Guest ttfn Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Nobody was moaning about Watford's loanees when they were mid-table - it just seemed a bit quirky. Moaning about it now is as pathetic as those Cardiff fans complaining about Wood playing against Huddersfield. They've broken no rules - good luck to them.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 They are having a really good run at the moment but that's all it is in my opinion. Several teams have already done the same at various points in the season and failed to sustain it - us, Palace and Blackpool being the most striking examples. I'd be surprised if Watford turned out to be any different and I see us wining more games between now and May 4th than them.
Webbo Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Why worry about things you have no control over? The only thing we can do is to make sure we beat them when we meet, everything else is pointless.
Kitchandro Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Until Tuesday. Then they will be second. Why would we not be worried about a team in better form who score more goals, have a better away record, have an endless pool of European players to call upon if needed, and can close out games with diving and timewasting the way no other Championship club could bring themselves to do? They will be second only when they've played more games than us or if we start to lose form. Assuming they keep winning. We've just won 4 legaue games in a row, why on earth should we be bricking it that another team are in good form? Enjoy the way things are going. What are you a man or a mouse?
z-layrex Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Why is it not good for game? Teams have been using feeder clubs for years, that would mean our ties with Manchester United aren't fair. What you mean is it's not good for Leicester City. How you can compare what Watford have done to our good relationship with Man United I don't know.
Guest Bilo Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 They've hit a good vein of form, we haven't dropped below 5th since September. Consistency is on our side; they've just come from nowhere, spooking everyone in the process. We've been there all season, I just don't see us falling away.
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 How you can compare what Watford have done to our good relationship with Man United I don't know. Quite easily. It's a feeder club relationship. Just a big deal gets made out of it in Watfords case, as they have the same owner as Udinese. They're second string mid table Serie A players at the end of the day, not exactly the kind of players I'd expect to be playing so well in the Championship so fair play to Zola for making it work. As has been said no one was making a big deal out of it when they were mid table.
demon_dog Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Hopefully we'll be in the driving seat by the time we play them. Could mean the last home game of the season will be very interesting.

I'm not getting my hopes up at all for at least another 6 weeks, this is Leicester we are talking about.
dmayne7 Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 True, if you were given the following info for a bet: "Serie A team vs Championship team", you'd be pretty foolish to put your money on the latter. If you were told that Championship team was Leicester however... Seire A is a pretty weak league now. You only have to look at the fall of teams like Inter and AC to see that. Juve barely have a challenge in that league and any good players at smaller clubs leave for bigger clubs. You don't really hear about big names going Italy, just them leaving. The bottom sides in Serie A would struggle against a lot of championship sides. I'd be inclined to bet on the championship team
Harry - LCFC Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 I think it's a bit naive for people to just say "all we have to do is keep winning" and that we shouldn't be concerned about other teams. Quite clearly other teams do have an impact on our season, they're the people we're competing against after all. If they get 35 points from the last 18 games then so do we. If they get 40 points from the last 18 games then so do we. Would anyone disagree that the better they do the harder it is for us to achieve promotion? Therefore there is reason to look at how they do as it absolutely does have an affect on us and it's a little immature to say otherwise.

Agreed, they've done what they can, within the rules, to help themselves. It's like the Cardiff should play in Wales argument, this wasn't heard when they were in the bottom division was it? Now it affects us we're all against it, unfair etc.

Watford have been on a good run of form since the start of November during that time they have amassed 33 points from 15 matches and Leicester have 25 points from the same amount of matches I wouldn't say that maintaining that sort of form over 3 months is a flash in the pan

It's like the Cardiff should play in Wales argument, this wasn't heard when they were in the bottom division was it? Now it affects us we're all against it, unfair etc. People making that arguement now are pretty weak, agreed, but lots of people have been against them being in the football league for a long time. Why would we be talking about it if they're not in our division? Its a Leicester forum after all, so the topics tend to be about Leicester and our league. That's why you only hear about it now because we don't exactly have a rivalry with Cardiff to the extent where we'd be talking about them when they're in a different league.
ScouseFox Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Didn't we have basically a full team of loanees under Sven when we were charging up the table? Naughton, Mee, Davies, Cunningham, Yakubu, Vitor, PVA and Kamara off the top of my head in the space of a few months, most at the same time. Could well have been one or two more. Nobody on here complained then did they? When it was us using the system, perfectly legally, to our advantage. Edit - Bruma was here on loan then, too. So that's 9 loanees and they were all here at pretty much the same time, and there was definitely some games where we had to leave someone out because we had too many in our squad.

I remember one or two of the tabloids raising concerns at the time, something that hasn't happened this time round with Watford.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Said this a few weeks ago.. Watford are THE team to be having that run.. One team usually comes good every season. And in Vydra they have a bloke who is scoring for fun. IMO they are big rivals for the second spot.
lestajigs Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Bristol city to beat watford Tuesday, you heard it here first
Bluetintedspecs Posted 27 January 2013 Posted 27 January 2013 Stop worrying about others and concentrate on ourselves. Or should I be concerned about a Posh or Brizzle late run?
