Happy Fox Posted 8 August 2012 Posted 8 August 2012 Sheffield Utd will probably make the playoffs the most likely contenders for automatic promotion imo are MK Dons and Swindon Town imo.
foxfanazer Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 If Chelsea sign LLorente it could well be their season

BoneDog Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Man Utd Bolton Sheff Utd Burton and Chelsea Bolton MK Dons Fleetwood Doing them both £2.50 each way. Might even go up to £4 each way if it's a flush week.
Fox92 Posted 11 August 2012 Posted 11 August 2012 Just can't see Sheffield United winning the league... They are in trouble with finances, don't have a striker who'll score loads and I'm not convinced by Wilson. Lost to Burton today as well.
Fox92 Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Having watched the Community Shield today, I'm not convinced by Chelsea. I don't think they will win it. Ivanovic (when playing at full back) and Luiz are still not convincing for me. They haven't got another right back, apart from young Sam Hutchinson, either. They've brought in Oscar (will he feature?), Marin (havn't seen much of him tbf) and Hazzard (will take a couple of games for him to settle after watching him today) but does that make up for the loss of Drogba and Kalou? I'm not sure they've got stronger. That's only after one game like, and no doubt I'll be wrong.

I think they'll be really strong this season

I personally thought Manchester City were good/in control for the first 30 minutes. Should have scored one goal at least. (Mind you, Manchester City are one of the best attacking sides in Europe).

Good in possession but I thought when Chelsea went forward they looked more dangerous. Should be a good season
sdb Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Terry, cole, ivanovic, Cahill and David Luiz average? Seriously? Despite defending their way to the Champions League final? I think today proved my point. A couple of backs to the wall clean sheets in two-legged games last season were exceptions to the rule. Terry is past it, Cahill is not exactly world class, Luiz is not suited to the English game at all. No decent right back either, and Cech has been average for years now, bar a little purple patch at the end of last season.

Fox92 Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Chelsea did defend their way throughout the European Cup, but it's difficult to do that over the course of a 38-game season... In a way, I agree with sdb although I think he's being slightly harsh on Cech.
ScouseFox Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Terry proved he's still one of the best centre backs in the world at the Euros, Cahill will continue to improve (I don't think he's that good right now). Luiz I'll give you, bit of a liability, Ashley Cole is still the best left back in the world without question and Ivanovic is capable of playing at right back. They could do very well this year.
purpleronnie Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 I can't see chelsea finishing in the top 2. So get yourself down to the bookies and bet chelsea to win the league.
Happy Fox Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Bolton won't win it, neither will Wolves or Blackburn imo, I think Cardiff City or Birmingham City are good bets.
Fox92 Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 Can't see past Bolton personally. Coyle's been promoted from this division before, he know's what he's doing and some of their players should be excellent in this division; Kevin Davies, Mark Davies, David N'Gog, David Wheater; Matt Mills () etc

Blackburn could excel but with Steve Kean in charge the situation isn't going to improve with fans not backing their team to its full tilt. Birmingham and Cardiff are good bets for the title. Can see us getting that second spot if everything clicks into the place.
