Alexikokopops Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Agreed, Balotelli shouldn't be near this list. I'd be interested to see how Paolo Bandini (the Guardian's Italian football correspondant, which probably won't come as a surprise) voted him compared to the others. No other reason than curiosity.
Danno Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Neuer Lahm Kompany Ramos Ronaldo Toure Xavi Iniesta Messi Falcao Van Persie
Zingari Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 He's down in 65th place. Casillas, Buffon, Neuer and Cech all better. They're the only keepers on the list. oh thanks i only saw Cech and i got fed up looking at all the pics  I'm still a bit surprised he made the list at all .
Guest MattP Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 WTF is this shit. Balotelli higher than the likes of Cazorla and Modric, Wanyama higher than the likes of Hulk and Sneijder. Top 20 is also awful, Busquets better than Alonso I was laughing at most of it. What on earth?
Yojoe36 Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Why is there goalkeepers on there? You can't compare a goalkeeper to a midfielder now can you? In fact, how can you compare defenders to strikers? Shit list with a shit system
Jimothy Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 How annoying is that listing system? Surely would have been better to have a next button once you open a player to read rather than having to click out of each window to look at the next player.
C-man Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Don't really understand the love for Bastian Schweinsteiger? He's been fairly average for a few years now and wouldn't make a lot of Germans' first XI. To rate him as the best player in the Bundesliga at 19th is absurd. He's not even Bayern's best player! I have so many issues with this list. Mata lower than Yaya and Alonso? Balotelli higher than Robert Lewandowski? Sergio Busquets in the top 20?
AKCJ Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 The fact that seals this list as being utter shit is that Diego Forlan is in there lol

Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Ashley Williams should be on there. He can kill people with a football!
Charl91 Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Ashley Williams should be on there. He can kill people with a football! That's not even funny, in fact it's pretty insensitive. RVP could have died you know!
MC Prussian Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 The fact that seals this list as being utter shit is that Diego Forlan is in there lol He may be getting old now, but Forlán's a beast of a striker. Speed, flair, a wonder of a shot, free-kick ability, technique, good headers - he's got it all. Totally underrated, in my opinion. Glad to see Cavani that high up.

Top 100 in the world is what we're talking about. He's now a flop in Brazil.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 Wanyama, Balotelli, Evra and Luiz in there... :xmasblink: Bale not high enough for me. On his day he's unplayable, even against some of the best sides in the world. Sneijder so far down based on his situation this season yet Drogba's still up there when he's been in China this season?! As ever with these things it's all based on current trends. If this was before Euro2012 Pirlo wouldn't get a look in, a very good tournament and he's now up there with those that have performed consistently for club and country for several years.... Not a bad attempt but still fairly flawed.
ScouseFox Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 Top 100 in the world is what we're talking about. He's now a flop in Brazil. He was "officially" the best player at the last world cup.
AKCJ Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 He was "officially" the best player at the last world cup. Which was 2 and a half years ago
MC Prussian Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 Which was 2 and a half years ago Five goals in 14 matches isn't bad. And yes, I wouldn't mind him playing for Leicester. But I suppose he moved to Porto Alegre to be closer to Uruguay, so no chance of him coming back to Europe I think.
Aus Fox Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 No, it was best ever XI. I can't link as I'm on my phone but the team was: Schmeichel Cafu Baresi Beckenbauer Maldini Gerrard Maradona Zidane Cruyff Pele Ronaldo Great to see Kasper in there, and to think some critise his distribution.
Finnegan Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 What year was that best 11 done and how old was Messi? I can't fathom a reason he'd not be in it, regardless of whether you prefer Messi or Ronny.

Finnegan Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 2010. It was actual Ronaldo as well. Also Messi was on the shortlist as a midfielder. Steven ****ing Gerrard got in to the midfield with Messi left out? What the actual ****?
