Dan Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I'm 8th now. Lost at Montpellier and lost in the cup at Lyon on penalties, drew 0-0 at home to Auxerre despite being able to name only 4 subs and then lost 1-2 to Lyon in the league, very late penalty - we had more shots and possession than them despite playing with a 16 year old as a lone striker. I won't do anything like get into Europe, but I'll be very surprised if I go down.
Dan Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Expecting the inevitable downturn in form for Dan's Nantes. He will go winless in 15 and end up perilously close to the relegation zone playing Le Mans, Brestois and PSG in the final three games and embarrassingly losing the first two, only to then think a draw against PSG will be enough, which it won't. Queue much name-calling I actually have Le Mans and PSG but Valenciennes rather than Brestois. Just lost at Evian, absolutely typical of us. Win at Marseille, lose to a team named after fvcking water.

Finnegan Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 St Etienne 0-1 Nantes - **** off: Shen. !! Well done.
Brainy Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 I almost went out of four cup competitions in 14 days Somehow lost to some bollocks mid-table team to effectively end my league title hopes (Saturday) Couldnt manage to beat Besiktas at home despite losing away leg 4-3 (Wednesday) Won the League Cup final (Saturday) Lost a something cup vs Porto (Wednesday)
Brainy Posted 13 September 2013 Posted 13 September 2013 Sporting are £80m in debt Am hopefully gonna bring in around £65m in transfer fees through selling four players, now ive been told elections for the new board have started and the front runner has a personal fortune of £105m. Not sure how much of that i'd be getting my hands on but I have a massive rebuilding job on my hands. -£80m > £34m in just a few weeks, now got £20m to spend and comfortably under the wage budget
Tom17LCFC Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Just gone full circle in mine. After 5 years and 5 league titles at Porto I moved to Barca, had a season there before getting bored and moving to Arsenal. Had half a season there before moving to AC, and 3 months after joining AC I resigned because I just couldn't get into it. Favourite for the AC job was lo-and-behold the Porto manager! He left so I applied for the job and got it. Glad to be back, one of the only teams I've genuinely enjoyed being in this year's FM.
Dan Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 !! Well done. Battered them as well and only broke them down with a late winner. No idea how they struggle so badly every year, got some great players and they made a combined £40mil on Aubameyang/Zouma. I'm somehow as high as 8th. I still think I'm doing well this year considering the circumstances - I've had a 16 year old as a lone striker for about 10 games now. Back on I go
Jordan Posted 16 September 2013 Posted 16 September 2013 February 2023: my Sunderland squad has been knocked out if the cups early, but are defying the odds and look good to avoid relegation. Then, Tottenham (7th, and in the Europa League round of 16) call. $130k/ week for 4.5 years, an actual transfer budget, and they don't care about Premier League performance this season? Bye-bye, North East--I'm going to London, baby! My first few days in charge have been a little tough, though:
FoxLAD Posted 16 September 2013 Posted 16 September 2013 7th after 22 games This thread should be renamed as 'Dan LCFC Football Manager Story!' haha!
Dan Posted 16 September 2013 Posted 16 September 2013 This thread should be renamed as 'Dan LCFC Football Manager Story!' haha! it's shocking how much I post in here/play the game but there you go. Too much time on my hands. Just won 0-5 at Toulouse. Can't believe that one.
Ross-Kemp Posted 16 September 2013 Posted 16 September 2013 I started with a medium database with only the top 2 divisions in Northern Ireland. 1st season - League - Won by 19 points County Antrim Shield - Won League Cup - Lost in the final AET Irish Cup - Won All Ireland Cup - Lost in the quarter final Champions League - Lost 5-1 on aggregate to Malmo in the 2nd qualifying round 2nd season - League - Won by 10 points County Antrim Shield - Won League Cup - Won Irish Cup - Won All Ireland Cup - Won Champions League - Lost on away goals (1-1) to FC RB Salzburg in the 2nd qualifying round 3rd season - League - Won County Antrim Shield - Won League Cup - Lost in the quarter final Irish Cup - Won All Ireland Cup - Won Champions League - Beat Tel-Aviv in the 2nd qualifying round (4-1), then I was up against Levadia Tallin (Estonia) and won 3-2, next up, to make it into the champions league group stage, I had Partizan Belgrade and lost 3-2. Europa League - Drawn in the group stages, 4th seed against Olympiakos, FC Twente and Malaga, and I finished bottom with 1 point (learning experience) 4th season - League - Won County Antrim Shield - Lost in the quarter final on penalties League Cup - Won Irish Cup - Won All Ireland Cup - Won Champions League - Lost 3-1 on aggregate to Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the 2nd qualifying round. I have now added the English leagues to hopefully scout some young players. Adding the English leagues was a masterstroke. 5th Season - League - Won County Antrim Shield - Won League Cup - Won Irish Cup - Lost on penalties in the 5th round replay All Ireland Cup - Won Champions League - Beat FK Zeljeznicar in the 2nd qualifying round but then lost to FC Zurich in the 3rd qualifying round and entered the Europa League. Europa League - I managed to beat Young Boys over 2 legs to make it to the group stage where I was drawn against Braga, Buraspor & Schalke. I finished 3rd with 5 points. I'm currently in my 6th season, I've managed to sign Leigh Griffiths for £1.5million and he's already bagged 50+ goals, I made it through to the group stages of the champions league and I've got several Czech players aged 21 and under worth a few million. Quite possibly my most successful save ever.
Dan Posted 16 September 2013 Posted 16 September 2013 That's a pretty impressive save that is, fair play. Just inherited two very promising 14 year olds. Love the youth squad at Nantes, it's one of the best in France, relied on it a lot and I've turned what I'd say was an average-good youth midfielder into a certainty to play for France one day. The beauty of tutoring...
Finnegan Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Couldn't be bothered getting Rangers back to the SPL?
Brainy Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Manager of Chivas USA on an online game, got Per Mertesacker on a free transfer, 30yo and only wanted £950 p/w. He's an absolute beast, his rating is always about 1.5 higher than any other defender on the pitch
shen Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 St Etienne 0-1 Nantes - **** off: Shen. Just to say, that made my day
Dan Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Just to say, that made my day If you think that's good, then how will you feel when I tell you I beat them at home too? I'm about 8th if I remember rightly with only 5/6 games left. Fantastic season given the fact I've not made a single signing other than a player I couldn't register (although he's a direct repacement for a centre half I've sold). Highlights have been winning 0-5 at Toulouse, winning at Marseille, Lille & AS Nancy (who were flying). Wouldn't put it past me to get money next year and do worse. Can't see it happening though. There is so little money in Ligue 1 it's a wonder PSG don't get over 100 points a year.
