Steve Howard has left the club

We all knew it'd happen, but it seems to be a formality now judging by his recent twitter activity in the past 24hours. Apparently he's said some of his goodbyes already and it looks like he will carry on playing / coaching elsewhere.

John Percy @John__Percy

All the best for the future to my pal @9howie who has left #lcfc today.#legend

@9howie Heard u said some goodbyes 2day, just wanted to say 'thank you 4 the memories' and that whatever u choice 2 do it brings u happiness

@OneScannell @9howie I told Nigel to find him a job when I spoke to him at awards night, he said he didn't want him to go either.

@andielcfcsutton @onescannell I don't think he meant that!!!!#endofanera

@MarkyMarkPeers @9howie Too late.#A very very sad day for me but I knew it was coming.

A good servant to the club for the past few seasons, but it's certainly time to move on.

Thanks for the memories Big Steve, especially that header against Leeds!

Best of luck Stevie Howard, I've always liked him as a footballer and as a person. Maybe not a Leicester City legend, but always gave 100% when he did play.

A lower league player that knew he was lucky to play at a high level, which is why he always tried. He always said this. Top man.

I'll never forget West Brom away.

He's served the club to the absolute best of his ability and has given us some memorable moments. If he is really going, lets refrain from any 'good riddance' comments. While he is probably below the standard which we need for our current levels of ambition, remember it's been the various managers who have chosen to keep him on an extra season for the past few seasons and I for one am grateful of the effort and variation he has given us up front over the years and wish him luck in whatever he does next.

Never forget that header vs Leeds, never seen the king power jumping like that since, great moment

Good luck for the future Steve :scarf:

Hopefully someone like Charlton will take him on, think they'll need a player like him next season

He always gave 100% to the cause, obviously didn't have the greatest ability but you knew what you'd get from him.

Never forget Cardiff away in the Play-offs he caused them no end of problems.

I'll remember him well for his League 1 season.

I can't doubt his commitment but he hasn't been up to it for the past 2 years so it was for the best that he's leaving.

John Percy has just confirmed it, he's reliable with news about teams from the midlands. He also said Stevie is his friend!

Thanks for your effort Stevie!

I shall add that to the first post, cheers.

One of the most under-rated (at least by people who don't understand football) players we've ever had. It's no shock though, but he could drop down a league and still be a massive force.

All the best Steve, you're the best Josh Homme lookalike we've ever had.

That hat trick at the Hawthorns was amazing. In all my visits to West Brom, nothing compared to that game, which came during a horrible season as well.
