Rincewind Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 In parts of America the shitholes are blamed on the Hispanic community. Other countries have their own scapegoats. Leicester has the non-whites. Moose has everyone depending how he feels on any given day.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 I love everything, that's my problem. Are you sure???

The Hispanics actually don't live in as big as shitholes as people make out, most of them voted for the Republicans when Bush was in power.
cambridgefox Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Although much smaller than Leicester,Cambridge is a boring but beautiful city, they even have a university .

It doesn't have to be true for people to have misconceptions.

Rincewind Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 I was thinking of Leicester. They own some properties on New Walk and a few on University Road.

AoWW Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 I find driving through the Fens far more scary than driving through Belgrave.

lavrentis Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 Good Lord. The dinosaur on her shirt is more attractive than she is. I'd say shes got a disability
1964FOX Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 I went down cultural quarter on Saturday and it looked great with all the lights from the curve and athena, it's just a shame 99% of people visiting the city won't see it. It you had all of that along say Granby Street and people walked past it all from the station it would make a great impression. Granby Street has some very nice buildings. The problem is like a lot of the streets right in the centre the lower floors of the buildings have been made to look awful. If you walk along these roads and look up you can see how nice the buildings coud be and probably were originally.

They don't own 50% of Tesco, they own 50% of a bunch of Tesco stores bundled as a property investment.

Babylon Posted 20 November 2012 Posted 20 November 2012 But people don't look up, they look at what's eye level and it's either a kebab shop or an empty shop.
davieG Posted 20 November 2012 Author Posted 20 November 2012 But people don't look up, they look at what's eye level and it's either a kebab shop or an empty shop. Or down to make sure they're not stepping on some recently dropped chewing gum or tripping over a discarded coke/beer can or slipping on some freshly dropped or puked up take away. There are some great buildings above some crappy shop fronts but the council have allowed many more attractive buildings to be replaced by bland, square, grey boxes.
