Beckford facing the boot.

Spot on, and that seems to be the problem, except in NP's case that doesn't work both ways it is either my way or the highway. Not saying that approach is bad but then it does make you question that this causes alienation in the squad and would for me cause disharmony and not everyone pulling in the same direction. If we get rid of Beckford it would be distasteful decision.

Why do you think that? That idea is based on nothing, Mills by all accounts seriously crossed the line after being dropped, and deserves to be left out the team if true. With SSL, as I have said, NP did nothing wrong, likewise with Gradel and Campbell, the only thinkg you can accuse him of doing is not playing them and he should not be held to ransom by players wanting to play when he doesn't see them as first choice. In Campbell's and Gradel's case he let them go out on loan.

Mills is a different issue, he crossed a line, every manager has a line, a comparable incident is Wayne Brown, he crossed a line and was out of here.

You will see on Saturday one way or the other, but I would expect Beckford to start and everything in the club to be normal and probably has been since Sunday morning, but all of this has been stirred up by the media, the likes of Young and the Mirror reporter, and NP has to take some blame for it for not just nipping it in the bud in the post match interview. The thing is it has to be unsettling for Beckford to read these things, and wonder maybe his future is in doubt.

It is not really based on nothing their have been frictions between Beckford and NP dating back since a couple of months ago by all accounts NP wanted him rid in the January transfer market that didn't come to fruition, and now because NP has got the hump with Jermaine for not obeying him he wants him out. Or you could argue NP wanted rid of Mills and Beckford in the January transfer market.

By what accounts? By pointless speculation you mean?

If NP was so intolerant and that was true do you not think Beckford would be training with Mills? NP was having problems with Beckford, like Mills, because he wasn't playing well. Beckford upped his game, Mills didn't and spat his dummy out. That is all.

Keep flying that flag... jeesh

I see with my own eyes, Beckford celebrating & hugging NP & getting hugged back, NP is always clapping him on & encouraging. There is nothing negative there whatsoever.

He's been an ever present despite Schlupp's return to fitness, because Becks finally got his head in the game whereas a few months ago it wasn't which is why NP was subbing him or just playing Schlupp and yes probably would have sold him, having scored about 2 goals in half a season, but they've worked together & Becks has improved for us... whether it's enough to bother with him next season or not is a different matter.

Mills would have been gone in Jan were it not to a direct rival (Leeds) - Something very bad happened there which has obviously made Mills' position in the team untenable

Okay so it was coincidental that we put in bids for Sharp and Vardy then?

I'm with you on this Happy Fox and I believe the press when they speculated Pearson wanted rid of Mills and Beckford back in Jan

Has anybody actually got any evidence that Beckford is even in trouble with Pearson yet? or is this just 8 pages of meaningless drivel?

Well that is your first mistake, do you ever read the gossip column on the BBC website? How much of that turns out to be true?

NP doesn't discuss anything with the press, I get the impression that if his wife asked him how things were at the KP he would slap her and tell her to mind her own business. So I doubt that anyone in the press gets anything from NP and just speculate make things up.

Let's look at the facts, we were after Sharp, which would lead to people thinking we will sell a striker, of the stirkers we had that were fit, it was Nugent (top scorer) Schlupp (young prospect) and Beckford (underperforming, not getting on well with the fans) not difficult to think Sharp was being brought in to replace Beckford. Maybe he was but that doesn't mean that NP hates Beckford and wants him out the club, he just saw a better striker available at a good price. Not a bad bit of business if it had come off, it didn't and Becks upped his game, scoring more in 2012 than Sharp has (this fact is based on no statistical evidence or research and may not be true, but that doesn't stop anyone else posting "facts")

Any passionate player could be excused for disagreeing with Pearson constantly from the evidence I've seen so far because some of the things he does are barely defensible.

Some are so bad that perhaps Pearson's the one who should be apologising ... for making pointless and disruptive last minute substitutions, playing striker Nugent on the wing and having Morgan surging forward on misguided attacking sprees when he struggles enough to defend effectively at times...and that's just for starters.

Bosses need to earn respect, the same as players, and the best way they can do that is by providing solutions rather than problems in the quest to win football matches... whatever staff they have at their disposal.

Sorry that's complete bollocks.

The players need to do as they're told. It's this poor attitude from players where they think they are the manager's equal that is the problem.

Having a private, polite conversation if you are unhappy with the way things are going is one thing, publicly refusing to obey the manager's instructions during a match is completely not on.

Beckford has actually refused to do his job for Leicester City. People are defending the indefensible in that respect.

I'd hope that Beckford will see the error of his ways, apologise and knuckle down, and I hope Pearson will rethink some of his tactics.

Or he could have just been thinking of sending Schlupp out on loan again or something :dunno:

Right their was an article back in January actually I will post the thread and you can have a look their to realize that it isn't totally unreasonable judgement to suggest this viewpoint that NP wants Mills and Beckford out.

How do you know it's not true? And how did you know we were after Sharp if everything in the media is false?

Because Doncaster said they accepted our bid on their OS.

Mills would have gone... were it not to a direct rival... exactly like I said

Beckford would have too should we have been able to get someone better, like Vardy or Sharp, but we couldn't because a Prem club will prob get Vardy & Sharp will be playing in the Prem with another rich club... S'ton, because we couldn't attract who wanted (in part due to Beckford having a shit first half of the season & being part of the reason for us not being where we could be) since then NP has worked with Beckford & Beckford has benefited with improved form, although still some way short of a club with our supposed requirements

playing striker Nugent on the wing

I'd have thought you of all people would have realised that with Wellens injured & Danns being reckless meant some changes to the formation was needed, which worked fine for the big game... but as usual not for the lesser teams. It's not Nugent's form was great up top anyway.

Needs must.

And what part of that article is fact, which bit is taken from a press release by the club, or a direct quote from Pearson?

None of it. It is idle press speculation, just look at the gossip section, I found a random one fomr earlier this year:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/mobile/football/gossip_and_transfers/9676958.stm

How much of that turned out to be true?

The BBC knows that papers print crap that is why they have a gossip column to stick it all in, because it is all speculation based on 0 facts.

I don't think anyone is saying it couldn't be true, their saying you can't base your argument around things that may well be a load of crap.

Sven signed a lot of decent players (not loans) it just happens the two disappointments have been expensive. Beckford was a panic buy end of

Personally I think Pearsons signing have showed great promise, and the blend between exp and youth is good, just need the attitude to be right. Think Claridge, Savage, Lennon, Elliot, big characters but decent people.

Posted

Meh, he's gonna leave lets face it Pearson plays him cause he is a good player and he's been on top form, but that doesn't necessarily mean they see eye to eye.

It'll be sad IF he goes, and as a few people have mentioned this is pure speculation so we'll have to wait until Saturday to see if he is in the squad/starting line up.

If Beckford stays he will be a key player next season along with Nugent :scarf: What a deadly strike force that would be :yahoo:

yeah right , stevie howard to the rescue . :(

That's right, Pearson thinks Howard is the man to replace Beckford. That must be why NP's picked Beckford to start pretty much every match since NP returned, and put Howard on the bench pretty much every match because Waghorn and Vassell have been out injured.

Posted

If Waghorn and Nugent do start next season I would be hugely disappointed, with Beckford potentially leaving in the summer we would need two forwards a target man ( Darius Henderson) and a goal poacher ( Ched Evans)

Posted

Beckford this beckord that mmmmmmmmmmmmm just ask yourselfs who the bloody hell else in our under performing team has been consistent other than maybe kasper and konch, maybe nugent until our twat of a manager put him on the wing.

I would really love to dig out your posts about Ched Evans pre season.
