SemperEadem Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 After seeing the Tony Hibbert goal from his testimonial match I was wondering which players for Leicester have been given a testimonial by the club?

Corky Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Hardly anyone has been here ten years. Even Muzzy and Matt Elliott were here for 8.
SemperEadem Posted 9 August 2012 Author Posted 9 August 2012 Just read in the Merc that Richie Norman got one a few years back with us going to Nuneaton.
davieG Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 The origin of the testimonial was based on the fact that players received relatively little pay, the amount of money they get today I don't see why they need one.
Fox92 Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 I went to Steve Walsh's testimonial, can't remember it like. Logan will be up for one soon.
Corky Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Some all-star X1, featuring among others Gazza, John Barnes and Chris Evans.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 There's footage of Walshs testimonial on YouTube im sure. He scores a pen against Gazza who went in goal for it.
Webbo Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 The origin of the testimonial was based on the fact that players received relatively little pay, the amount of money they get today I don't see why they need one. I think Niall Quinn donated his money to a hospital or something.

davieG Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 They don't I would just hope the top players give it to charity. Very few stay at a club for 10 years anyway.
Zingari Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Who was Walsh's against? it was a Brian Little eleven select team
Leicester_Numan Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Frank Worthington had a testimonial, I was there. Good ladies game first then City v Worthingtons XI with Worthington and Brian Little up front
Matt Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 We don't keep players long enough to get their testimonials.
Guest Bilo Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Here's the footage from Walshy's charity match/testimonial.
Jace Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 If players got a testimonial after 3 years we would barely see any Leicester players awarded 1
Raw Dykes Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Here's the footage from Walshy's charity match/testimonial. Gazza in a Leicester shirt! (never used that emoticon before, and probably never will again)
Wymsey Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 Games like these should congratulate (like Walshy) players that played their part in being one of the best players the club has ever had; for all you lot bumming Logan wanting him to get a testimonial, what exactly has he achieved to deserve this? Yes, nothing.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 David Speedie had one due to his early retirement, we lost 3-0 to Chelsea. There was also one for whom I can't remember, that also acted as Pegguy Arphexad and Theo Zagorakis's last match for Leicester, both scored for City with Pegguy scoring a penalty.
