cjslcfc Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 James just came back from a knock vardy isn't good enough for me, really thought futacs should of played instead of both tbh. I was shocked we didn't play 4-2-3-1 We have proven that we really can't play that well playing like that
Bluetintedspecs Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Peterborough raised their game and we dropped ours a level. If we'd capitalised on our goal we'd have got home fairly comfortably, but we didn't and let them get back in charge. Oh yes, the referee can have some criticism. Useless and inconsistent. Pretty much how I saw it too Corky! Disappoiting but fortunately results worked in our favour We just have to move on and put this behind us. I'm sure there will be plenty more twists and turns to come and still firmly believe our overall quality will see us through
marbelladave Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 The primary problem today was not Vardy or Waghorn, it was not the midfield, the tight pitch, the lack of a big man or even the fooking referee....... It was the way we simply stopped competing about five minutes after Marshalls goal, we just sat back and allowed them to come on to us, we stopped tracking and marking and our defending lacked any semblence of organisation and authority. As I said above, we have seen this before, it seems to be embedded in the psych of our club, I have seen a lot of our games since returning to England in 2008 and this has been an issue for most of that time. Pretty much all of the players have changed in that time so if it's not the players it must be something else........

I feel a bit like a clairvoyant at the moment when I made my Facebook status first thing today "Good on Watford and Palace for sharing the spoils yesterday but now watch us go and lose to Peterborough!". Hmmm, best not make any more of those predicitions and to rub it in, I didn't bet any money on it either!
marbelladave Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Blame Wellens? He was on the bench today after all... Decent call, it makes about as good sense as blaming Vardy....... Now what was the score when we took Vardy off.......
Bluetintedspecs Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Decent call, it makes about as good sense as blaming Vardy....... Now what was the score when we took Vardy off....... Exactly!
cjslcfc Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Decent call, it makes about as good sense as blaming Vardy....... Now what was the score when we took Vardy off....... Why don't we go all the way and blame Beckford while we are at it. After all, it can't possibly be more than one player's fault and we've already run out of other options

cjslcfc Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Que?........... I thought I went out of my way to point out that it was a team problem....... And here's when the lack of tone brings confusion. It's not like I was being serious. Merely mocking those who would say such a thing Hope that clears it up
kingfox Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Ok people, sound opinions.. So's mine. As has been proven many times this season it's our AWAY form that could wreck our auto promotion chances. Today is no exception. It's the midfield.. We needed to tighten up there in Jan IMO. What is the answer though Col? How about Richard Chaplow on loan?
One Arm Babba Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 If we can't beat teams like the posh then if we fail to get promotion there can be no complaints.
Guest ttfn Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 What is the answer though Col? How about Richard Chaplow on loan? Or we could use the players that have got us in the automatic promotion places 2/3 of the way through the season.
kingfox Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Or we could use the players that have got us in the automatic promotion places 2/3 of the way through the season. But we don't have enough players. Who would you rather have on the bench, someone like Chaplow or an ageing Wellens?
marbelladave Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 And here's when the lack of tone brings confusion. It's not like I was being serious. Tom17LCFC Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 I think the thing with King over James is that with James injured recently, King's stepped up to the plate and filled in fairly well. Someone mentioned in the match thread, that even though James is now fit, what sort of message would it send out to the fringe players (Dyer, Vardy, Waggy etc.), if you play well but then get dropped as soon as a player recovers from injury. The criticism of Drinky's fair enough. I've noticed when he's not on form we struggle. He completely dictates our play. Everything comes through him. Off day today overall but we're still 2nd, can't have any complaints about that.

King was one of our better players today, very good defensively though he remains someway off his best as an attacking threat. Drinkwater played well enough for about an hour but a passing player with no one making themselves available to take the pass is, by and large, pointless........ The last 30 minutes or so were painful......
Guest ttfn Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 But we don't have enough players. Who would you rather have on the bench, someone like Chaplow or an ageing Wellens? Neither are going to get on anyway. Given that we're already paying for Wellens;Wellens.

lestajigs Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 ****ing nuts when we scored was that a flare hahahaha brilo
kingfox Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Neither are going to get on anyway. Given that we're already paying for Wellens;Wellens. Well Col what's another central midfielder again, only realistic option for a loan signing I could think of was Chaplow. Our back up is weak, bringing on players like Dyer who is hit and miss, Vardy, Waghorn and Futacs isn't quite good enough. We need better in depth, than the likes of Wellens, Gallagher, Vardy, Waghorn and Futacs.
Dan Posted 10 February 2013 Posted 10 February 2013 This has been coming. Should've known really, we got lucky against Wolves, arguably lucky to avoid defeat at Huddersfield and I'd say we were probably fortunate to come away with 3 against Middlesbrough too. That was well unacceptable though. No excuses at all like "we rarely do well here", that's piss poor to lose to fvcking Peterborough (again). Worst display all season.
OzFox Posted 10 February 2013 Posted 10 February 2013 If there's one player you don't want a glorious chance to fall to in the last few minutes, it's Waghorn. For Christ sake, hit the fuc*ing target man! Half wondering if Nige would consider moving him to left back, ala Schlupp. If he shoots from the left back position, there's some hope of it coming down near the goalmouth.

I didn't go yesterday and couldn't hear it so I'm not going to comment on the performance but whatever it was like there are only two words to sum up; awful result. From now to the end of the season it is all about results. 86 points might be enough for 2nd place but we will need to win away games to do that even if we win all our home matches which is unlikely. At the moment it is hard to see any points from away games at Forest, Derby, Cardiff, Crystal Palace or Brighton.
