I'm glad I didn't bother to watch series eight from what I've heard. I'll read more of his books. To be honest only about half of the books are decent: some are dull and you're left unsatisfied after finishing them. I hope the new books diverge significantly from the TV series after hearing all the complaints. I think I'll give the Netflix prequels or whatever a complete miss.

Do not have Sky but seen the first episode on Youtube and keeping abreast of things, with it being a finished story, it should be good, if you do not know what happens, avoid spoilers and do not got attached to any characters

Yup, just finished episode 5.

What House of the Dragon lacks compared to the latter parts of GoT in terms of action, it's making up for in terms of quality of acting, storyboarding and writing.

 

The most recent episode was superb. Actually pretty similar to the earlier GoT seasons.

Not enough houses and not enough dragons for me; just castles and CGI. 

 

Give me a good book and an apple and a pint of tea and a nice warm jumper and a wallet full of actual cash any day.
