It's a classic PGA leaderboard, they're always weird early on. 

 

Scheffler at -2 despite having a very weird day looks ominous to me.

That's the only saving grace for those a way off at the moment; it's pretty likely that the lead won't be a much higher score today than it was after day 1.

 

That's the thing with Scheffler, his bad golf is still pretty good. Maintain that with everyone at their absolute best, Rory comes out on top. But if everyone was playing their middle level, Scheffler cleans up.

Apparently Rory had to change his driver just before the opening round due to a non conformity issue. 
 

he  hit 4 of 14 fairways on Thursday

Scottie hasn't even played that well(by his standards) and he's only 3 shots off the lead.

I had a look at the betting at some point yesterday, Vegas was -10 midway through his R2, Scottie hadn't even teed off R2 and Scottie was marginal favourite to win.

Those links bunkers are a different gravy to the hard builders sand shit you get around here

I had one the other week that had about half an inch of sand in it at the bottom. My clubhead bounced up off the hard base and thinned my ball through the green. Pissed me off no end.
