Pearson under pressure

Twaddle - if Pearson had done what he was brought in for last season and made the Premier League he would have been able to afford all those players and many more - if the owners wanted to finish mid table they could have kept Sven so we have to assume they removed him because they thought NP could do better - except they didn't want NP did they, they screwed up and we actually ended up with him - he then was totally ineffectual.

So last season was a failure and this season he has blown hot and cold - I really hope he can turn it around and win the play off lottery but if not he will have failed four seasons in a row - aint good enough

Twaddle?

You fail to answer my question, you seem to think Pearson did well and had just got his team playing up until the Millwall game as you put in a previous post?

And Pearsons failing was to not get us into the Premier League....when he "bottled it"?

Yet the form of the other play off contenders would have meant that four wins from the last four game would not have been enough to make the play offs, we'd of finished 7th.

You clearly have high standards but I think you should perhaps stop expecting the impossible.

I can't put my finger on exactly what, but I just think NP has sapped something from this club.

lol

I'm sorry but that's bonkers to me. The only manager in nearly a decade to come close to achieving something and he's "sapped something from the club".

If he has sapped something what the hell did Sven, Sousa, Levein, Megson, Kelly, Allen and Holloway actually do?

Stuff like this confirms to me the anti Pearson feeling has little to do with what happens on the pitch, and everything to do with pre conceived ideas and feelings towards him.

It's not a shock the people slagging him before a ball was kicked are the same ones doing it now nearly 18 months later.

To draw away at least?

So that alters what you get from home games.... I only presume these people got a season ticket because we were spending under Sven. Because they sure as hell can't have had one under the list of managers I just named if they think what's happening now is bad.

Once he and a certain player have gone, probably both by the end of the year, I'll tell you all a little something.

Let me guess... Wellens and Pearson bum each other to death and rule the gaff with an iron fist, only stopping from abusing other players to gently wank each other off.

We should all take a step back here and look at it and just wonder... do we care?

Will NP be here in 3 years? Very doubtful? Will we? Failing some alcohol induced gun toting 'then turned the gun on himself' I hope so. Presume so even... so then, knowing NP will be gone in 3 years and that the THAIS will get us there, might just cost them a few more quid. Who cares?

Right, so, battle of the salad dressings. Which is king?

For me its balsamic dressing all the way, if you make your own, follow the usual sort of recipe but instead of olive oil use a good chilli & pepper oil (you can make your own, add peppercorns and chilli to a bottle of good olive oil). Really good.

It's not a surprise that those who thought it was the return of the messiah 18 months ago cannot accept that he may not be the new SAF and label the doubters as 'morons'.

We all want the same for our club we just differ in our opinions of who may deliver that.

No. I doubt if too much of it would surprise you.

Basically certain player in the team will NOT be here if we are not promoted and does NOT rate the manager at all.

Only a PROBABLY on sticking around if promoted.

Refuse to name the player, but is a regular starter and very rarely out of the squad unless injured.

I think it reflects a little bit on both.

I'm one of those who didnt want him to come back, as many of you are aware. I've tried to give him a chance and was against his sacking when it was rumoured late last year as we were performing well in general, despite concerns over the strength of the squad. But I agree with birdwith2beaks, his whole demeanour saps the excitement from me, and it appears lately more fans are seeing Pearson for the stubborn full of himself arrogant man he is. He is his own worst enemy at times. I know I am not alone in feeling this way, couple this with an increase in ticket prices and its not surprise to see low attendances despite higher league position. It's not ideal for a club losing money every day.

Complete hogwash

If Pearson was only brought in to achieve promotion after a partial season he'd have been sacked in the summer. He's been brought in to make a competitive side and cut the cloth. there was no other way, other than cloth cutting.

Your footballing god, Sven, not only, ONLY achieved a midtable squad... he did that whilst breaking the bank, endangering the club, & demolishing a playoff achieving side in the process - whereas most clubs like Cardiff, Reading and others build on that

You fail to see how NP has fixed that side of things, and his skillset on doing more with less is the main reason he's here - there is nothing else they could do considering the catastrophic mess they had presided over. Thankfully they learnt and righted that wrong.

A tiny part of my brain, (the unreasonable part that you seem to be very familiar with using) hopes he's sacked on saturday tea time, some other 'name' manager is brought in, the improving 20-21 year olds are broken up & sold off and some Premier league benchwarmers are brought in & we have yet another transitional season before inevitably not making it again ending up going bankrupt in a way that makes Pompey & Rangers look like a walk in the park in comparison - all just so I can PM you "told you so"

But then again I don't know why I waste my time debating with someone who is only ever here offering his opinion in tough patches and had absolutely nothing to contribute the other 90% of the time.

Nugent or Konchesky?

No and No. That's it though, this is a silly guessing game. I'll answer 'no' to all future guesses even if the answer is 'yes'.

I suspect Nugent loves NP by the way, plucked from something like obscurity, most of us rated him, but then given role of 1st choice striker and paid a fair whack.

Really, could you let me know where I ever said he was the messiah, or said he was brilliant or any other such wording?

If Pearson fails to get us into the play offs he will be gone, and rightly so. If he stays and fails to improve us next year, he will be gone and rightly so.

I have no loyalty to Pearson at all. But I will defend people against nonsense. You and others have been spouting the same crap since day one. It's been sod all to do with what he achieves on the pitch, and everything to do with preconceived notions. Your mind was made up.

How about the rest of the post you failed to quote, any thoughts on the list of other managers who failed miserably to even get us into a play off position?

Scan up about 10 posts to the bit where I told everyone to realise we don't care and talk about salad dressings.

I've just tried M&S low fat chilli citrus dressing with lemongrass, ginger and red chilli.

I enjoyed this with some teriyaki, smoked, mackerel and a home-made (ooooh!) three been salad with homegrown potato salad (more chorizo than potato).

Boom. Have that Pearson lovers.

I've tried to give him a chance

I'm sorry, but that's hilarious. You are usually the first one to slate absolutely everything he does. To slate team selection, substitutions etc etc. If you actually believe you gave him a chance then in my eyes that's rather deluded and your thoughts on what "chance" mean differ alarmingly from mine.

He's my hero, although of course I've never met him.

I've heard he's charming, polite, dashing, eloquent and a quite superb public speaker.

He's as elusive as the night though, perhaps moreso. In fact, definitely moreso. I wouldn't describe the night as elusive. He's very elusive when its his round.

Not that I know him. But I love him. Some say to know him is to love him.

It is difficult enough to make a point about Nigel that isn't saying he is God when he is losing every other game - you try it when he accidentally wins a few. So the only alternative to a dullard manager with an under performing and over rated squad is to bankrupt the club? What you are effectively saying is that leicester City can no longer attract quality managers - why is this so?And because they can't attract anyone good, the rest of the fans should accept it and be grateful we have Mr Mediocre in charge - you can, I won't

an under performing and over rated squad

Hang on, under performing and over rated?

Firstly under performing... Where did you say we would finish again?

Secondly, how can you have a squad that is over rated AND under performing. Surely if you don't rate the squad they are over performing. If you rate the squad and they are under performing, then the squad can't be over rated.
