Kitchandro Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Steve Howard - Destoryed Leeds 3 times with 3 last minuite goals. Awesome. I think he'll do well at another lower div club. Hope he comes on tomorrow
RowlattsFox Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 It is the right time, shame we couldn't offer him a coaching role but he probably feels he's got a year or 2 player at League 1 or 2, or even back at Luton.
broughtonblue Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Begs the question why has he been a sub in pretty much every game this season? "he offers something different" well in actual fact he offers nothing at this level anymore and that was quite clear last season, and yet he's been making our subs bench ahead of developing the likes of Tom Hopper. Its time for this club to start planning ahead for once. I keep reading the word legend.. are people actually being serious? Hopefully we can move on now instead of replacing him with another hasbeen in Heskey. My thoughts exactly, both on Howard and heskey

It was suggested earlier in this thread that his moving on was against NFP's wishes, which maybe explains his persistent appearences on the bench i.e. NFP still rates him. I will be pleased to see room made now for younger alternatives.
Jace Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Shame he didn't want to stay to play tomorrow! Always been the 1 player we had who I would most dislike to play against!
lovelcfc Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Always gave 100% and will never forget that header v leeds
TheUltimateWinner Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 To be fair he did really well against Man City... the guy brought something different to the table, and won every header.
Larry_LCFC Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 I dont think anyone can say he wasnt the most passionate and hard working player on the pitch when he got his chance to play. A top man. I wish him all the best!
kimsalabim Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 thank god for that, maybe now Jeff Schlupp will get a chance to show what he can do Tool. Howard has been a brilliant servant to the club, and always gave 100%.
stourbridgefox Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Good luck Steve Howard. Without knocking the bloke, the timing is probably about right. He wasn't getting much game time and it will allow some of the younger strikers to be on the bench. Always have fond memories though !!
seenitall Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Most hypocritical thread ever award, poor sod has been slagged off for 2seasons, including as recently as a week ago. Amazing
Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Most hypocritical thread ever award, poor sod has been slagged off for 2seasons, including as recently as a week ago. Amazing Only by morons who don't know football from cricket.
Libertine Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Most hypocritical thread ever award, poor sod has been slagged off for 2seasons, including as recently as a week ago. Amazing Yeh I'm sure it's all the same people.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Yeh I'm sure it's all the same people. You hold him down, I'll kick him.
Lambert09 Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Most hypocritical thread ever award, poor sod has been slagged off for 2seasons, including as recently as a week ago. Amazing Not wanting him to play anymore and respecting what he has done for the club already are completely different things.
theessexfox Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 I'll miss the way he can make 10 fouls within 5 minutes of coming on.
Jaspa Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 This thread is just too positive for some people in here eh ? Steve has been here through some very turbulent times, and worked very hard and professionally throughout, giving us some very rememberable performances and remarkable results. Time is right i guess (-Leeds) All the best Stevie
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Nice and genuine guy. Gave 100% everytime he played. Obviously wasn't blessed with tonnes of ability but he has made a decent career for himself. He's one of my favourite players for his workrate and for being a fans favourite, but sadly if the club is going to move forward then players like him have to leave. It's as simple as that. Anyway thanks for the last few years Steve. Good luck! Super Super Steve, Super Super Steve, Super Super Steve, Super Stevie Howard
ta-fc Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Never the most talented always the most committed! Will be missed!
Tommeh Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 The shift he put in that night in Cardiff was arguably one of the finest I've ever seen from an individual in a City shirt. A top character around the club loved by everyone whenever I've been aorund the ground/training ground, also the first to meet and joke with the kids, top bloke.
MikeyT Posted 27 April 2012 Posted 27 April 2012 Thanks for everything Steve. Like many others have said, that goal against Leeds was one of my moments I'll never forget. Good luck to you in whatever you do next and thanks again big man. All the best.
