Can you remember where you were when you heard some really important breaking news. Like for example Princess Diana's death, September 11th, london bombings... any others can you think off?

September 11th I can remember coming from the hospital in a taxi and hearing on the radio that a plane had just hit the world trade centre, I was about seven and I remember rushing into the house when i got back once I sat down, the second plane had just hit the other tower. It was just weird that day it was like the world suddenly stopped.

Can remember George Best's death, I was in music at school. Can remember the front page of the Sun reporting Brian Clough's death as well. Not sure why I remember them so well, probably because they are both legends. London bombings, I was in PSE at school. Can't remember 9/11, or George Harrison's death, both in the same year. Too young to remember properly.

I remember the Sunday morning when we heard Princess Di had died. Everyone was saying at the time that they were sick of hearing about it, it's not like the queen had died.By the following week all the same people were totally devastated and had to cry themselves to sleep at night.

London Bombings I can remember well because it was the same day as my induction day at my secondary school, I was at school all day and heard nothing about it, not even from the teachers. I remember coming home on the bus later I overheard somebody mentioning and then of course walking into the house seeing Sky News on.

Proncess Di I had been out in Brum for my boss's birthday, vaguely heard it on the coach we all had back to Burton, them forget as I was pissed. Driving home next day was wondering why radio 1 was playing miserable shit..

911 was on a CIMA course in shepherds bush, got some texts, them stood watching tv in the window of a shop on the green with loads of other people.

I was watching telly one morning at ran upstairs to my Mum shouting "Diana's dead, Diana's dead."

Her best friend is called Diana.

I was at home when I heard about Diana dying, is it bad that I wasn't all that bothered? I do remember getting in trouble at school the next day for cracking jokes about it, something about her favourite sausages being 'wallbangers.' This is quite witty considering I was 13 at the time.

I heard about 9/11 on my way home from school, I didn't crack jokes about that one for at least a week I'll have a week.

I'm feeling really old reading the above,as they seem like yesterday to me.

Remember going windsurfing with my cricket club for a little jolly the day Diana died, the mood was sombre until we saw each other in our wetsuits.

Remember the Space shuttle Challenger 1986 blowing up,I had a private tutor for Maths after school which my parents had arranged in a nearby village,it was shocking, but I tried it on by telling my mum I was too distraught to go.plan failed,I bloody hated it.

The day Diana died I scored an absolute beauty, picked the ball up about 30 yards out on the left, went round 2 or 3 (could have been 8) and left pegged it into the roof of the net from an acute angle just outside the 6 yard box :trumpet:

Remember being picked up from school and mum telling me about what happened to the World Trade Centres on 9/11. I genuinely had no idea what they were. I was only 10 at the time. All I knew was that in the car mum was explaining how 2 planes had pummelled in to 2 of the world's tallest towers. I do remember, however, going home and seeing the damage of the 2 planes crashing in being relayed and replayed for the rest of the day.

I don't remember Princess Diana's death all that well either. I was only 6. I remember mum and dad being especially upset about it given how much of an icon she was.

Given how recent it was in comparison and various circumstances, I definitely remember 7/7 much more vividly. Main reason being dad was working in London at the time and I was so fearful that he may have been on one of the tubes that got bombed. I was so nervous and anxious. I don't think I've ever waited for a phone-call so much just to hear that he was okay and wasn't on one of those tubes.

I was at work on september 11th and when someone told me that the twin towers had collapsed I honestly thought they were talking about wembley, no joke although I'd seen these buildings on tv before I never knew what they were.

September 11th was one week before I was moving off to university. I was round at my friend's house watching it all happen on the telly in disbelief. My other mate, who was a bit of a hypochondriac, was complaining how the whole thing was making him feel physically ill. He complained more and more until he decided to go home to bed. We left him be and carried on watching the disaster coverage. Three hours later, my mate was in Leicester General having his appendix yanked out. Osama's fault, that.

I was on my way to a guided tour of the old Wembley stadium the day Diana died and just got off a plane and on my way into London on 7/7, wasn't pretty.

I also remember my birthday card wasn't shown on CBBC because of the Lockerbie bombing.

I remember where I was when I heard John Lennon had been killed. I was at my Nanna's house when I heard Elvis had snuffed it. Watched the space shuttle Challenger disaster live on TV.

Had been on an all-dayer, was pissed out of my brain, sitting in a taxi rank on Narborough Road when news was coming through of an accident involving Diana. I can remember thinking "big deal". Little did I know how the world was going to react.

Was at work for 9/11. A workmate came over & said "oh yeah, have you heard about the twin towers?". He said he had heard on the radio 10 minutes before about a plane flying into the WTC & he didn't think it was worthy of mentioning sooner??? We had a TV in the room & watched the 2nd plane hit the WTC & the rest of it. There must have been nearly a hundred of us stood around glued to the TV.

The day before Princess Diana died I had been out in town and had a few to drink.

I stumbled downstairs on Sunday morning remembering I had said that I would go to watch the cricket with my sister and her boyfriend. I rang her up to make arrangements. She said, 'well I don't think its going to be on, do you?'. I looked out of the window. It was a bit overcast but quite bright, as if it would clear up later. So I replied, 'its not that bad, I can't see why it won't be on'.

After a judgement laden pregnant pause, my sister asked if I had heard any news today. I hadn't so she suggested I put the TV on.

I still don't see why the cricket had to be cancelled.

I heard about the Twin Towers while sitting behind a stand extolling the virtues of Hartman egg boxes at the Poznan International Trade Centre.

Can't really remember a lot about Diana's death just got told at football on the Sunday morning that we were having a minutes silence.

September 11th I was 14 just finished school and my mum told me when she picked me up. Got home and another one had just hit it.

7/7 bombings, I'd just finished a driving lesson walked through the front door and my mum was trying to ring my sister as she lives in London, that was quite scary as she didn't answer for a while.

Can remember Diana's death, was at home with my mum, my Dad had gone fishing with his mate in Derbyshire, and we switched on the news and of course it was breaking, when my Dad got home he just said have you heard the shocking news, the guy who owned the fishery ran down to me and told us what had gone on.

September the 11th, think I was at School when the news broke, or I might of been off ill, but September 11th is also my mum's birthday I can remember sitting with her, with the tv on, probably watching Children's television until it cut off with breaking news, just truly shocking watching events unfold.

Can't remember too much about the London bombings.

I can remember waking up at my grandparents the morning Diana died. Thought she'd been up to something as her face was behind the newsreader, there was no indication she had died, and she was in the news most days back then, plus I was half asleep. Just remember watching the news for the rest of the day.

9/11, I had just walked on from college and put the tv on. Literally the moment I pressed on was the moment normal shows broke off for the news, so the tv was just blank for a minute, I thought I'd broken it. I just sat there in disbelief all afternoon, pretty much watched the 2nd hit live on tv. Horrowing stuff.

I remember a few others as well like Dunblane, but weirdly the most recent, 7/7 I haven't got a clue where I was or how I heard the news. Same with the Asian Tsunami.

When Bin Laden was assassinated I was woken up to be told the news and I fell straight back to sleep again.

Went down stairs after I had woken up again and I switched the news on and couldn't believe it. I thought i'd dreamt it all and it'd happened when actually I was told when I was half asleep still.

So strange.
