Watford- dangerous

I know people will say how we should just concentrate on winning our games but watford are looking very good at the moment and i think will be our biggest threat for an automatic place.

Spot on. I agree with both of you, Watford are beginning to worry me (and go 2nd if they beat Bristol on Tuesday) but if one team will stop Leicester getting top two this year, it's Leicester.

I will explain my edit.

If we hadn't had such a hardtime this season trying to get some of the unwanted players off our books, maybe we would have been able to purchase players which will actually get playing time and therefore have better strength in depth.

Can people stop banging on about Watford. We are second, not them. There's no need to worry about them until we start to worry ourselves.

Teams like Leicester shouldn't be shit scared of teams like Watford.

But it isn't watford I am worried about....It is Udinese :o

True, if you were given the following info for a bet: "Serie A team vs Championship team", you'd be pretty foolish to put your money on the latter.

If you were told that Championship team was Leicester however... ;)

I'm not scared of Watford, I am scared of Udinese.

EDIT: Oops should have read other replies first. :P

Until Tuesday. Then they will be second. Why would we not be worried about a team in better form who score more goals, have a better away record, have an endless pool of European players to call upon if needed, and can close out games with diving and timewasting the way no other Championship club could bring themselves to do?

We've got a better home and defensive record!

We are currently above them so its ours to loose, there is still a long way to go, both of us will drop points, pointless being worried at this stage, however if they are still going like this in April then we can worry.

Wish I'd have had a bet on Watford getting promoted at the start of the season. Bet the odds were pretty nice.

They've got a great chance this year, but hopefully we'll take 1st or 2nd and leave others like Watford with the stresses of the play-offs.

Don't you think there's something wrong when a championship team can loan in an entire serie A squad at will? It's incredibly unfair.

Well we certainly don't play them all so not sure if its as unfair as people might think although I understand people questioning it.

Even Zola did admit we had too many...only 5/6 are really key I'd say.

A couple have already gone back.

I wouldn't worry about it, this is all a bit pathetic to be honest.

There has been some serious over the top bitching about other teams on here recently, apparently Zaha shouldn't be allowed to be loaned back to Crystal Palacce and Cardfiff should be playing in Wales, quite obvious some of supporters would rather someone hands us promotion than having to work for it.

I think there is a big difference between what Watford are doing and the Zaha incident, and I do hope the FA and UEFA look into it, or you are going to get more owners looking at purchasing feeder clubs in foreign leagues and I don't think that is good for the game.

Well clearly Cardiff are our biggest rivals, being miles ahead and being able to win consistently when playing shit.

I think it's unfair how Watford have loaned so many players, would love to see Vydra get recalled and put in the Udinese side. Hope Watford don't go up.

Why is it not good for game? Teams have been using feeder clubs for years, that would mean our ties with Manchester United aren't fair. What you mean is it's not good for Leicester City.

Only 5/6 of your free loans are key players? Oh, nevermind then. :pearson:

In seriousness; it's entirely up to the owners how they want to distribute their capital (which, let's face it, is what players amount to these days) between their teams. That said, it does feel like a slightly unfair advantage given that (most) other teams have a much more limited freedom to bring in new players (that includes us these days, whatever other teams' fans think). We aren't in much position to talk though with the way we tried to use silly purchasing power under Sven, just far less effectively.

Still, we have one advantage that Watford will never have: NFP (Nigel Fvckin Pearson).
