_Fatboyslow_ Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Who is saying that? Some twat with two beaks I recall, someone else posted a twater link which may have been attributed to JP. The sun also ran a story on those lines, allegedly, amongst others. And all it has done its wind folk up and created what may well be s self forefilling prophecy.
LJS Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 A sacking today wouldn't be a massive shock. Although if it is going to happen before the end of the season I imagine it will be after the weekend when we go into the international break. I don't think there can be much doubt that he is under pressure at the moment.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I think the pressure is coming from those fans who want instant success take a step back Nd just look at what he has done for us. With the squad mainly being a young group maybe feel the extra pressure on their shoulders. I for one don't feel the need to sack Pearson in fact if we don't go up I'd like him to be here till the end of next season. Fickle fans
johnny the fox Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21742204? he's toast !
Monsell1976 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 The pressure was caused by owners and Pearson, stated we are going for promotion and the owners have said in numerous occasion about promotion this season, so were I can agree that the fans do cause pressure, I think the last 2 home games you could cut the tension from the crowd with a knife, but the fans have been given high expectations, and dare I say it, delusions of grandeur by the owners and Pearson. Now I think fans expect success, not hope for it.
foxaholic Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Quite a lot of other championship fans view us as "cheating" with our perceived money. Personally I don't think Watford have cheated. We have the finances at our disposal to bring in top championship players like Morgan and Wood, Nugent etc. we have spent our money in a different way. Not enough credit goes to Zola for making a team out of a bunch of loanees. When Sven brought in a bunch of loanees at city they were accused of not really caring about the club and not being a team. I think what Zola has done is very impressive to mould them into a team who actually look like they care. And I agree on palace, 17th is not quite relegation material ( my bad ), however it is a damn sight worse than we finished with considerably less finances. They may have zaha but his assist and goal figures are not as good as knockaert, and it's all well having Glenn Murray but we have wood and nugent who are far better. Nope, I don't think lcfc fans are wrong to question why these teams are above us, I think we are being far too accepting and hiding behind the shield that is " your not a fan if you don't support Pearson ". nobody dare admit that with far less resources Holloway has alwaysdone better than Pearson.
foxaholic Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I think it's simply the fact that he's not a particularly likeable bloke. He may be lovely if you get to know him - but all we have to go on is the relationship he has with us through the media. I honestly can't think of any other reason - because you're right - taking emotion out of the equation and it seems we shouldn't have such a divide. I am a bit puzzled could you please tell me what bad run we had under Martin Allen we drew 2-2 at Palace beat Watford 4-1 and unluckily lost 1-0 to Blackpool 2 of these games were as good as any played in the last 5 years
Tom17LCFC Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 The more I think about it, the more ridiculous it is he and the board are having to play down speculation about his job. We're in the play-offs which we'd have all taken back in August. Literally is no pleasing some people.
inckley fox Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 nobody dare admit that with far less resources Holloway has alwaysdone better than Pearson. Like when he kept Soton up and we went down under Holloway?
CKB Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 It's probably been said but this is how i see it If we drop outta the playoffs the owners could panic and sack NP but more likely he would go in the summer if we failed to even make the playoffs If we make the playoffs but fail (semi's or god forbid final) i think the owners will let NP continue on the basis we have to be at least top 6 by late November/early December, if not he will be sacked

What do you mean?
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I'm under pressure now, if city win tomorrow I've got to give Bilo a rim job
Webbo Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I'm under pressure now, if city win tomorrow I've got to give Bilo a rim job Not just Bilo, if we win tomorrow you're going to have 1 shitty tongue.

We're in the play-offs which we'd have all taken back in August. Literally is no pleasing some people. Yes we are in the playoffs and people would have been happy with them at the start of the season. But a month a go we were second with a generous run of winnable games and should have been aiming to catch Cardiff. A month later we are fifth and looking over our shoulder at the teams below us rapidly catching us up. I'm sure if you ask any Cardiff fan they would have been happy with a playoff place at the start of the season. Would they be happy with slipping out of the top two and taking a playoff place now?? I doubt it.

Is this what passes for journalism these days? No source, no additional info vs BBC quotes. Nothing.
Babylon Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 What a crap article. Is this what passes for journalism these days? No source, no additional info vs BBC quotes. Nothing. With FFP coming in next year it will be interesting to see how that alters clubs attitudes to sacking manager. For the owners to get rid of Pearson and all of his backroom team you are looking at a couple of million quid, on top of paying a new guys wages and for his team. That would be a large chunk of next seasons budget gone, and something we possibly can't afford to do considering we are already running well over what's needed to comply with FFP.

Or maybe the contracts offered will be shorter ??? Which in turn might also lead to an increased managerial attrition rate as they just naturally 'expire' ???
Babylon Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 Or maybe the contracts offered will be shorter ??? Which in turn might also lead to an increased managerial attrition rate as they just naturally 'expire' ??? Obviously that's the other option, and I think that will be the case. There will be that period the next few years though where people have a few years left on a contract and teams can't afford to get rid.

Babylon Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 Another reason to get rid now then. Year end is 31 May 2013, so I'd imagine any decision will be made before then.

hackneyfox Posted 12 March 2013 Posted 12 March 2013 I wonder if they will pay off the contracts of the big earners as well? Dyer? Beckford? Danns? Konchesky? Schmeichel? Wellens? Gallagher?
