I think I'd respect the manager more if 'e lined a few decent players' pockets with Beckford's supposed £35,000 a week.

And you agree that's alright, then? You're totally fine with people being paid more than you but not putting more effort in? You don't think it's reasonable to expect one of the highest paid strikers in the whole division to be one of the best? Bristol City's Chris Wood has scored 10. I wonder what his wages are? Who do you choose? 8 goals a season for £35k, or 10 goals a season for a fraction of that? Why pay £35k a week for one rubbish striker when you could pay two, three, or more, good players instead? I asked if you think it's right. It's not, is it? Why should people be paid more than their colleagues if they do the same, or less work? It's not fair on the people being paid less to work harder, it makes no sense for the employer to waste a lot of money on lazy employees, and worst of all it could create a general feeling of resentment among the staff and demotivate them. You said yourself that NP had started to get the best out of Beckford, and I agree. However, we do still see Jermaine fail to show up sometimes. Hence the numerous half time substitutions. It's not good enough. You're right - it's not helpful for a player to fall out with the manager, but if I had to bet who's fault it is, my money's on JB. His attitude's all wrong. He doesn't care often enough. I'd like to see us replace JB with a player or two who would challenge for a header, or risk bumping into the back post to score an easy goal and not be such a pussy. I'd be interested to know why you don't like Pearson. I think he did a great job last time he was here, and I see no reason why he can't again once he's had a chance to replace a few of the players. Could you say why you think selling the club to the current owners was a mistake? I do sympathise - I think most of us are pretty fed up after all the hype last summer.

This whole Pearson can't handle 'big personalities' he wants players whole are all pulling in the same direction and there are some in the squad who seem to be self obsessed rather than working for the team.

Matt Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 And people say Sven lost the dressing room I think it's one extreme to the other tbh, Sven was too laid back, too quiet, you could get away with alot with Sven and players didn't really listen to what he wanted and lost respect in that way. Pearson came in and he makes you work and a few of these prima donnas, overpaid players, egotistical and players with attitudes don't like it. All i'm saying is you'll get more reward for working harder than having a big ego and attitude. Anyone can come in and saying 'only weak people feel pressure' they have to follow that up, I thought Beckford had turned a corner he looked like a good player for a few games the went back to how he was before!

I think Pearson is spot on and its nothing to do with him not handling bigger personalities. If i was manager and someone disobeyed me with attitude then i'd be fuming too, i wouldnt want an overpaid selfish sulk that throws his toys out

Pearson/Capello arrives, charged with instilling discipline. Pearson/Capello gets slated for trying to do exactly that. Make up your mind.. Either you wanted someone in to give these players the proverbial kick up the arris, or you didn't. I do.. My trust is in Pearson not in Mills or Beckford.
