why didn't they do this". Half the time it's an oversight and you don't realise what they're doing.

It wasn't to show his prowess, it was to show he's a heartless, murder-monster with no conscience.

I thought hot pie was her dinner? Shes with padraig? So is the little fat bread wolf making dude hot pie?

Yes lol Hot Pie is the name of the pudgy baker dude. He was Arya's buddy last season but like he said, the Brotherhood Without Banners sold him/left him at the inn. Brienne and Pod stop at the same in (this doesn't happen in the book) and it seems like it's basically a vehicle for Brienne to now know Arya is still alive.

I forgot you are not allowed to have an opinion on here.

Anyway, I have stopped worrying about the book, because there is no way they can make the next series faithful to the books, there will be a lot of chopping and changing and combining story lines, as, by my calculation, in the book there are 16 storylines happening simultaneously and a lot of new characters introduced. But it will still annoy me when they add in some gratuitous sex/violence/torture when they could be adding depth to some of the characters that have been left out.

Phube watched the uncut version where Hot Pie and Brienne got it on...

I didn't realize I was stopping you from having an opinion by ridiculing it in the fashion it deserves?

And we'll all yawn in unison while you moan.

Bit slow last night, looking forward to this trial by combat though, assuming Phube doesn't tell us who wins at some point this week.

I didn't say it wasn't in the book, or it didn't happen like that in the book, I said it was poorly done.

The scene didn't make any sense, why were they attacking him? they didn't seem to want to, weren't they in chains? It was clearly happening in and around King's Landing like he was training, there was no threat otherwise Cersei wouldn't have wandered up.

It was a shit scene and seemed to serve just to increase the blood and guts ratio of the show, it would have been better to have the big reveal at the trial by combat, we don't need to see him disembowel people to know he is a heartless killer, when we have Bronn too scared to face him, and Oberyn going on about him killing children and raping his sister with their blood still on his hands.

Even though I've not read the books I think it's pretty obvious who is going to win.

As has been said, bit of a slow filler episode last time out. Building up for the season finale, I guess.

Well yeah I know what I expect to happen, doesn't mean it will happen like that though.

Maybe if you don't want to know you should be nicer to the people that have read the books :P

At the trial, Oberyn knows he can't match the Mountain for strength so seduces him, and starts bumming him, then tries to kill him with a donkey punch, but that just enrages the mountain who flips him over and is about to kill him with his massive cock, when the ghost of Ned Stark rises up and delivers a long speech about peace and tolerance and why can't we all just be friends, then they all hug and kiss and and peace breaks out in King's Landing, then Dany turns up naked on a dragon and burns them all to death the end - edit beaten to it by Babylon

That's true, there'll defo be a twist or two.

I don't think it was great myself but it's just a snippet to show what a brute he is. This is just an example of one of those little things that barely matters yet seems to invite loads of criticism (not just from you).

For the record I assumed they were prisoners or criminals that were sentenced to death.

What do you think is going to happen out of interest? I like seeing predictions. Obviously I won't confirm ot deny anything :D

But it does matter, when you get absorbed in something and they just throw in a scene that makes no sense it takes you out of it.

Admittedly it is different with GoT, compared to most shows, because I know where it is going, so I often wonder why they did something. My problem is that I feel that certain scenes are just gratuitous and unnecessary, a lot of the brothel scenes and sex scenes I find cheap and tacky, and the scene with the Mountain felt the same. It turns out they were prisoners, according to Wiki, which still makes no sense, why would he be sent to kill meaningless prisoners, which were armed, when he is going to be championing Cersei.

It has also spoiled the big reveal of the Moutain at the trial, the man is a beast, incidentally played by an Icelandic Strongman, who finished 2nd in this years world's strongest man, the third actor to play him, and instead of seeing him for the first time towering over Oberyn, you see him pissing about with prisoners.

Oberyn to take him down and go off to celebrate in the only way he knows how (possibly involving more Lannister death). Tyrion to not get away scot-free however as I'm sure there will be a twist and Cersei will do her utmost to make sure he doesn't.

Plus, the new chap that's playing The Mountain, can barely speak English apparently, so his speaking parts will be small and more than likely dubbed. He's Icelandic.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see Pancake had mentioned this above.

I'll say this again... I have not and will not ever reveal any spoilers!

I will say this in a non-spoilery way as possible - You cannot predict GoT, don't even try!

Tonight from 9pm could be Farage porn. I can't wait.

A genuine expectation of winning the European elections.
