Jakemoore Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 I'm not local to Leicester so I don't see as many games as I'd like, on top of that, I work on Saturdays so I always miss the live streams. So I'm just wondering how these two are getting on, I've not heard many positives about either of them except after Marshall scored that goal again chelski of course.

cc_star Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Young lads growing into their roles, they look to have the skills to do very well for us, over the coming years. They aren't the just-add-water readymix players we signed in the summer to buy success, but I'm hopeful they'll be much, much better than that turned out.

ithuriel Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Marshall already looks quality, works hard, has good ball control etc., Drinkwater can and most probably will improve but he is already decent and needs fine tuning. Both now can easily make a first team spot their own, no more cruising along for our old midfielders.
Jakemoore Posted 29 March 2012 Author Posted 29 March 2012 Well it seems like they have the backing of the season ticket holders so that's enough for me
Leicester_Loyal Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Marshall has been very good the past few games, Drinkwater less so, but he still looks decent. I do believe that next season these two will be very important players to us, I think DD will be our main CM and BM will be the winger/hole player that makes us tick and scores some fabulous goals. I hope so anyway...
beryllind Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Both look good, Ben with a direct approach, and Danny with a keen footballing brain and touch, the team needs more like them.
coolhandfox Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Both add plenty to the squad and will prove to be good acquisitions, can see both of them become the mainstay of the midfield for next season.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 For what it's worth I believe that DD needs to fill out/more upper body strength then he would be wicked in CM along side Danns or a simalir type of play. Just my veiw
topharry123 Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Marshall is already looking like he's going to be a great player for us. Drinkwater hasn't looked great so far to me, but from what other people have said he has had moments that show the quality is there. Hopefully he'll properly find his game after being in the team for a while longer and be the player he is being touted as.
stourbridgefox Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Ben Marshall looks like a young George Best and Danny Drinkwater looks exactly the same as Paul Konchesky from where I sit.
Frank_mckenzie Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Ben Marshall looks like a young George Best and Danny Drinkwater looks exactly the same as Paul Konchesky from where I sit. I was thinking exactly the same also with Marshall and nugent even down to the boots
Out Foxed Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 drinkwater plays like paul scholes, just without the great shooting and superb range of passing. so actually he's like richie wellens.

renards Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Ben Marshall looks like a young George Best and Danny Drinkwater looks exactly the same as Paul Konchesky from where I sit. . I can't tell the difference. I just thought the Konch was everywhere
gazfox9 Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Love that Ben Marshall isn't afraid to have a pop, puts in a magnificent corner and is always looking to cross the ball (Dyer please take note of the last point). DD has shown glimpses but we haven't seen the standard of performance yet he put in against us when at Barnsley. Early days yet though.

accessory Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Drinkwater's been carrying an injury for the past couple of games. This might help to explain his subdued performances.
Bayfox Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 marshall had showed nothing to justify the price tag, until that goal at chelski, since then he hasnt looked back. drinkwater looked good when he 1st came but has gone backwards since, maybe he isnt fully fit, but so far his best game down filbert way has been in a barnsley shirt. however i still think they both have a big part to play in our future.
daddylonglegs Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Ohhhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhh Na Na Na Na Na Na BEN MARSHALL Na Na Na Na Na Na BEN MARSHALL Na Na Na Na Na Na BEN MARSHALL Na Na Na Na Na Na BEN MARSHALL Ohhhhhhhhh...... This song made the KP electric on Tuesday and saturday-quality
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Only time will tell, as they become more seasoned players, but currently they do have a raw potential, to succeed.
eaststandtom Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 good players. very much of the mould of player we saw playing for hull last weekend. good technique and pretty nippy. play the right way. a sign of things to come i feel. person bringing right players in whether it happens this or next season it bodes well if more of these types of players come to the club
Walshy5 Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Marshall had a slow start but since chelsea he's looked quality. DD had a very good start with us and remember him having a blinder at the KP when we beat Cardiff 2-1. However he doesn't seem to be playing as well lately. Like some have said though maybe he's carrying an injury and he's only playing because we currently have no other options.
