The People's Hero Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 If NP got sacked, he could have absolutely no complaints. He seems to have been backed when he's wanted players. He took the job knowing what was required and yet his failed to address any of the flaws we had under Sven. We still cannot overcome teams of reducers We are still a bit pants away We are still toothless from set pieces We are still prone to indiscipline We still do not have a real viable set of 2x wingers (he may have half solved this) The frustrating thing is not that we are not getting promoted, I did not expect promotion. The frustrating thing is that these issues just have not been resolved and as far as a few of those points go, I think we've got worse Remember some of the football under Sven? Including when we took Derby apart? Thats what I want to see at LCFC.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 NEVER But i've got a 20 quid bet we'll finish above Leeds this season
Happy Fox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 You can't have it both ways, Babs. His results have hardly been sparkling either. What exactly can we judge him on? Results and by far and large they haven't been good enough ,personally I would get rid of NP now ( I am a NP hater no I not a Sven bummer, no I haven't come to this conclusion based on this result tbc we are underachieving and at the end of the day the manager is culpable is he not?), this squad of players should be good enough for a playoff place it isn't rocket science get some one in who can lead us to promotion.
Mark_w Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 So Beckford wastes multiple good chances and then gives up before everyone else. We can't sack Nigel, he needs to be allowed to clear out the egos that Sven brought in and create a proper squad like he did during his first stint. Many of players we have either aren't good enough or don't care enough, let Nigel rebuild and we'll be in a much stronger position, like Hull where this year.
The People's Hero Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 You're disappointed in someone because they've not got the same opinion as you? ...Makes a change Matt. Go back and read the thread. It takes all opinions. I'm disappointed because Babs knows that less money spent than Sven is a flawed argument. Sven didn't take all his players with him when he left. NP took the job knowing what was required. We need a foxestalk junior for posters like you.
lcfcsnow Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Shambles. Least we've gone out in style losing to a shocking outfit. Unbelievably inept finishing, and tactics from our manager.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Beckford never wanted to be here, anybody who backs him... he will break your hearts.. (awaits the abuse).
Matt Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Beckford having a strop, perfect example of certain individuals, not looking bothered, not trying, feeling sorry for themselves and not digging in and not trying to prove points. Maybe it's just unlucky he's in that mood today though...
CasperBlue Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Well, would you believe it, beaten by the little upstarts from down the A47 once again.

Absofrickinglutely. At risk of sounding like a broken record, the board should have moved heaven and earth and offered any reasonable assurances to get MON here.
Haydos Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 If Kasper 'threw a strop' it would be put down to passion and showing how much he cares. But with Beckford it somehow equates to having a big ego (Yeah, explain that...)?

Maybe it's just unlucky he's in that mood today though... Wes Morgan was playing centre forward. Beckford had to track back as only Bamba was back, he then had a strop. As much as Pearsons ineptitude than Beckford for me.
Babylon Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 How long do we have to wait? I'll wait as long as I did before I started judging Sven properly. I tend to stick to the same way of judging managers, unlike like others.
Jakemoore Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I'd never lose faith with LCFC completely! I love them more than anything in this world but the last four years have been horrible I really thought this would be our year with Sven and beckford and mills etc but clearly that has failed! We'll just have to hope we can turn things around over the summer!
Mark_w Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Absofrickinglutely. At risk of sounding like a broken record, the board should have moved heaven and earth and offered any reasonable assurances to get MON here. He wouldn't have come, I'm sure they would have done everything they could to get him in, but why would MON come to a rubbish championship side when he can get any mid-table Prem job he wants. Nigel Pearson has got a much weaker side into the Play-Offs before, and would have done this year had he not left a well placed Hull side to return because he actually wants to be at the club. Nigel Pearson wants to be Leicester manager and has had success here, MON doesn't want to be at Leicester. Get over it.

If willingness to do the job is suddenly the important criteria, I'm very worried about the next appointment.

Amen, now lets get a manager to get us promotion who that manager is we all have preferences but in this situation we need a Rafa Benitez type of manager you may think I am f**king barmy and whether the Thais have the clout to attract that type of manager, but they did with Sven so you never know
Babylon Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 You can't have it both ways, Babs. His results have hardly been sparkling either. What exactly can we judge him on? Try not joining in a conversation half way through, we're talking about next season. I'll make my judgement on Pearson the same as I did on Sven. When he's had a pre-season and a chance to tweak the squad how he wants to. I won't be calling for his head for not getting a group of players into the play offs that a) are mostly not his, and b) have never proved themselves capable of being a playoff team.
Guest Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Least were not Portsmouth! Let's hope that we don't have to play them anythime soon then.

I definitely agree
