Complaint made against my dog

Recommended Posts

Hi guys received this letter today from Cornwall County Council, what has baffled me about this complaint is I have never owned a dog?

As it is just myself and my girlfriend who live here with no dogs or any other pets my girlfriend has taken some offence to this as I am now making her the main suspect of the barking. What I am worried about is what might happen if they decide to take enforcement action? What if they can't find a dog could they take something else instead? This isn't the first time this week that I have had problems with the Council this week as this is the current state of our waste disposable area that appears to have been ignored now for over 1 month

Any thoughts or advice on what I should do next? Thanks for reading! lol

If theres no Dog they cant do anything

Ask around the area to see who complained and try to resolve the issue

Could just turn out youve got a pr*** of a neighbor

Probably the case.

Get who let the dogs out on full volume and on loop and go out for an hour.

Typical ****ing dog owners never taking responsibility for your dog. I suppose the steaming turds outside are your girlfriend's too. You are what is wrong with this country.

It is quite a polite letter of it's type. I suggest you reply, by email if possible, confirming that you dont have a dog. If the EHO's have had a complaint they are obliged to at least look into it (although I would have come round before sending the letter). There may be another dog nearby that is the problem or as someone suggested above it may be some malicious joker. If they want to sit outside with noise monitoring equipment that is their time and money not yours, though if they don't have the resources to check it out first then they probably can't do that either. Any further enforcement action is a. unlikely and b. would fail anyway on the basic point that you do not have an actual dog.

Maybe they think your girlfriends a dog? Or you one of you make weird sex noises?

You could send them this reply

Dear Trudie

Thank you for your letter regarding our dog. If you wish to come and remove it you will be most welcome. I must point out however that you will have to call in a dog-exorcist to do the job as we do not have an actual living dog living in the house. We do not hear the ghost-dog ourselves but it is said that only animals and the clinically insane can hear ghosts so maybe a word to the social services department concerning the informant may be in order.

I trust this clears the matter up

Yours ever faithful

Write and tell them that you watch "The Hound of the Baskervilles" quite often on DVD because you're trying to be more assimilated to the local culture .
