Of course it would have been nice to have a competitive Sunday, but Scottie was just too good.

I enjoy seeing a golfer playing at such a high level.

Congrats to Scottie on his 1st Open win

I think I love his wife to be fair 😂

Gets on my nerves a bit all this with the family on the green as soon as the last putt is holed. Surely there must be a time limit before he goes to the recorder's office to check & sign his card & bear in mind his playing partner is waiting there & cannot leave.

Never used to happen in the days of Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer

Americans certainly dominated the leader board .

Good to see Bob McIntyre well placed again .

Is it my imagination or do recent opens suffer from a lack of a windy day or two ??

that will favour the Americans (or at least it favours the locals less)

No certainly wasn't like the last time Portrush hosted the open!

Maybe just a sign of the times weather wise generally?

Blimey who upset you? Was it because an American won The Open?

Golf needs to be more relaxed and not stuck in the 1930s with all the rules and etiquette pieces, make it more accessible, less snobby. This "never happened in my day" prehistoric attitude is just nonsense, the world moves on. Either you move with it or it moves past you.

Would love to hear your views on golf hoodies, bet you had a stroke when Hatton/Day et al wore one.

Americans have been consistently winning The Open since they first started coming over to play it in the 1920s. I don't think the wind (or lack thereof) is going to make much of a difference to that. Besides, it gets incredibly windy in Texas, where Scheffler is from, so I doubt it would bother him in the slightest if it was windy.

The best golfers will usually cope with varied and unusual conditions

my (uninformed) view would be that when the wind doesn’t blow, the more average US golfers will be more likely to make the top 10 than when it does

English amateur Lottie Woad currently tied for the lead at the Evian Championship major. This after winning the Irish open last week by 6 shots. Seriously impressive, regardless of where she finishes today. Could be a dominant force in the game when she turns pro.

Wins her first tournament after turning pro. What a talent.

I can't believe Charlie Hull hasn't won a major. I hope she's not the next Colin Montgomorie. (I've set up a joke for myself there, but I'm way too woke to make it)

She's a fantastic golfer but never has been a prolific winner. She's only won 7 tournaments in her career to date.

I think the perception is of her being a much more dominant force than she is in reality - largely due to her personality/social media presence and the fact she's exciting to watch.

I'd expect Lottie Woad to surpass Charley's career win stats within 3 years.

Can Tommy close this one out?

I’d really like him to, but with HIM being 3 shots back, and Rose who’s in outstanding form this year, I can see both overtaking him. I hope I’m wrong though.

Rose surely has to make the RC team (as a Captains pick)
