Babylon Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Are you having a laugh? No he's deadly serious... oddly.I don't know how we could ever replace Howard, Oakley, Berner, Johnson, Abe, Tunchev, Moussa, Ball, Pantsil, Weale. They played such key roles for us.
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 I have no idea whether we really had a chance of signing Koren or whether Pearson wanted him or not. However, anyone saying that Koren isn't a good player don't watch the same game/player as I do.

Danny the Fox 95 Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 We replaced Mills who could of been a very good player How? The disappointing Mills has gone, The flambouyant but unreliable fans favourite Bamba has gone, The distinctly average Peltier has gone, Johnson who spent more time at weight wathcers meetings than he did training has gone, the stand out players that were Ball and Pantsil have gone. The only player we don't have now that I'd have kept from this time last year is Fernandes. We've kept the nucleus of the squad assembled last year (the ones worth keeping) Nugent, Beckford, St Ledger, Konchesky, Schmeichel and Danns and added a little bit more experience and a hell of a lot of youth, hunger and determination, as well as some flair and pace. So on what basis is this squad worse than last season? The only thing we're lacking right now is a centre back. Sven bought a squad of individuals, Nigel is buying a team, it's a big difference Mills was sold, but he could of been a very good player for us. No doubt he was talented. But Pearson falls out with most players, e.g. Fernandes, Bamba, St Ledger. He definitely should of stayed and should of been given a chance to prove himself. Everyone says he was awful, he wasn't. Obviously he isn't close to the value we paid for him, but of he had stayed he would definitely be the best centre back in our squad no question. Replacing him with Zak Whitbread, who has had injury problems. Obviously Pearson is much more solid as a manager than Sven for the championship, but I'm still sad Mills has left, and I think he will be a real asset to Bolton this season.
Babylon Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Mills was sold, but he could of been a very good player for us. No doubt he was talented. Well there is doubt because he didn't show it here. But Pearson falls out with most players, e.g. Fernandes, Bamba, St Ledger. Congratulations on naming two people he most definitely didn't fall out with. And another one who he denied falling out with despite RUMOURS. Obviously he isn't close to the value we paid for him, but of he had stayed he would definitely be the best centre back in our squad no question. Even though he wasn't even our best centre back last year.... no question????
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 I only wanted him so that he didn't score his obligatory goal against us. If you're working on that principle we should have signed Darius Henderson! Or Fryatt, or.... Add your own names here....

I don't know where to start. Mills wasn't a good player for us, he was costing us a fortune and on top of that, it seems he was disrupting dressing room harmony. We would have been stupid to keep him. Whitbread was a PL centre half. Mills is nowhere near as good as you think he is. Pearson falls out with most players, does he? Any evidence for that? St. Ledger wanted to be guaranteed first team football. Is that reasonable? NP transfer listed him to help him get first team football elsewhere. Then SSL got back in the first team and has been a regular starter since. Is that a falling out? Fernandes was only here as a favour to Sven. He wasn't hanging around for anyone else. Where's the falling out there? Bamba?! He was starting every match at the end of last season. What are you on about?
Babylon Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 If you're working on that principle we should have signed Darius Henderson! Or Fryatt, or.... Add your own names here.... I think Sven already tried that anyway, half the people we signed were ones who had a good games against us... actually Pearson is doing the same. Drinkwater and Fuctas arrrrgh.
leicesterlad1989 Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Mills was crap, Mills never looked like a good player, never once did I see the potential in him - but he will probably come back and score a hattrick of bicycle kicks next season, such is our luck when releasing players.
