Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 As everybody who knows me can appreciate, I abhor swearing in all forms and am incensed by this behaviour. More than this, my son has been so traumatised by the episode that he lost control of his bladder and rectal muscles. The club should sack every employee forthwith.
Haydos Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 It's pathetic some are letting him off so lightly quite frankly. He's supposed to be a role model and he does something like that? Outrageous.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 So people claiming he should be ' a perfect role model.' Have you never ever once swore infront of your child/younger sibling in the heat of the moment... No ofcourse not because you are perfect human beings.
Walker Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 ... Well i'm not stupid, so this could get awkward...
broughtonblue Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Fair play to him, if some twats were abusing me I would do the same, if not worse. Think gally and wellens should do the same with the stick they get. Support the team!
Guest BlueBrett Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Didn't see whatever he did but Konch has been our most consistent player this season and anyone giving him shit today is an idiot
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Hasn't one of the issues that has cost us been lack if discipline on the field and this appears to me to be another prime example of such players over reacting.
Kitchandro Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 to be honest, this sums up our fans, ****ing tipical, have some resepct, hes trying his best! Yeh course it does. It's that kind of comment which is pathetic. We're all aware we have some nobheads for fans but using them to generalise our fantastic support makes you look a twat. I understand why Konchesky reacted and I'm not too bothered but he should be more professional, no argument. So much for all this 'get behind the team' - get behind the club more like, aka the fans, WE should be sticking together during a period where the team has let us down constantly. Nice to know where your loyalties lie. I wouldn't want to be stood next to you in the trenches.
Kitchandro Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Firstly, the players don't choose their wages. Supply and demand. If you're that bothered about them being over-paid, then don't go to a football match and fund them then. Being well paid doesn't mean it's fine to hurl abuse at them either - I don't go into Banks and shout "Fvcking wankers" at them for 90 minutes. I'd probably be arrested for that. Apparently watching football means it's alright to be a dick. You don't go into a bank and start singing songs about how great bankers are either. Why are you comparing football with banks? It's completely pointless. They aren't even remotely similar things so of course people will act differently there. Bullshit. The team probably care more then you do.
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Konchesky has every right to give abuse. Wasn't his best game today but gives his all every game he plays.
Charl91 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Well, it's true, even if it's for their own ego's. They have a lot more riding on it then you do, their career, their reputation. It's deluded to think otherwise. Why is it whenever we don't win, it's because the "players don't care"? Maybe it's because they didn't have a good game....?
Kitchandro Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I can't wait for this season to be over. I think it's fair to say that the relationship between the fans and the club/team is very poor at the moment. We need to forget this train wreck of a campaign and take some positivity from the fresh start in August.
Kitchandro Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Well, it's true, even if it's for their own ego's. They have a lot more riding on it then you do, their career, their reputation. It's deluded to think otherwise. Why is it whenever we don't win, it's because the "players don't care"? Maybe it's because they didn't have a good game....? And that's exactly what proves they're not as bothered as the fans. It's their job, they do it because they get paid for it. How many of these players will come and watch us every week when they're no longer employed by us? Marlon King's been charged with 14 offences and he doesn't give a shit about his reputation, because he's still getting picked, paid and scoring goals at a decent level. They know that they can behave like twats and it makes little difference, they can always find another club if they fail, and they still get paid. I'm sure players try their best in general and get annoyed when they don't win etc, but suggesting they care more than the fans is completely ludicrous.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Not reading all of the pages but have you seen what he tweeted? He said it was to that fan not all of us, he gives it 100% and is one of my players of the season.

How many of these players will come and watch us every week when they're no longer employed by us? They may not be as bothered about the club 'LCFC' as much as the fans, but that's not the same as not caring how well they play. No footballer wants to lose a game or play badly. If they play badly, I can guarantee they will be more annoyed then you. Marlon King's been charged with 14 offences and he doesn't give a shit about his reputation, because he's still getting picked, paid and scoring goals at a decent level.. You're confusing reputation on and off the pitch. If he hadn't scored a single goal, then he wouldn't get picked. They care about their professional reputation.
Thracian Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Glad to hear about his tweet because it was the only explanation I could think of. Konchesky has been a giant for us this season - one of our few consistently good performers and a 100 per center even when he's faltered. I'm quite sure he'd have been pissed off big time by today's outcome and if someone blasted him with verbals while he was mentally on the floor the fan should be thankful the finger was only waved in the air instead of being used more emphatically. At least it shows how Konch was feeling and that it mattered to him. I really have no time for fans abusing players. It serves no constructive purpose and if a customer did it in any other environment they'd be carted off. What the incident does give though is a chance for Pearson to take a stand - and be sure it's right alongside his player.

If he hadn't scored a single goal, then he wouldn't get picked. They care about their professional reputation. No you can't. My point about King is even after all that shit he still manages to find a club. They want to do well and they care about their careers, but they can easily just decide they don't give a shit about the club and play for another one. The players care in general but they don't care as much as me, not even close. It's easier for them to get over it and just leave work at work.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Let's put the fan and Konch in a room together and see who comes out the way they went in, I certainly know the answer:L This has all been blown wayyyy pout of proportion. Konchesky has been one of our better players in a shambles of a season. He should of acted the bigger person an ignored it, but what's happened has happens and we all need to move on
Daggers Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Let's put the fan and Konch in a room together and see who comes out the way they went in What? Backwards?
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 What? Backwards? No, with their face looking normal
I am Rod Hull Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 What? Backwards? Nothing made me laugh-cough today until that.
red5 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 I've not read all the posts, I was there and never heard or seen any obuse to konchesky, he put his finger up and other actions towards the city fans, this he did while I was clapping the team off the pitch even though they lost, my actions were towards the team, his were towards the fans, that's how I saw it.
MrFox781 Posted 14 April 2012 Posted 14 April 2012 Tuesday against burnley I will happily chant Konchesky usual chant. Hopefully most will do the same.
