How many teams have achieved 6 wins in a row in the league this season? I think it may only be Reading which shows how unlikely this would be.

Could be wrong but I think we will get 7 points from the remaining four games and that won't be enough.

Take a look at the wonderful Statto website, which provides a mine of statistical magnificence. This shows that if the last six games of form were to be repeated by us, Cardiff, Boro and Brighton, we would make the play offs by virtue of our superior goal difference.

You might like to look at the form tables against top half and bottom half opp. Against top half, we're second to Reading. Against bottom half, we're about 19th. It's not that we're not good enough, it's that we haven't been good enough against the teams having a bad season (eg Bristol City, Posh, Pompey, 3 points from 18)

For those of you who likes stats but didn't know of Statto, I may just have ruined your working week.

I had us to draw away to Millwall and at home to West Ham, with wins at home to Burnley and away at Leeds, we finish 6th thanks to our superior goal difference over Cardiff. It's definately doable.

These predictions things are a load of bollocks. If you can satisfy yourself that we will or wont make it by predicting 20 games (5 teams each with 4games) with correct scores, you're best going to the bookies and sticking 100 on on a big bet.

If youre not confident enough to do that the point in this thread is all bollocks and speculation

It's just a bit of fun mate :unsure:

I did this just out of interest but It is a very unlikely outcome.

I know this doesn't take form into account and gives "home advantage" to the away team, but if the reverse fixtures all repeat the results then it doesn't look good for us. I guess this just again highlights our poor away form and inconsistency have cost us. I still have faith, but this team really needs to do better in every fixture.

I had us missing out by a point with 2 wins 1 draw 1 loss which could quite easily happen. 3 wins 1 loss or maybe 3 wins 1 draw and we are in with a shout i reckon. It's just nice we still have something to play for (probably wont last much longer) which for me I didn't expect after how inconsistent we are.

I won't be surprised to see Cardiff miss out on the playoffs. They're experts at choking, and the pressure's on them. Middlesbrough's form and goal difference is poor at the mo. Brighton have still got to play Reading, West Ham and Brum. They couldn't really have a more difficult run-in. Hull lost 5 in a row before yesterday. Blackpool aren't too far away to catch yet. It's probably an advantage that 3 of the teams we have to play don't really have anything to play for. The pressure will be off them, but they might want to rest their best players and blood some youngsters, instead.

I was just hoping that we'd finish the season in decent form, but after looking at things more closely, I think there's a few things going our way. Maybe we can finish top 6.

Agreed, I noticed when going through the predictor Brightpoo have got it hard with Middlescrap, Dull and possibly Cardwiffy faltering. Blackball are very unpredictable as well so I definitely think our fate is in our own hands although I'm sure those teams will be saying the same about us lol

If the table does look like this come end of the season, Nige should get a huge laminated version and pin it on the dressing room wall. As a reminder for every game next season.

Might prevent from us repeating the mistakes of this season and pissing away points to the likes of Bristol City et al...

millwall a - 2-3 win to leicester

burnley h- 3-1 win to leicester

west ham h- 1-1 draw

leeds a - 1-2 win to leicester (leeds have gave up)

we can afford 1 bad result as long as we win 3.

millwall and burnley are good games if we play well and leeds have pretty much gave up and waiting for the end of the season.

West ham may be a hard one.

West Ham could be easy if they have can't get automatic promotion by that point, but have enough points for home advantage in the play-offs. They might rest players or just genrally not be up for what they will see as a pointless match.
