We have class owners

Recommended Posts

I know some people may feel they have made mistakes, but I feel are owners are the best in the division. They could have walked away but they are staying loyal for the long term project. The free dvd yesterday was an extra bonus and thanks, and I know the results might not have gone our way but we cannot underestimate their effort.

The DVD Was bitter sweet to see all those goals and still not go up this season :( Especially when you see us beating all the teams in the playoffs! so so frustrating...Lets hope next season gets better

How could they walk away when the club owes them £53m or something, of which they're charging 8% interest?

If they walk away, the club will go bankrupt & they'll get next to nothing.

Their wanting a quick fix & a 'name' manager so they can sell shirts in their duty free shop is what has taken us backwards with nothing to show but a big debt & a huge ongoing commitment via wage bill for players who've collectively achieved far less than the players replaced.

Any fool can spend next year's income & the year after & the year after & the year after etc

Yeah so far they've been great!

That aside, we've longed for owners who would unlock the purse strings, lets hope it ends with us establishing ourselves in the Prem & not doing a Portsmouth

I'm sure it'll do what it's designed to do, sell a few more ST by helping a few undecided's make their minds up and buy.

The club belongs to the fans and the city and always will, they are the current custodians, we are grateful and respectful for their tenure so far. lets hope that state of affairs continues for both parties...But money has a way of changing things not always for the better.

Agreed, nice gesture

A few points:

1) The DVD wasn't a gesture, it was to help 'brainwash' people into renewing their season tickets, nothing is ever free these days.

2) As a previous poster said, they are not still here through choice but because if they left now they would lose tens of millions of pounds.

3) Great owners? They've spent none of their own money, all they have spent is being loaned to the club and they even get 8% of it back as PROFIT. They have put season ticket prices up OVER inflation in a time of recession, abolished student prices and put the senior citizen age up to 65.. Oh and our season ticket prices for next season are all more expensive than Aston Villa's.. Fair?

Glad to see the owners looking after the heartbeat of the club, the fans.

1) aaah, that's why I woke up this morning wanting to renew - it was the subliminal messages

Fair enough, you clearly know the Thai's very we'll and are intimately acquainted with their motives and financial affairs

It could well be ;)

Thing is it's not about knowing them and their financial affairs, it's about money. No business would invest in something and then pull out when they would lose millions. If that was the case they wouldn't be as successful in their foreign business as they have been.

Give me your bank account details, I'll whack £1000 in there and you buy yourself something nice, I know you didnt ask for it but I'll do it.

Don't worry though, I'm a good guy, I'll wait for you to pay me back £1,400 in 6 months time, I'll even chuck in a free DVD.

Well to be fair that is an assumption on your part - like I assume they enjoy football, want to raise the game's profile in Thailand, enjoy the prestige of club ownership etc and leave the ruthless profiteering for other parts of their empire.

Who know's where the truth lies?

Is is that hard to be successful in a business where you buy a monopoly on the market from the government?

You're not wrong! I hope you're not claiming that they are 'dodgy' owners!

Free dvd with letter saying they are in it for the long term, it was a nice gesture and trying to reassure fans since i bet theyve read the doom mongers messages on this site and others.

They could easily have not bothered, poeple seem to not realise they have intergrated us into their business empire as a high profile aquisition and they fully mean to be in the premier league playing against teams like ManU', i think the only thing that might get them running away would be if in 5 years time we are still lollygagging around the championship.

Do we know for sure that they want to leave?

have they stated it publicly that they are actively looking to sell the club?

you mention a previous poster providing evidence, was a a statement from the club or owners?

I try to follow the the news of the club best i can, but i would have thought a story like that would have been big (ish) news.

i dont know if they want to leave or not, but as mentioned in this thread, with the money they have spent/ have involved in the club i'd imagine they would want a return whcih would mean finding another buy who could afford their asking price.

possibly that is a over simplified veiw of the situation, as i have never dealt in big business, like buying a football club.
