AaronH Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4830573/Pearson-warning.html Are the sun talking their usual bollocks?
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Yes. The owners might have made mistakes but they aren't blithering idiots. I remember one newspaper reporting Pearson was going to be sacked despite winning a 4th game in a row against Huddersfield. Utterly ridiculous.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Our club has been a circus the past few years. Nothing would suprise me anymore.
flowwolf Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 So old Badger face is on a final warning , can't say I'm suprised.
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Also, this isn't Sven with the team in the bottom half of the table. This is progress under sensible management and a decent performance in the league this season. The owners have this reputation of being trigger-happy but both their sackings (was Sousa their choice?) are both justified. There isn't any good justification for removing Pearson from the job so they won't do it.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Still maintain that if we got rid of NP, I would feel like no longer going out of disgust. Slowly turning things around here, done a good job
Lambert09 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Well you say there is no good justification but if conversations behind the scenes with the manager have specified they are after automatic then surely that would be justified? Im not saying its the right thing to do, but a target is a target at the end of the day, no matter how hard that may be.
Harry - LCFC Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Yet. Exactly. If (if!) we continue in this downward spiral then there may be reason to consider Pearson's position, but there isn't a good enough reason to sack the man at present. That's why this story is BS.
Tom17LCFC Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 http://www.thesun.co...on-warning.html Are the sun talking their usual bollocks? Think you've answered your own question.

Im not saying its the right thing to do, but a target is a target at the end of the day, no matter how hard that may be. To expect a top two finish after the car crash season we had before this is a bit much don't you think? I get the impression the owners are ambitious but fairly realistic too. I wouldn't have thought they'd set a minimum target of 2nd place, seems unlikely to me. I can however see them saying that 7th isn't good enough although I still wouldn't get rid if that's where we finish.
Lambert09 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I personally think It would be too much, but its not my money. They are business men and they are in it for money, the only way to make money is through being in the premiership. If they are looking at recent performances and questioning (like many of the fans) if we are as good as the teams around us then potentially they think they could get more bang for their buck with someone else at the helm. Can you blame them if they are being tempted by the likes of adkins and Matteo?

DorsetFox9 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 about time. We have thrown away too many points recently, and his stubbornness means nothing will change, formation/ players etc. They probably set a Play-Off target at the least, and at the rate of 1 win in 6 we will be out the top half let alone Play-Off places come the end of the season.
Jimmy Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 with Nigel Adkins out of work I wouldn't be surprised if they had already sounded him out
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 with Nigel Adkins out of work I wouldn't be surprised if they had already sounded him out I can not see them going for someone like Adkins. I think we will go for someone much higher profile. Probably end up with Di Canio or somebody equally as mad. Cue the circus that is Leicester City. Roll Up, Roll Up!!
ozleicester Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 It would an interesting time if the managers actually formed themselves into a collective and then were actually honest WITH EACH OTHER about when they have been approached, it would certianly put owners on the back foot. Instead of being able to ring up Joe Blogs and arrange him to be ready to go when the owners pulled the trigger, imagine Joe then rings the current manager and says, hey Fred, your owners just sounded me out. Hmm interesting
MikeyT Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 At this time of the season It would be a bit odd. If a new manager came in, he's still going t have the same players as Nigel. Can't imagine it being true.

Zingari Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I think they could write this story and use the name of about 90% of league managers.
Jace Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Absolute bollocks just like the Harry and the Martin Allen stories

Edit: Just seen we were 13th, 2 points off play-offs. Agree though, he's building a team and going about it the right way. If we want long-term sustainability we need to keep NP.
FrankieADZ Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 why am I not surprised; we are clearly in an awful league position with no chance of going anywhere.
jonthefox Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I wouldn't wipe my arse with the sun. Obviously a space to fill this morning.
cc_star Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 So old Badger face is on a final warning , can't say I'm suprised. Where does it say anything? Any direct quotes? Any concrete news of replacements from reliable journos like Nursery being sought out? Or did some journo with white space to fill & ad space to sell around it, just do what sports journos generally do - make shit up. Total bullocks as usual - imagine Reading & Cardiff sacking McDermott & Mackay when they failed to go up in their first full seasons. Thankfully for them they were allowed to build on a base of just missing out to go up in probably first the following season. Our owners would continue their disastrous ownership if they were to get rid & even though a lot of our fans & the morons deserve yet another transitional season if we don't break the cycle of sacking managers, some of the fans who would like to see a project at least get halfway through, don't.
