I was ill at school on 9/11 in the nurses room waiting to be picked up early, my English teacher walked past and asked how I was etc....

Anyway at home I went to bed and though I had never heard of the WTC before, I knew it was bad, when they shows the second plane hit (from the side on footage) my auntie walked in to check on me and I I'd that they had shown the missile hit the tower.

It was when she told me it was a airliner the the gravity of the situation hit and I watched the news all night.

The next day, back in school my English teacher let me off having not done my homework.

When Diana died I would have been 9 and again, didn't know who she was.

I'm sure it was a weekend day though because I had woken up early and gone downstairs and out the TV on.

Again, I saw the news and ran up to tell my mum who was in tears for the whole day.

As big a news event as it was, 7/7 didn't seem to 'break' like other stories have. Seemed to be a lot of confusion, emergency services pictured outside tube stations & information coming out in dribs & drabs.

One thing that I do remember. There I was watching Crossroads when it was interrupted by a 'NEWSFLASH'. I was only about 9 yrs old at the time & couldn't quite understand what was going on & why we were sitting, watching the outside of a random building in London........then it all started kicking off!!

I remember Princess Diana's death quite well because it was on my 5th birthday. At the time I was only concerned about my birthday but I clearly remember the news reports on the car radio throughout the day.

I can't remember anything about 9/11.

On 7/7 I was at school, so we all found out from the teachers about an hour after the attacks took place. I then remember being glued to the news channel for a few hours when I got home.

When Bin Laden was assassinated I was woken up to be told the news and I fell straight back to sleep again.

Went down stairs after I had woken up again and I switched the news on and couldn't believe it. I thought i'd dreamt it all and it'd happened when actually I was told when I was half asleep still.

So strange.

I can remember Bin Laden easily. It was a bank holiday weekend, me and a mate pulled a couple of birds on the Saturday night and were taking them Alton Towers. Woke up Monday morning to get ready and it was all over the TV.

The date didn't go too well either. The girls hated rollercoasters and were worried about there hair and make up when on the rides.

When I was a young lad I was down the railway yard shooting vermin with my rifle and I saw a big rat run past the back of the book depository, through a picket fence and down the grassy knoll. I blasted a shot at it and the next thing I heard was people

screaming “ the president’s been shot, the president’s been shotâ€

Yes I remember what I was doing when I heard JFK had been shot.

Diana - I woke up around 7/8am for Sunday footy and saw the news. Went upstairs to tell mum and dad and they wouldn't believe me. I was about 10 or 11? Don't remember if I actually went and played footy or not

9/11 - our school had a half day as it was a teachers funeral, me and two mates decided to walk home from Birstall to Anstey instead of getting the school bus as we had a spare half day to kill time. When I got home I couldn't quiet believe it. I was 14

7/7 - I was at work and heard it on the radio. One of my colleagues decided to shout "LETS GO DOWN MELTON ROAD AND BURN SOME PAKIS" amazing way to react. He was dead up for it aswell

I remember the Sunday morning when we heard Princess Di had died. Everyone was saying at the time that they were sick of hearing about it, it's not like the queen had died.By the following week all the same people were totally devastated and had to cry themselves to sleep at night.

Yes I remember it well. I made a fortune selling flowers that I had knicked from the forecourts of over a dozen petrol stations. Drove straight down to Buckingham Palace and made an absolute killing.

Diana: Had spent the night at my cousins in Birstall. Was about 12. Woke up and turned the TV on and couldn't find the cartoon. I remember vividly us searching through every cable (as was around back then) channel looking for cartoons and couldn't find anything so putting a video on instead. Only really when I got home did I properly realise what had occured.

September 11: If I remember correctly, I was in the Library in Longslade when we overheard the staff talking about it and huddling round a tv. Then saw the second plane hit. Left school pretty much straight after that lesson. Heard the 3rd plane had hit just as I'd got in. And was watching the news as the 4th went down.

7/7: My, now ex, missus (or possibly ex at that time, cant remember) was at uni in London, I was at work and just remember phoning over and over to check she was ok, turned out she was in bed... asleep and didn't know anything about it.

is was in the airport waiting lounge after two liver killing weeks in Ayia Napa for the 9/11 stuff. Needless to say, we had a 15th night on the ale with free digs!

Hungover, I went over the road to get some fags from the all night garage at about 8am and was shocked to see the "4am exclusive - Diana injured" headline on p1 of the News Of The World.

Pretty sure Longslade had a half day due to that teachers funeral on sept 11th 2001 so I reckon your confused my friend. Unless it all happened before 1pm our time? I thought it was around 2pm that it all kicked off???

9/11: Had just got home from a band practice when my mate rang me and told me to turn on the news as he said terrorists were attacking America. I thought he was messing about until I turned the tele on and every channel was showing the same thing.

Diana: Had been over at my sister and ex brother in laws house the night before drinking so slept over. Got up next morning and stuck the tv on and there was one of those bars at bottom of the screen saying what had happened.

London Bombings: Was at home when heard and tried to ring a mate I knew in London to see if he was ok and didn't hear from him for hours so was thinking the worst until he text saying all was Ok and he couldn't get through on his phone.

It happened during neighbours, I remember it coming on the BBC after neighbours finished so 2pm, it wasn't known it was a terrorist attack at that point so thankfully they didn't interrupt neighbours. I was watching it round a mates house in Sheffield when I was a student.

Diana I remember as my mum work me up to break the news to me, I think I grunted something rolled over went back to sleep, probably farted for good measure.

7/7 I was working in Poland and my sister was living in London at the time and couldn't get in touch with her for ages.

1969 1st Moon Landing - sat watching a tiny black and white tv with my mum and dad; dad kept having to hit the top of the telly to stop the vertical roll (old skool!!!)

1980 John Lennon - I'd just got on the bus to college when the news of Lennon's assassination came on the radio.

1987 Zeebrugge Ferry Disaster - was in the Merry Monk pub in Rugby when the news broke.

1988 Ben Johnson - was round a mate's house overnight to watch the Olympic 100m final. I couldn't believe the speed of the guy. Equally couldn't believe the news of the drugs a few days later. Actually (edit) I could believe it as it was obvious that he was 'on something'. His body shape changed so dramatically. The same could be said of Florence Griffith-Joyner from the same Olympics. Her times have never been bettered or even approached accompanied by dramatic change in physique and time improvement.

1997 Princess Diana - we were travelling back from France late at night (I had nothing to do with the accident!), went straight to bed when we got home and woke up to only a picture of the Union Flag on the tv screen.

2001 9/11 - I got married on the 8th of September and we'd just got home from the hotel when the news broke.

September 11th I can remember coming from the hospital in a taxi and hearing on the radio that a plane had just hit the world trade centre, I was about seven

About seven?

Surely you know what age you were on a given date?
