munf1987 Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 . Look out for their massive centre forward, our former keeper. Really would hate to play against him won 3-1, they have a few decent players, mainly French and Becks but im guessing the big guy was playing at cb today, all they had was the long ball while the strikers stood miles of side, their manager is something else though, lucky we had a firm referee today who didnt let there fans scare himoff making decisions
Father Ted Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 Lost 4-3 to Royal Oak after being 3-0 up after 70 minutes. Got injured too at 3-0 after going in for a 50/50 and we went downhill after that. Still cant believe it, ref bottled sending one of their players off too at 3-1 one for a two footed hack from behind and he was already booked. Even their players thought he would be off but ref pussied out of it. Wow.
Bert Posted 14 October 2012 Author Posted 14 October 2012 Lost 6-4. Surrendered a 2-0 lead. Fuming really, they just hoofed it. (Wigston Rangers) should've also had a man sent off. Pleased with my first two goals if the season though.

The league is stupidly tight as I expected it was going to be at the start of the season. Are you going to be fit enough to play on Sunday? Looking forward to the game, will be a big test.

My mate manages LKS. Still spitting feathers now, said they deserved to win. Such a sore loser
Simo86 Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 I'm not talking about Sunday this week. I don't blame you
Maybes Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Another solid performance by our lot. Ran out 7-2 winners vs Humbo. 0-0 at HT
Messi Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 My mate manages LKS. Still spitting feathers now, said they deserved to win. Such a sore loser Ha they didn't deserve to win at all, we started off slow as per usual (had to come back from 2+ goals down on 4 occasions this season to get the win) and we came alive in the second half and they never really had a clear cut chance after that, just long shots and long throws that our keeper dealt with easy. They ain't a bad team and have got potential to win the league, just have a few players who just seem to want to start a fight with everyone. Definitely a tale of 2 halves but with the football produced by both teams we definitely deserved it.

Was a very odd game. Was very tight first half but we took a 1-0 lead into half time with a cheeky 30 yard free kick. Came out into the 2nd half and grabbed two early goals on the counter. Then at 3-0, I got injured and we had a bare squad on the pitch anyway and went downhill from there. At 3-1 too, one of their players who was already booked, hacked down one of our players when he was through on goal with a 2 footed lunge from behind and the ref never sent him off. Even their players and manager couldn't believe it, absolute bottler and it ultimately cost us. We went there missing 6 players that would usually start and would have taken a draw especially with Oak being our bogey side but to throw away a 3 goal lead was sickening. I'm out for Sunday but the 6 players we were missing should all be back due to work rotas/injuries etc so we'll have pretty much a full squad. We've got a fair few tough teams out the way and we havent played the likes of Dukla, Beaver and Admiral who we've got 100% records against so 13 points after this stage is solid. Massive game on Sunday!

Massive game on Sunday! Oak are a solid team to be fair, they will definitely be there or there abouts at the end of the season. Same as us really, as soon as we play you then we will have played all the top teams apart from Sporting Birstall. Disappointed that we lost to red admiral, I along with 6 other key players were missing for that and we had a right makeshift team apparently, so we've got to be happy with our points return aswell. I think we've pretty much got a full squad on Sunday, I know our skipper is missing but think Nick Walsh (Steve's lad) is back and he's a cracking player. All the best mate, probably see you down there.

All the best mate, probably see you down there. Sporting Birstall are a good side, very young, energetic and good on the ball. Just lack a good striker. After Sunday, only top team we've yet to play are LKS. I think Nick Walsh played when we played you in a pre season friendly when we first started, winger I think? Is that Rav Dhillon your captain? I remember him being your main threat last time out.
Messi Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 His brother is a winger mate, he did his cruciate knee ligaments a couple of games after the friendly against you and hasn't played since. Nicks more central. Ravs not the skipper mate, he's a quality finisher but I'm after his golden boot this year 7 from 7 isn't bad from centre mid. Will keep rav on his toes being as he was about 15 goals infront of the 2nd top goalscorer last year.
Tevez Posted 16 October 2012 Posted 16 October 2012 I'm not talking about Sunday this week. DId you play FC Charnwood? They should of been moved up a couple of divisions I think. We beat Poplar 6-0. on Absolute flames at the mo, got a good bunch of lads again. FA Sunday cup against Whitwick Compass on Sunday so should be a good test especially since they've pulled in someone from Gresley to play.

They were good when they played us last year in the cup. They've now signed a couple more decent players that I recognised. They've got the potential to walk our league
Manwell Pablo Posted 18 October 2012 Posted 18 October 2012 Yeah we did. They were good when they played us last year in the cup. They've now signed a couple more decent players that I recognised. They've got the potential to walk our league They Puzzle me, looking at their away results, you wouldn't think they were all that, Niffy Ressies are bottom half division 5 and they just got past them in the County Cup. They played Hugglescote Ressies away and squeezed past them 2-1, dunno what Hugglescote are like but as we've had 2 pretty competitve games against their first team last term I can't see their ressies being capable of giving us a stuffing like Charnwood did. At home however I know they've made us and the Griffin look stupid. You look at last years results and it seems to paint a similar picture, I dunno if they struggle getting the same team away from home. As we'll be one of the longest trips they'll make I'll be interested to see what team they bring to Hood Park.
Bert Posted 21 October 2012 Author Posted 21 October 2012 Nice 7-0 win today. Should've been double figures but we're just pleased with a good performance and win after last week. Got me a birthday goal too
Father Ted Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 Lost 4-3 to Mivan today. Couldnt even go because of my injury last week but pissed off because 4 players who were meant to play never even turned up, meaning we had a bare makeshift 11. 3-1 up as well, terrible 7 days for us.
Manwell Pablo Posted 21 October 2012 Posted 21 October 2012 We lost to Ashby Rover 5-3 AET in our 3/4 cup. No ref, Charnwood league = embarrassing and alternatives will hopefully be looked in to.

Do you know anything about Plough Thorpe Acre? We've drawn them in the County Cup but can find no information on them whatsoever - mostly because they're in the Charnwood league!

I know one of the lads who plays for them, he's pretty decent. I think they've been doing quite well in the league
goose2010 Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 thought our games got a bit tasty nothing compared to what's going on in Coventry! Pub fans in violent pitch fight A HAUL of weapons including an 18-inch MACHETE was found at a Sunday league football game after a violent clash between fans. Razor-sharp Stanley knives and claw hammers were stashed in a bag on the touchline. The match between pub teams The Diplomats and Weavers Arms was abandoned after a hooded thug ran on to the pitch and attacked a Diplomat player — sparking brawls. Children playing on nearby pitches in Coventry, West Midlands, had to be shepherded away. Police had been tipped off after rival supporters goaded each other on Facebook ahead of the game. A local league official said: “I’ve never seen anything as nasty as this incident.†The Weavers Arms team were charged by the FA. But player Robert Sheridan, 25, said: “We know the lads involved but they are not our fans.â€
Soar Fox Posted 22 October 2012 Posted 22 October 2012 Lost 3-2 against Saffron Lounge Bar. Poor performance by everyone of us, probably deserved a draw out of the game though. Got to say the linesman/manager is the worst cheat we've came across. Never in line with the play, there was one incident where he had a bottle of Budweiser in his hand and rolling a spliff in the other one of are players ran through there defender shouted offside and he looked up and put his flag up.

Yeah makes you wonder why you bother when stuff like that happens.
