Austin Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Horrible news .. Thoughts are with him and his family.
Hollism Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Club statement from AVFC http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~2706308,00.html Acute Leukemia. Very sad news, wish him a speedy recovery
Trav Le Bleu Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 First Muamba and now this! Don't worry, they're both foreigners. Seriously though, sad news.
kingfox Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Very sad, you get a promising picture of Muamba only to have this news right after it. Very sad illness to yet another talented player, hope he gets better soon.
Leicesterpool Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 One of the nicest guys in football, sad news.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 It really can happen to anyone . Terrible news. It's an awful ordeal for anybody to go through, the majority of people will have known somebody who has been affected be this. It's a terrible disease. Wish him a speedy recovery.

Webbo Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Are we all going to Villa park now to place a lighted candle on our football shirts and tape some flowers to a lamp post?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Are we all going to Villa park now to place a lighted candle on our football shirts and tape some flowers to a lamp post? Won't get more than a passing mention on MotD.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Won't get more than a passing mention on MotD. What about all the tee shirts all the Prem players will be sporting today? Or am I being cynical in thinking outside of the Villa not much will be made of the sad news about Petrov?
Haydos Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 So people are going to moan if it isn't made a big deal of like Muamba and they're going to moan if it is. That's before they engage their brain and realise that it's clearly not as shocking and public as the Muamba incident. Anyway. Not sure what sort of benefits Premier League footballers have when it comes to health but you'd assume they're checked more regularly than us normal folk. Lets hope they caught it early and he makes a full recovery!
Magictv Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Good luck to him and everyone else with this illness.
Stadt Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Darren Fletcher doesn't get a mention with his Crohn's and Colitis.
Jimothy Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 Darren Fletcher doesn't get a mention with his Crohn's and Colitis. He had a topic on here and everything when it was announced, that was months ago. Everyone wished him well and I'm sure they still do, but what are we meant to do, mention every ill or dead footballer every time another one gets ill or dies?
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 Best of luck to him, was a moving moment on MoTD last night when the ground stood up and applauded on the 19th min. Wish him all the best
jonno24 Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 More closer to home Yann Kermorgant had the same disease when he was 14 and didnt play for 4 years so altho this may be the end of his playing career Yann is proof that it can be beaten.
