MattyFromLE Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 So you'd agree then that there is a 1/4 chance of this season being a success and 3/4 of it not. Fair enough. I think we can both agree that. And with the spending, the time NP has had, the backing etc etc, that for me is not good enough. For some, mediocrity is acceptable, for me, it is not. Not a personal attack, just a difference in the standards we set for ourselves and expect from others. You have it right in many ways, since I doubt you ever face disappointment in life. Expect very little, get very little. Satisfied. You might be on to something. Its the triers, dreamers etc like me who inevitably face disappointment and are let down by others. Please don't make assumptions about my character, that I consider a personal attack. I actually push myself, and deal with disappointment in proving people wrong. When it comes to Leicester, I try to be realistic. Yes, not going up would be underachieving, but until it's confirmed that we have not been promoted - then as far as I'm concerned, we may as well give is 100% for the final push. You're quickly becoming to get on my nerves.
Fox in the North Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Exactly. We all want the same thing, we all wanna win every game 6-0 but it's a tough league! Some of the people on this forum baffle me, but i'd happily stand next to them and support the lads properly for the next 13 games. Then you can start your mongfest of how you were right and we were all wrong for thinking long term stability is key for a club that has had a patchy last 10 years. Exactly, I couldn't agree more.
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 You Vill enjoy ze fussball at Leicester City if Herr babylon says so - resistance is futile some of your comments, really. You will do absolutely anything to avoid discussing the facts and have a reasoned debate.
Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 How can Pearson be under pressure? He is infallible and we are all just 'spoilt' for anticipating a degree of success after making the largest losses the Championship has ever seen.
Guppy Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Well atleast this thread has made it nice and easy to identify who to add to the Ignored list of users. If people want to doubt the management, fine, that will always happen. But I just can't get my head around the ones who are completely Anti-Nige at all, what an earth has he done wrong in either spell here to justify it? Laid the foundations at Hull inbetween too. And the worst thing if he was sacked would be that Danns, Beckford et al would all get another chance (which i'm not against if they earn the right to, i.e. Gallagher) and we would have to go through it all again for 12 months until the next manager realises 'Oh yeah, these ARE shi t.'
Danizen Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Morons? Any chance of having a balanced discussion without the hissy fits? ^This. I've been decidedly pro-Pearson all season but it annoys me when anyone with a different view is instantly called a moron or a disabled. Pearson is doing well but he is prone to mistakes and has built a team that still has a few flaws.
birdwith2beaksandnofriends Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 You're quickly becoming to get on my nerves. I couldn't care less. You just don't like me as there is some sense in what I say. Sense you don't want to hear.
paulsherwood1 Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Do you not like winning home games? Scoring lots of goals. Not conceding many? As I said... if you don't like what Pearson has produced at the large majority of home games this year, what is it you want exactly? Agree Babylon, however I would swap it for promotion. That is, after all, why we play. No point being the great entertainers if we are always the brisesmaid and never the bride. Our away form really has been the issue. No one can, or even expects a team to go unbeaten at home. But when you have a decent away record then it softens the blow. Losing to Brighton and drawing with derby was hardly a disaster for Cardiff, yet a draw vs Leeds and defeat vs Charlton and we lose touch with automatic promotion. So it's all well and good smashing 6 past teams at home, but promotion is the goal!
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 SPIN SPIN SPIN. I said BEING 5TH IN THE LEAGUE with our level of spending etc etc etc is underachieving. Many many fans and bookies, pundits alike had us nailed on for top 2. You can accept mediocrity and underachievement if you like. I'll make my own mind up. Thanks. Seriously? The Thais want it this year. NFP even alluded to it in quite a few interviews. No, the bookies did, most pundits and fans didn't fancy us at all. Last season everyone fancied us to go up when we had an average team at best, so as Babs says it means nothing. I do think he needs to go up if he's to save his job. And if we don't, I think it's down to his own mistakes. But the point is we've still got a good chance of going up. If the season ended today, we'd be in the play-offs. We haven't dropped out of the top 6 since we got in there in October (?).

Uncle Phil Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Why would they sack him when we still have a great chance of going up? Watford and Hull will both drop points between now and the end of the season and if we beat Watford we're well up there again. Some people need to stop spouting crap and just get behind the team.
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Who you thought massively underachieved and should have been sacked? That Sven? Yes the Sven that finished midtable. Not the Pearson who's in the play-off places, AGAIN.
seenitall Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Typical FoxesTalk. Writing us off, before we have even got there. What ever happened to building? MoN didn't turn us into the team we were overnight. Our premier league success was down to him picking a solid base for his side and building on that. That took how many years? Why are so many people intent on us sacking ANOTHER manager? He's done better than the last 10 years worth of managers combined. Seriously, struggle to understand what more you want. We all want to be top but, it's a difficult league. He got us up in half a season and finished top 10 four years running - took him about 5 months to put together a Premier league top 10 side - with very little money
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 It's still underachieving it's just winning the get out of jail free card that is the play offs. That bastard Martin O'Neill, underachieved with that side. Lucky we won the play-offs or everyone would realise he was bloody useless.
MattyFromLE Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 I couldn't care less. You just don't like me as there is some sense in what I say. Sense you don't want to hear. You make valid points, then ruin them by making suggestive comments about someone you don't know. I will listen to your points and take them for what they are - you do talk sense, but in turn, I feel strongly about my opinion and don't think they should be discredited just because I am pro-Pearson. That bastard Martin O'Neill, underachieved with that side. Lucky we won the play-offs or everyone would realise he was bloody useless. I wish I could give more than one reputation point.
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 But in the meantime we get behind the team and support them for the final round of games. Don't be a twat, let's lynch the boring bastard.
birdwith2beaksandnofriends Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 That bastard Martin O'Neill, underachieved with that side. Lucky we won the play-offs or everyone would realise he was bloody useless. As far as I'm aware, NP hasn't won the play offs yet? He had his part in losing us a play off semi with a ridiculous home set up/performance though!

Genius - I am very very angry (but not that angry)

seenitall Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 That's a bit negative isn't it? Make a nice change though
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 some of your comments, really. You will do absolutely anything to avoid discussing the facts and have a reasoned debate. Me thinks he is testing the new vintage
Kitchandro Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Pearson is too good for us tbh. If we finish mid table we will be getting exactly what we deserve. Have to agree with this. I've maintained that we haven't deserved the (mostly) shit we've had since O'Neill left, but this season we've been embarrassing throughout. I'm ashamed, if I'm honest.
kingfox Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 It's easy to make up a story like this, we were of course top at one stage, now we are 5th with teams staring us down the barrel. There's a gap emerging between us and fourth which isn't good, while Brighton, Bolton, Forest and Middlesbrough will just pile pressure on us. At this rate I really can't see us finishing in the play-offs, the last four games are absolutely crucial, Bolton, Crystal Palace, Watford and Forest, those games will make or break our play-off campaign. Only thing I don't like about Pearson is his constant 4-4-2 formation, people said we played 4-3-3 on Tuesday night, tbh it didn't look like it. It looked like Knockaert and Kane were on the wings in a 4-4-2 formation. In some games you can't keep on playing this formation because it simply won't work, football has changed it's not about an out to out 4-4-2 formation nowadays. I also think he fails to see what we see sometimes, and puts his trust in too many of our players, the midfield has been a worry in some games this season, then just because we start playing well again, he thinks the midfield is more than capable, but then we go on another bad patch, where the midfield struggles, and he doesn't rectify the problem. If we fail, he will go, and I will be disappointed, but not angry, because there are good managers available, like Adkins.
MattyFromLE Posted 8 March 2013 Posted 8 March 2013 Give over, anyone even vaguely anti-NP (ie acknowledging any faults) is roundly discredited as a nutcase. When did I call you a nutcase for criticising Pearson? I'll criticise the bloke all day but - my belief is that he is the man to take us forward, and a little bit of faith for 13 games wouldn't go a miss. Furthermore, changing the manager now, I believe wouldn't make any positive improvement to the side - so those that are anti-Pearson have only got two choices. Like it, or lump it.
