Watford- dangerous

Are you sure you'll be allowed to, as according to some on here you've got Udinese's finest playing for you, and you're taking Di Natale on loan for the play off final.

They won't need him for the play-off final, they'll finish 2nd.

Natalie Cassidy maybe.

Fair play to Watford, no rules have been broken and they are doing great.

Ha! Not sure about that. There was a video of him on the Udinese website at xmas wishing Zola and the lads good luck for the season. Personally I think he's itching for a move! Video here if you want a laugh, its pretty bizzare! http://udinesecalcio.portals.twww.tv/video/c99a4b5870edc46dc5f98129c9361046.html

Truthfully I think we were given players they felt could do a job in this league. None of them were in their first team, having been out on loan or injured. Credit to all of them, they've all come with a point to prove, and the level of commitment is fantastic. They have all made a huge effort to speak the language which has been a big plus for the fans.

That said, they had spent at least 10m overall on the players that we were given - so there is no shortage of quailty from them

Well I'm disgusted by that.

A blatent example of yet another unfair advantage, having seasoned internationals wishing you the best, that'll give you such a morale boost and a massive advantage over the rest of the league.

The sooner UEFA put sanctions in to stop this sort of thing, the better.

Anyway, I'd love to see Leicester and Watford go head to head for 1st and 2nd.

Cardiff's squad to me seems pretty average, and they've been unimpressive every time i've seen them. They have definitely found consistency though which is absolutely vital in this division.

We weren't best pleased when Mackay left after promising to stay, and even less impressed when he took 3/4 of our backroom staff. He has a habit of fluffing his lines, and a couple of losses will test what they're really made of. Still 54 points to play for, a lot can happen.

You are aware you were the one who brought up Di Natale, not me or anyone else, but I am in no way comforted by what the Watford fan has said, if it is true that Pozzo is focusing all his attention on Watford as he believes them to be the more profitable club, that is disrespectful to Udinese.

One man should not have an owning interest in more than one club because he can ensure that one club, the more profitable club gets an advantage at the expense of the other clubs, the Watford fan has pretty much admitted that is what Pozzo is doing.

At all three clubs it is Pozzo's employees, he is the owner and he can, if he wants, ensure that any player is sold between the 2 clubs for whatever price.

And it is nothing even remotely like our transfer dealings with united and saying so makes you look clueless.

A question for the Watford fan, how much did you pay for the guy you have signed?

Yes and your the one who seems to think it's only a matter of time before someone like him plays an important cup final, which is utter tosh.

haha you say Udinese are going to sell Watford cheap players just because their owner says so and then call me clueless lol.

He's already said Watford are suspected of having spent 10 million pounds on all six players in total. This is what you really don't seem to grasp, Udinese are selling players for their own interest, they are not doing Watford a favour. A owner of a football club cannot instruct Udinese's management and board to give/sell or loan players to Watford unless they want to. And how do you think Udinese fans would react to it, your living in cloud cuckoo land.

And I've already said, about three times, I'm not saying it's the same relationship between us and Man U, I am just saying there is one. One that benefits us greatly!

This whole conversation is making you look clueless!

The ownership is different between all 3 clubs, with his son owning us for example. As such, there are no conflicts of interest

They are big football people, and their reasons for buying Granada and Watford were in keeping with their philosophy at Udinese. They want to try and take clubs with a smaller fanbase to a higher level (we have roughly the same attendances as Udinese for example). They want each to be successful in their own right, and for all of them to be financially independent.

Sure the player trading is slightly unfair. But after years of seeing sides spend endless amounts of cash on players, while we scrape by - you can understand if we're not sympathetic.

The lad Forestieri did sign on a free, but his contract was up at the end of the season anyway.

On a slightly ironic note, we're likely to face fines (or points deductions) from transfer dealings done by our shyster of a former owner, Laurence Bassini.

I read it as though these players cost Udinese £10m, not that Watford have spent that.

I'll be amazed if thats true.

I know for a fact at least two of them were free. And Battocchio was nicked as part of their South American scouting network and was about a hundred grand.

Looking at it he could be including their wages in that, all though that still looks way out.

Total transfer fee's it looks like Udinese payed less for all six of them than the total would have been for Matt Mills

Ekstrand - 2m

Vydra - 3.2m

Forestieri - 3m

Neuton - 2.6m

Geijo - 2.2m

Pudil - 1m

Beleck - 500k

Battochio was from their youth side, Abid was a free, Cassetti was signed specifically for us

Looking at remaining fixtures I think it's going to be extremely close. Can see the top 6 being well clear of everyone else. Think second is between us, Watford and Mboro.

Pudil is from Granada is he not!

Erkstand was 1.5 Million Euros!

Forresteri I thought was less than that as well

Neuton and Geijo again I thought both were less than that, much less but if you've got a source.....

You actually do have far too many loan players lol

EDIT: Battacho aint their youth product he was pinched as a teenager

You are still missing my point massively, I'm not accusing Watford of doing anything wrong, I'm not saying that Watford and Pozzo are going to do something wrong, although the Watford fan has admitted that they have benefited from these transfer/loan deals and got them cheaper than perhaps they should have done.

What I am saying is that having invested interests between two clubs and anything other than a fair and open business relationship, like we have with United, should be regulated to ensure there is no abuse, I'm not saying Watford have abused it, I'll leave that to the Watford fan, but in a modern footballing world where club owners have and will do anything they can to gain any sort of advantage there needs to be regulations before there is serious abuse and having invested interests in multiple clubs becomes commonplace.

TBH Forest were pure shite on Saturday (good!) so Watford were all over em....

weve been all over piss poor teams before recently so not to worried...

Also they are more likely going to beat Bristol City who are just as shit as Forest...

Basically I hate Forest... and Notts County.....

Granada & Udinese are owned by Daddy Pozzo, Watford belong to Sonny Pozzo.

I'm aware I was talking about Udinese specifcally though.

This is getting boring now and seeing at the Captain is now insinuating signing out of contract players on a free is a unfair advantage, I'll be off, as this conversation has gone past the point of lunacy!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree- in any businesses where you have family members working together or any business who is owned by someone who is trading with other business who is owned by a member of first business owner's family, there is going to be a conflict of interest or at least the potential for conflict of interest.
