Student Season Tickets

That sounds good a student steward. Three years at uni to gain enough qualifications to become a fully fledged steward. :) :)

They were advertising for stewards a couple of weeks ago so not actually a bad idea. I did it in the Premiership season under Micky Adams. It's a pretty sweet deal, you get about £30 and can stand up for the whole game without being bothered!! They put you through an NVQ in crowd control too so you can get casual work as a safety steward at music festivals or sports events.

To be honest, I'm not sure why I expect anything else. This is football. This is a football forum. Football is traditionally a working man's game. I suppose the only thing to say in conclusion is that your average football fan will do what the average football fan will do. You will follow your team and that will be the meat between the bread of a depressing job. It's a real shame that one social class should hold such a presence in a sport that I so adore. Especially as that class continues to peck my head at every available opportunity, as if it is their fvcking job to do so.

Ah well. That is the way of the world, and as somebody eluded to earlier; I guess somebody has to make people's KFC's for them. Thank god it isn't me.

I'm a student and I was arguing in this thread earlier on. But the above quote..... really?!

So basically:

Student objects to anti-student poster and makes the point that their post is grammatically embarrassing > Anti-student poster calls student arrogant before making equally self-righteous statement > Student defines the difference between the two and exposes weaknesses in arguments > Anti-student poster says 'oh well this is boring just pay for it', and rolls off ancient cliché's which smack of ignorance. ('Welcome to the real world'. 'The world doesn't owe you a living' etc. etc.)

Speaking of which. What is the real world? Working 9-5 and looking forward to a stop at the 'CHIPPEHHH' on the way home? I suppose us students are arrogant for wanting just a little more from life? The thing is, ignorant fools such as those evident in this thread have no concept of anything else but working class life. Anything else is alien and thus instantly falsified.

The same is true for racism. 'Huh? What? This person does not have white skin. Uhm... BAD PERSON!!' Flowwolf has conveyed a disgusting level of racism in his recent posts and I would like to raise the point that his posts ought to be reviewed and he should receive a just punishment from mods, unless, of course, that is what we are as a group of LCFC supporters? Perhaps racism is perfectly acceptable when you're a Leicester fan? From what I've heard in the stands I'd hardly be surprised.

This quote, a fantastic piece of work written by lcfcstu, really sums the whole thing up for me. He was replying to the following by Father Ted:

So, to summarise: If I have a job, fine. If not it is all the fault of immigrants. This ape-like cognition is hilarious. 'There is a problem. The problem is their fault. My head can now rest'. It is for this reason that we find this forum inundated by twonks scape-goating our players. They see that we have not gained promotion, and instantly somebody else must be at fault. No deep consideration is ever part of the equation.

(I don't actually believe in any god. It's just a popular phrase. In fact the whole religion thing bears some weight in this argument. The whole 'obeying to a higher power' and the notion of having a 'cross to bear' is the whole reason that Taylorism succeeded back in the day. I bloody hate religion. I couldn't disagree with it any more than I do. However, I am so, so pleased that it allowed a working class to do the sh*tty jobs. Please carry on doing so, and carry on watching the footy if you like. But please don't annoy me in the process.) .

You've not done a lot to prove people that you're not an arrogant little c*nt with this post have you?

You go to uni, well done. Some people might not want to go to uni, I'm glad I didn't if it means turning out like you have. Some people just aren't clever enough to get into uni.

It's your choice whether to go to uni, deal with the consequences. The majority of students only see things through student eyes, just like you have. It's like if anyone else hasn't been to uni,,they're insignificant.

Well I tell you what, I didn't go to uni and I'm glad I didn't. I've still got a decent job and I'll earn a decent living. So what if people want to stop at a "CHIPPEHHH" and so what if people work in KFC, they'll never be as stuck up as you.

lol

My point was simply intended to highlight the fact that people in here have shot students down for simply wanting to better themselves.

The vast majority of people could get in to a decent uni given enough effort. I'll tell you straight, I am no genius. All I do is try hard and personally I don't see why others cannot, and why they should then take the moral high ground for not being a 'tax dodger'.

You have no idea what I have 'turned out like' and if all you have to go off is this post, and the way in which I may seem arrogant, well I suppose that's just an indication of a strong argument.

I've never said you can't get a good job if you don't get to uni. I know full well that that's b*llocks.

There's a difference between stuck up and p*ssed off. I was p*ssed off with some of the utter sh*t posted in here.

Oh, and yes it was my choice to go to uni. However, this shouldn't be seen as a reason to be punished. That's like saying people who apply to fight for the country deserve to die 'because it was their choice'.

EDIT:

However I am sorry and I will aim to try and be a less arrogant person, just like you, in future. lol

Are you seriously arguing that footballing isn't predominantly a working class sport?

By the way I have no problem with people deciding to be working class. I know some lovely working class people. I'm talking about the general picture of those that are too ignorant to see past the 'tax dodger' tag on students.

What an utter condescending arrogant post. So you have no problem with people deciding to be working class do you ? and you know some lovely working class people as well, that's big of you. You typify the stereo image " working class " people have of students. The know it all I'm better than you attitude .

Of course I see right through your posts , as a wind up merchant your not bad , but if you really are a student then you are doing yourself and your brethren no good , you are just reinforcing the stereo type.

Ps carry on your making even me seem popular ! :D :D :D :D :D

Ah well that's buggered it , I can't see many students passing the N.V.Q in crowd control. :D :D :D :D :D

Complete load of rubbish, the students on here have been shot down because they have isolated themselves from the rest of the Leicester fans by basically saying " our tickets have gone up and it's not fair" what they don't realise everyone else's ticket has gone up so they have alienated themselves instead of understanding everyone is in the same boat. What it should be is a complaint at all tickets going up on price.

That isn't what has been said. Our ticket prices have doubled, have yours? No, so we have a right to be annoyed. Rising ticket prices in general are annoying too but it's the reality of supporting a club that has pumped an unsustainable amount of money in. The reason most students are annoyed is because we won't be able to go and see the club we love and are loyal to, whereas we could before.

That's because of a change in pricing band though, which they knew would happen last season. Yes, that's still ridiculously unfair, and yes they have a right to complain about it, but it is how the pricing structure has worked in the past. The revoking of student tickets is different- it doesn't matter whether students DESERVE cheaper tickets or not (I've never argued that they do), it's that they did get them and now they don't. If America revoked the right to own guns, there would be uproar- it would probably make sense for them to revoke it (guns are dangerous blah blah blah), but the citizens who had had it taken away from them would still have a right to complain and be annoyed.

Secondly, that isn't true for everyone, not that it matters anyway. Student fees underwent a rise for the next intake of students starting this December, from c. £3000 to c. £9000. It matters not that the rise can be defended or even that students still can go to uni if they really want to, there is still a right to complain and feel annoyed about it.

from what ive read the student discount only came in last year, it was done (imo the correct way) on age before that. so people growing up would have expected a prise rise any way due to the change in age. but lucky some had a discount for a year.

Put it this way. If everyone else' season ticket went up, but yours remained the same price, would you be happy about it? And before you answer think about the fact that leicester city is a club and that all members, from whatever walk of life, have to pay for the privalage of being part of that club.

I know but i reckon they shouldnt have brought it in to then get rid of it! That is a reason for annoyance!

Atleast you'll know for next year, thats how the pricing structure works....
