The standard of players in the alliance league is very very good.

We alone have got 4 1st team Kirkby Muxloe lads, 5 Blaby & Whetstone 1st team lads, 1 who plays for quorn, 1 for Oadby town, and then a mixture of St Andrews and Aylestone Park.

I agree the some of the teams names is shocking my sisters boyfriend plays for Reem Team

Very little difference in standard between Divisions 3 and 6 imo. We're in 6 and have beaten Superfly and Gate Hangs Well (twice) - both division 3 in the past, beat Trinderbox (division 4) and had the better of div 5 sides too. Very competitive throughout.

Agree with what Father Ted says. Div 3 to 6 is a fairly similar standard.

Div 2 and above then takes it to another level IMO.

So that means you play in Division 2?? Pothunters.

AND Alliance league is very physical standard..

Yes we do play in division 2. But when we were formed and went to the meetings the standard of players we had were just about right for division 2 plus the fact that most of them were 18-21 years old.

Then a couple of games into the season we had a load more lads join who are all our friends and yes they probably are too good for division 2. We won't win the league and we won't win a cup because we can't get a full team out every week.

CSKA first team (4) beat Aylestone 2012 (2) 6-1 away from home on sunday yet the seconds lost 12-2 to Humbo 2000 (div 7 v 5) but I believe Humbo have the players to play higher maybe div 3. I'd say div 4 is the right standard for our first team although we hope to compete nearer the top of that league. The second team should finish in the upper parts of div seven

We played Superfly in Pre season and they beat us 4-2 that day. But I've got to say they were a very good team. Very physical and to be honest they bullied are strikers that day.

AFC Bees Knees were another team we played Pre season and we drew 3-3 they had a striker who very fast. They could play in a higher division I think.

We've got oakfield rangers Sunday in the cup and are manager text us saying they are a very good team so I'm expecting a good, hard game Sunday.

We played Humberstone and beat them 7-2. They are definitely not a Div 3 side. They have a couple of good players the rest are very average.

They told us that they struggle to get the same players every week but the side that faced us was full strength. When at full strength they could play higher than div 5

Even though the standard shits over all of the other Sunday leagues?

lol That's a rather massive over statement isn't it? Despite the fact that 50% of all the teams entering every single County Cup Competition come from the Alliance League only 3 alliance league teams appeared in a final out of 10?

It's the best run league in the County no question and defo the biggest and the standard you could potentially argue the standard has the edge over it's main contenderds, but to say it "shit's all over, all other leagues" :o

Causing quite a stir on the Alliance league forum, lol. With a team of that standard and quoting your looking to get to the Billy Walton final suggests that you set out to POT HUNT like many have said.

How would you respond to the calls of you POT HUNTING ???

To beat Leic foxes 5-2 in your very 1st season who only lost 1 league game all last season smashing everyone in their path really does suggest you are POT HUNTING in a lower division than your ability shows.

I've not saw what has been wrote on the alliance league forum and I doubt whoever wrote that actually does play for us. I think we've only on got one bloke signed up to the forum and that's are club secretary.

Like I said in an earlier post when went to meetings we told them who we had signed on and they felt we were just about the right standard for division 2. It was only when the season started that we had the "higher standard" of players signing for us. What were we supposed to do turn round and say no you can't play for us your to good?

Yes we did beat leicester foxes 5-2 but the previous week we lost to Saff lounge 3-2 and north kilworth earlier in the season 6-2. I doubt we will win anything this season as we struggle to get a team out every week. We had 3 players not turn up on Sunday because they had done a 200 mile round trip the day before playing for Kirkby Muxloe.

At the end of the day we are all friends playing together and I'm sure after all the grief the alliance committee are getting about us playing in division 2 they wish they'd put us higher. But they weren't to know who'd we sign just like we didn't until a couple of games into the season.

They'll be even more uproar in the next couple of weeks when Tom Hills transfer goes through to us.

We do struggle to get the same side out every week but if we did we could compete in division three no worries(if this is aimed at Humberstone).

Not a massive over statement at all.

3/4 teams from charnwoid Sunday would stay up in the alliance prem or challenge

Division 1 and some div 2 sides would easily secure safety in the Charnwood Sunday prem.

In a one off cup game, anything can happen. It's very different over a league season. Many alliance league teams are drawn against each other.

No chance Bert, Love to know what your basing that on, for a start off the Charnwood Premier League is only 7 teams large, Birstall Stamford, Wymeswold, Whitwick Compass, and to a lesser extent the Saints are four of the best teams in the County their record at National and County level proves that, FC Hob who have just got promotion are taking points off them left right and centre, so ignoring the strength of the other two Very good teams in there, given the records most of the prem teams have against Alliance League opposition, they wouldn't challange. They'd probably stay up as the league desperatley need to enlarge the division as it's turning into an extremly elite one that no one who is promoted wants to play in (more poor management).

On the flip side put Stamford and Wymeswold in the Alliance Prem, I'd bank one to lift it.

It's not just about the Premier League anyway it's about general standard and I think 1-2 Alliance League there are a lot of decent teams and that is where I will agree compared to CSFL div one it is much better. I'd be suprised if the two CC's below the prem don't go back to the Alliance League this year, although as you get towards 5/6/7 Alliance League and 3/4 Charnwood I think the Charnwood league has the edge again, mainly as our league often fail to spot the legions of pot hunters down there, I'd be supirsied if FC Charnwood don't lift the Sunday Trophy this year and from what I hear possibly Pied Bull the Vase.

I've got no love for the Charnwood League at all to the extent we are considering moving to a league which I will admit is much lower standard than both AL and CSFL in general, just to make sure we get a game of football with a referee and some results and a league table at the end of it all so please do not take my opinion as bias. But the standard is very good in Charnwood and this is generally why teams from our league are always in the later stages of the cups and some of the Prem teams have been in national FA cup Semi/Quarter finals in the last 5 years despite the leagues relatively small size, Loughborough Uni has a lot to do with it.

I have to agree in general. A lot of teams struggle to get their strongest 11 out week in week out.

We've managed that once this season and we won away 6-2 at Global Athletic - could have been 13/14-0, no exaggeration (hit the woodwork 4 times and missed an open goal plus other easy chances). We've had this problem recently, players not making it due to a heavy night the night before, work commitments and injuries have hindered us last couple of weeks. Our attacking 4 (attacking mid, striker and two wingers) when all playing together could play Division 3, possibly 2 at a push but we've only had them all together once this season.

I'd be very surprised if Alliance sides don't dominate the Vase, our div 6 is on fire this season.

Does beg the question, why do Humbo get to a certain level, fold, then reform in the bottom league again lol

Stu, 'Gate Hangs Well' is a pub name but Reem Team is a shite name.

Does it?

It was a tongue in cheek statement but sone of the names..

Reem team

Gate hangs well

Gate Hangs Well is the name of a pub which is why they're named that.

Humberstone have been going for ages? The only reason Humberstone Rangers folded was because of an argument on the committee about Humberstone having a reserves team(Humberstone 2000) the Humberstone Rangers lads pulled out along with the committee and left Humberstone 2000 team to take over the reigns. As far as I'm aware Humberstone always held there own in division three?

Slightly random but are most of your lads made up of lads who used to play for Humbo 2000 youth sides?
