Leicester Lass

Wellens.

Good.

I was worried he'd just come straight back into the side when in reality he's probably no where near good enough.

It's not that he's not good enough, like many people would have you believe, it's that he probably wouldn't fit in with this quick passing, fast paced Leicester City side. In terms of picking out a brilliant pass or reading the game, he's probably one of the best at the club, but he doesn't tend to take one touch too many and slow the game down considerably. Might be a decent option coming off the bench when we actually WANT to slow a game down and retain possession, but I can't see why NP would put him straight back into the side after such a long layoff when the current midfield is performing admirably. I imagine the loan deal is to get him back up to match fitness, he's more than good enough for League 1.

Bloody Pearson and his favourites :D

Pearson lives in Sheffield, now they can come round for tea after training!

didnt wellens used to drive in with Gally - at least they can car share :)

Wasn't there a thread on here about a year ago where some guy reckoned Gally and Wellens almost ran him over speeding around Leicester?

Leave the squad looking small. I imagine its just for fitness, lrobably requested to with his bestest friend.

Good move, he needs match practice big time as an unfit Wellens isn't anywhere near good enough for this level. If he does well there and comes back then he might still have something to offer us.

Good move indeed. Needs to be first team fit before weighing up what to do with him.

I'm unaware of our midfield availability in the development squad though and if this was a temp-to-perm deal then Drinky, King & James competing for 2 spaces in the second half of the season when injuries kick in and take a little longer to recover from is a bit thin for a challenge to the automatics spots IMO.

On the other hand... a lean squad is highly competitive & there's no disenting noises from the stands or more likely these days on Twitter

Does this finally put to bed 'Pearson has favourites'?

Bet it don't.....

No, because the nature of football management means you have to pick the players you think are best suited to the job. ie. Your favourites. Every manager in the history of football has had his favourite players. That's why they sign them and that's why they play them.

I getcha... But you know what I meant.. The allegation that Pearson plays his 'favourites' over players who are 'better', because he don't like them... Etc

Bet he does well there, hopefully come back the player he was a couple of seasons ago.
