dog_4 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I weren't be renewing my ticket if he goes! We're in a position where we're going to be even stronger next season even if we don't get promoted. I'm pretty confident danns and beckford will be gone for good. I'm pretty confident wellens and gallagher will go to. This would put us in a strong position to add to the young squad we have. I believe Nigel was looking at Liam Trotter, But didn't fancy the transfer fee when he's out of contract in the summer. For me that would be like having another wes morgan! But in Midfield. Nigel needs another pre season to get rid of the few high earners left! To really influence this young team! Don't sack him!
big cairnzy Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Why the doom n gloom? beat sheff wed. beat cardiff. game on.
body102 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Yes it was. He turned us down Glad he did , he would have put us in even more debt .
5waller5 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Differing opinions are understandable and refreshing, the one thing I don't get though is the distinct lack of unity in the one thing we've all got in common........ our support for Leicester City Football Club. Personally I feel he's done a very good all round job, trimming squad, ousting misfits and reducing wage bill, in playoffs or higher the vast majority of the season with reduced resources!Yes he has faults but show me a manager in the division who is faultless, or has not had selective statistics bent out of shape. I could understand the pourings of discontent if we were mid table or below but FFS we are not.Surely wether you rate NFP or not supporting or team and their objective to achieve promotion should be the main aim? If you dont like him and put that before the support for the team then I suggest you should take a long hard look in the mirror. You're usual rational self has eluded you there old chap ..... you start by saying let's all just support leicester and then bring the pro NP banner in .... Come on get behind leicester otherwise you're not a proper fan, oh and by Leicester i actually mean NP!
dog_4 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 5th with a youth team! Not a sack able offence! Come on City! Back them! Whats the point spitting feathers with so few games left.

It wasn't meant that way Waller I've had a few I actually was saying, I don't think he's done a bad job by far , however if sacked now, which I think is wrong I would still support the TEAM wether I personally like or you or whoever doesn't quite frankly is irrelevant! And believe me I mean Leicester, we've had some shocking managers and I haven't stopped supporting.....that's what I meant and

Come on get behind leicester otherwise you're not a proper fan, oh and by Leicester i actually mean NP! No he's saying support the boys regardless of what you think of NP, and don't let the fact NP ran over your dog, or whatever reason it is you hate him so much, get in the way of that, and if you can't support the team because of NP, then there is something wrong with you. I support Leicester City, and Leicester includes Pearson, Vardy, Waghorn, King, Top and everyone else that gets slagged off on here, even Beckford, if he ever pulled on the Royal Blue again I would support him and chant his name, I would look for the positives in that, as I do in everything else. I can look back in hindsight and say that bringing Dyer on for Konchesky was a ridiculous decision, but I'm not going to beat NP round the head for it, he has made other mistakes too, and plenty of decisions that I don't agree with, but I also accept that he is human, and not infallible and is managing a group of 20 odd other humans who also make mistakes, if they didn't then football would be very dull and played by robots.

Now that i can get right behind .... I've always been behind LCFC and always will .... and the odd thing is, this is the first manager of LCFC that I've not backed the whole time!!!! That's a lie - I've just remembered Megson who I couldn't wait to leave and was delighted he went!!! I've wanted Martin Allen to stay, Ollie, Levein, Sven .... all could be heavily criticised but i was right behind them .... this is new territory for me to not like our manager. Anyway ..... enjoy your ... Guinness??

There is such a thing as blind loyalty. We all support Leicester, it's the one common ground people have on here. I've always supported the team, and it drives me mad when idiots boo Gallagher when he comes on, or the fools who used to boo Steve Howard. However, this does not make Pearson Teflon coated. He is in the privileged position of managing the club I love. It doesn't make him untouchable. To be fair he's done ok, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with questioning why we are slipping away with only 1 win in 6 with the resources at his fingertips.

I think his personality or persona can be marmite and bordering on arrogant though it's a common trait in football and business. And yeah I'm on Guinness and it's going down a treat thanks hic

Agree totally Paul but we could win 7 or 8 out of the next 11 and then what would you question?

Steve Howard is a great example ...... Whilst i will never boo one of our players i really didn't rate big Steve, so used to have my only little protest when he came on by not cheering or clapping him on ..... childish i know - but there's support and there's cheering a big useless lump with a centre of gravity 6 feet from the ground.

He's not bald Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Where does it say anything? Any direct quotes? Any concrete news of replacements from reliable journos like Nursery being sought out? Or did some journo with white space to fill & ad space to sell around it, just do what sports journos generally do - make shit up. Total bullocks as usual - imagine Reading & Cardiff sacking McDermott & Mackay when they failed to go up in their first full seasons. Thankfully for them they were allowed to build on a base of just missing out to go up in probably first the following season. Our owners would continue their disastrous ownership if they were to get rid & even though a lot of our fans & the morons deserve yet another transitional season if we don't break the cycle of sacking managers, some of the fans who would like to see a project at least get halfway through, don't. Suppose that's anyone that disagrees with you and your opinion of Pearson?
HoustonFox Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 What is Pearson doing wrong exactly? Like all managers, he is Marmite. I like him personally. I like what he is doing with the team, I like the way we play and I like that we are winning more than we are losing. We're having a blip at the moment but it is not unrecoverable. I'm sure we will probably have to settle for playoffs now but there is still time to win back second spot. It'll be tough but keep the faith. What this club needs more than anything now is stability and I hope we get it. Look at Hull. NP built their nucleus and thy are now doing well. These players are all young, cheap and resell-able if we need to. We don't yet. Yes, we maybe need one more CM who is more of a older, tougher head but that's it in my opinion. If we don't go up but the (whole) team stays the same, I'll still support the project and put up with another year in the CCC if I have to. If we get that "Trotter" player for free then, great. The youngsters will be a year older and wiser. Do we really think if we go up we'll win any games without a massive set of additions? I think we it may be one year too soon if we do but doesn't mean I don't want us to!

To be fair he's done ok, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with questioning why we are slipping away with only 1 win in 6 with the resources at his fingertips. The problem is we are not in full knowledge of the facts, I often disagree with decisions made by NP, but I find it hard to criticise because I don't see the players every day in training, maybe in training Lloyd would play at left back and play well, maybe Whitbread wasn't fit enough for 45 minutes, or to play as a left back and bomb forward, maybe he was only on the bench to give him 10 minutes at the end if we were winning comfortably. Letting Schlupp go out on trial at Man Utd possibly cost us on Tuesday as we had no cover, but on the other hand we could have sold him for 2 million, and he disappears into obscurity and ends up leaving United and joins Levi Porter at Wigston Car Breakers. Maybe if Pearson was more communicative and explained his decisions more, we would be more forgiving if we knew why he had done it. Ignoring his personality and the decisions he makes I disagree with, and looking purely at the performances on the pitch this season I find it very easy to forgive him those flaws.
Captain... Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I'm not sure anyone has ever polarised people's opinion as well as NP .... think he may be extra strong marmite!!! But why? Is it his personality? The fact he left us before? Because we have money? It does feel like Holloway, Kelly, Levein, Allen, Sven were never as successful as NP, and yet had more support from the fans, there was never this kind of hostility when we went on bad runs, which lasted months rather than weeks, so why NP?
AnotherShitSeason Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Pearson looks, acts, and increasingly talks like a man who knows his fate. Can smell it a mile off. Obvious that some of the more astute players know this as well. Tomorrow will be very interesting.

inckley fox Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 I wanted NP to be reappointed, supported him throughout last season and was impressed up until mid-January. We were still on a winning run when I began to worry. Since then his behaviour and decision-making has, at times, been shocking for a professional football manager. I want him to stay until the end of the season, but I have no defence for his recent actions. I'd consider the Schlupp situation, whether you think we should sell him or not, as one of the most unusual in football right now; we haven't addressed obvious weaknesses in the team, have been reluctant to alter the formation or the line-up and post-match comments from players and manager alike have hinted at massive complacency ('there's nothing we can do about [going six points behind Watford, after losing to Peterborough]', 'I'm not bothered', 'my players have been outstanding all season' etc.). There have been regular conflicts, of late, between fans and players / staff. This rarely happens at promotion-winning sides. He has set expectations far too low in recent weeks and my opinion of him as a manager has lowered massively. If the board has asked questions of him this week, then I am fully behind them.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 I think the end of the season will be interesting, do we stick with NP in the hope the younger players with another season under their belts will be the promotion chasing McCoy next year? Or do we get rid and get a decent up and coming manager instead?
MPH Posted 9 March 2013 Posted 9 March 2013 Just look at the state the club was in before Pearson took over and look where we are now.... It used to be said that manager had 3 years to turn a team around and fully stamp their authority on it.... So... If we sack Pearson i jjust see us in the same perpetual system we seem to of been in for donkeys years now... new manager comes in... reshapes team to suit his style.. spends a bucketload of money on agents, signing on fees and transfer fees. I think the main difference between Sven and Nige is that Nigel has at least brought players who seem to want to be here... and who also seem to be bonding.... that faces being ripped apart if he goes.. Its just completly the wrong time to be even contemplating this ( if its true). Just how are the players supposed to knuckle down and go for a promotion push with this sort of speculation...

Is this the managers fault, or a number of impatient fans who feel like we have a divine right to the Premier League, but are actually hindering us by suggesting the ownership take actions that set the club back?
