Dan Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 Some of the gameplay is absolutely fvcked, I've seen a simple long ball played through and the keeper, unchallenged, just stands there by the ball and waits for a forward to nick it, it's fvcking terrible really, so unprofessional. Managed to get knocked out the Coupe De La Ligue twice in 4 months, isn't that not far off a record? Sochaux dumping me out with a last minute winner at their place in the first round. Sochaux are this years St Etienne/Monaco, yet another side who have pretty much an entire XI far too good for that league yet they've fell into it and hung on to near enough everyone, cvnts. The league's been far better though. Excluding Clermont Foot beating us 3-2 and 0-2, we're yet to concede more than one in a game and taking out those two games - we've conceded 9 goals in 18 which is sensational really although we don't score loads. Had no luck with injuries as per, top scorer gets a 4 month injury before he's overtaken by another player who gets a 4 month injury, it's pathetic and I swear it fixes it at times so you've got no-one other than youth players in a particular position. Done alright this year though really as I've sold £8.5mil worth of players and spent £1.75mil, yet we look arguably better than usual. The top half is very tight as usual, you lose three in a row and you'll slip to 8th, you win three in a row and you're top three. I'm 5th but really do think I can finally go up this year. In the last 32 of the cup and will be facing AC Arles-Avignon at home, they're a bogey side but we shouldn't have any trouble against them. I tend to take interest when it hits the last 16.
FoxLAD Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 FINALLY managed to get this working again. Starting as Bournemouth.. 1 draw 1 lost so far..

This just happened to me, a long shot rolling on the floor to my keeper and he dives and parry's it just in front of him and the striker just run ups and taps it in, like WTF lost me the game
Leicesterlad96 Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 If anybody fancies setting up an online game let me know
Dan Posted 8 September 2013 Posted 8 September 2013 This just happened to me, a long shot rolling on the floor to my keeper and he dives and parry's it just in front of him and the striker just run ups and taps it in, like WTF lost me the game It's so poor. Certain aspects of the gameplay has improved such as player movement etc... but the amount of stupid things like crosses hitting the bar/going in, ridiculous unrealistic goalkeeping mistakes, it's just shite. Beat Arles-Avignon 2-0 and have, surprise surprise, drawn RC Lens away in the last 16 - the side I sold my key forward to last year, so he's nailed on to stick about 5 past us.
Fox92 Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Fvcked my game up good and proper. Sold my best striker to Manchester United for £17million, got in (what seemed to be) a decent replacement who has scored 20+ for the last five years for £11million. Yeah, he's rubbish. Messed that up, shouldn't have sold Hughes. Currently lost 8 games in a row, morale at an all time low and I've slipped into the bottom three. Finished 4th last year so now I'm getting all this 'underachieving' stuff. Can't seem to be able to turn it around, getting hammered every game. Considering resigning but I don't want to chuck 6 great years at Leeds out the window. I can't win, at all. Tried most things. Was winning constantly in 352, all of a sudden it doesn't work. Change to 442, doesn't work, try 4312 doesn't work, what about 4231? No. My overachieving last season has messed up, my squad can't compete in the two domestic cups, the PL, and Europe. We concede easy goals. "we should mark xx tighter" - he always is getting marked tighter. My players just stand there like clueless idiots... When morale goes this low, they can't even pass to each other. So frustrating.

If you can hold on till Jnauary and bring in a couple of reinforcements, it could make all the difference. You're right though, low morale is poison. Tried holding a team meeting? it could gvie you that temporary morale boost you need, if you manage a win afterwards it could get you out of your slump?
Finnegan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Morale is reasonably easy to turn around. Hold a team meeting and talk constantly to your players. Criticize training and match performance, usually perks them up a bit. Mentoring can work, too, for a quick fix. Pay rises work, if that's an option, also just tell your players to relax before games instead of piling on pressure. Oh and stop swapping your tactics about, you plank. Last thing you should do is keep chopping between systems. By all means have two that the squad know well and change once every season or two if people work you out but keep it steady. This version is so punishing when the team don't know your tactic, it's horrendous.
Dan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 I agree about morale, I find it very easy to keep high and a team meeting does the trick every time - there's absolutely no logic to the team meetings (they really are poor ) yet it often ends well. "No pressure" is a gem too.
Fox92 Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 It's alright lads. I can see the sun over the hill... I've just won two games on the bounce. Somehow managed a win at Anfield, then put three past Blackburn away at Ewood Park. I feel like Paul Lambert. What point of the season are you at? Tried holding a team meeting? it could gvie you that temporary morale boost you need, if you manage a win afterwards it could get you out of your slump? I do think this is key. I'm in the middle of November atm, and I really want to make a few changes. Get rid of the overrated moaners that don't perform and get some decent talent in. Yeah I rekon that was a problem. Shouldn't have done that, first thing needed is a real settled back four and I was a fool for constantly changing it around. I'm playing 4231 now though, pushed my best creative midfielder to the attacking midfielder/center forward role behind the striker; he scored the winner at Liverpool and created two at Blackburn. Think this could be a good change....
Dan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Definitely going up. Won my last 7 and we've only gone and drawn Bordeaux again in the French Cup semis. I'm 8 clear at the top with 9 left. Sochaux, my next opponents, have absolutely nose-dived. I thought they'd piss it but they've somehow slipped to 9th and can't buy a win. This is exactly the kind of game I'll go and lose.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Got top 3 on the last day with Monaco, should be interesting to see how much money they chuck at me.
Dan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Well, I've just drawn away at AS Cannes who are bottom by a mile I'm 7 clear of second with 6 games left, and 10 clear of 4th. If I don't go up it would be even more embarrassing than losing a cup final to Amiens.
Dan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Making hard work of this Thankfully so are the others.
Dan Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Promoted To be honest I'm dead happy with this one. Sold over £8mil worth and only spent £1.5mil of it, yet have improved as a team all-round and have used a couple of 17 year old academy products as regulars. Been a very decent season and I fancy us to stay up.
Finnegan Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 Offering 4/3 on Dan getting relegated and starting a new save.
Dan Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 I'll be amazed if I go down. I tend to do as well against Ligue 1 clubs as I do against Ligue 2. I bet I get an absolutely crap budget.
Brainy Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 Being an international manager seems a tad better than it used to. Me and two mates started an online game ages ago in the MLS, I was Dallas with the other two Seattle and Montreal Impact. I left halfway through the first season and took the job at LA where I turned them from mid-table to MLS winners by the end of the season My mate at Montreal won the North American Champions League, went to the Club World Championship and lost in the final. I left LA and joined Red Bull.... then left, so i'm now the USA manager. Doing my best to annoy the two other human managers in this game by calling up there players for the WC in the summer when their season is still going on (unless they have a break). The best is luring 42yr old Brad Friedel (Seattle #1 GK) out of retirement and also having a chat with Clint Dempsey and upsetting him to the point where he immediately announced his intention to retire from Intl football. We both apologised and all is good However the game continued without me being able to confirm the USA squad for my friendly away to Sri Lanka, 206th ranked country. Friedel wasn't picked and immediately retired from Intl football again saying he was hugely embarrased. I lose 1-0 Can also call players recently injured and ask them how they're getting on. Just get the same generic answers though
Dan Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 Won the league by 12 points, but unfortunately I've been given £80k to spend and next to nothing on wages. This'll be very interesting.
Dan Posted 10 September 2013 Posted 10 September 2013 I have absolutely no idea how we're this far in the shit financially. I sold over £8mil worth of players last season, spent £1.5mil on players, yet here I am after promotion getting £80k?! Shambles. Need another massive season from a lot of my side.
