Mark_w Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 We could be even more fair and add the 47 points he gained from 33 games last season. And, while we're at it, those 58 points from 36 games would give you 74 points at the end of the season IF we get over our current form. Last season that wouldn't have been good enough for a play-off finish. So, by that measure, he probably should be fired. a) No, adding last years results would not be fairer because he didn't have a full summer transfer window prior to that season. Which is what most of us were saying to the Nigel Out gang this time last year and look, we're now competing for a top six position which is much better than we've seen in previous years. b) The league is not the same this year as it was last year, we're 5th currently, that's what he should really be judged on and as we'd have pretty much all taken it at the start of the year, then no, he shouldn't be sacked.
ruisliptiger Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Thing is, it's easy to be negative after a bad run. I've been guilty of it myself when City Hull have been through a bad spell. Though I'm never one to call for the managers head unless he's been given sufficient time or has dropped a major bollock. Look at it this way. You have a bad spell lasting around 4 weeks, I'm guessing that's 5-6 fixtures. Having gone through that you are still 5th in the league. That is far from a bad place to be. With 9 fixtures left it's far to late for a new man to have any sort of impact unless you get lucky. Pearson deserves at least until the end of the season. If you drop out of the play-offs perhaps an owner with the ambition of yours will be looking for a new man. A spirited display in the play-offs or even automatic (hey it's still possible) and he get given a chance to put the final touches to his squad and push on. I think it'd be a shame to not see where a Nigel Pearson given time to develop his squad can take you. Chances are whoever comes in after will want to rip it up and start again, and historically the chances of that working first time are slim. Unless you manage to attract a Gus Hiddink or some such.
Oadby Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 It's dangerous to think on an empty head. & Mw ..08 Dec - 26 Dec = 2pt's.. Make your own mind up (bull shit in my eyes) maybe be not yours!
morris1234 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 What?! So, if You simply argue 'agh well you would say that because you love Pearson' ' that makes your point against pearson, immediately more valid....because you hate him. Even this explanation of it doesn't make sense let alone the trend in debate at the minute!!!!!!! Really hurts my head!! What the fvxk do some people want!
Mark_w Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 & Mw ..08 Dec - 26 Dec = 1pt.. Make your own mind up (bull shit in my eyes) maybe be not yours! But... you said that a month means nothing in football? To be fair it was actually 2 points and we only played four games during that spell. It followed a run of three wins in four games and was followed by a run of 6 wins in 7 games. You can't just pick out two bad runs (One of which was incredibly short) and ignore the numerous very good runs we've had this season. At the end of the day we're about to achieve one of our highest finishes in years, so just shut up and let them get on with it.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 We have to support the team and the manager, we choose to support Leicester and the whole point of being a loyal fan is that we support that team irrespective.....love is unconditional x I want in. I supported under Allen and Holloway FFS-why do people want to jump now?
big cairnzy Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Lets stand by the big man! I feel a good run starting with a win at cardiff. beat derby sat. All is good in life!
Oadby Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 But... you said that a month means nothing in football? To be fair it was actually 2 points and we only played four games during that spell. I did amend the 2nd point, and yes we could possibly get to one of the highest positions in years, but it's falling apart mate, cant you see it!
Oxfordfox83 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Pearson has got us into the best position in the last 10 years. 10 years of shite, mediocrity and tedium (apart from winning league 1). We've gone through a rake of managers who could do no better so why does anyone think someone else cold come in now and improve on our position? Yes, we are on a bad run, but truthfully no one knows if changing manager would solve it. Stick with they guy who has put together a team which on its day has shown this season that it can play some amazing football, the best in many, many years. Of course it is worrying for the fans when things are not going well, but that's because we care about the club (isn't fan short for fanatical?). Stick with Pearson and judge him at the end of the season. Oh, and if the amount of posts on this site this evening were translated into actual support for the team then we could actually achieve something instead of tapping away and bitching about stuff that is beyond our control. Get behind the team and the manager. LTID Fact. This post is as clear as it gets for me. Our form is clearly shocking. I want us to win=I cheer anyway. It's not just booing, it's indifferent silence-you're only a fan/supporter if you behave like one, otherwise you're a close-up critic...
Mark_w Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 I did amend the 2nd point, and yes we could possibly get to one of the highest positions in years, but it's falling apart mate, cant you see it! We've had a poor run of games. That doesn't mean it's falling apart, it could fall apart, but we're not past the point of no return and we're still in a very good position. Wait and see what happens, don't sack him based on hypothetical future results when he's got us into this good position in the table.
Charl91 Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 We won't be in 5th after the next 2 games on current form. It's almost like he team were abducted by aliens in February, and replaced with doppelgängers such is the sudden collapse in confidence & form. Maybe Aliens stole their talent. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened in world sport!

Oadby Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 But will TOP see it that way, if for instance you just pumped in £30 mil + and you cant see us making the premiership, changes are foreciable
Harry - LCFC Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 What the fvck you going on about? What's it got do with you if they post or not whilst at the game? Also didn't you post on a different thread the other day saying you look at other results on your phone when we are winning?? Hypocrite. My point is this - I don't like the idea of people complaining while a game is being played when vital points were very much up for grabs. There are evidently more important events taking place. Having said this, you are correct, indeed I do look at the results but only when the game is won. This takes about 10 seconds of my time, nothing too extensive as I'm sure you can imagine. This contrasts massively to having a moan on a forum during a tight game which takes a significantly longer amount of time when you could be getting behind the team. EDIT: The key thing about this is priority. When I look at the scores, I only do so when the other games become more important that ours. When people posted on here during today's game there is no way you could say that the game was less important than Foxes Talk at the time.
Harry - LCFC Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 Did I comment on the game? No I commented on the manager and the results over recent weeks. I was mostly though objecting to the idea that you are not a fan if you dont go to a game. Which is nonsense. If there's an individual game that you don't attend that's fine. People object to the idea of hardly ever attending, you can't expect people to care for your opinion if you rarely watch the team play. I think the bloke you were speaking to may have misunderstood you, he seemed to think you hardly ever attend, I'm sure that isn't the case.
Iwan Roberts Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 He should be sacked because the clubs below us have caught us from having two games in hand and a 12 point cushion. The clubs finacial problems means we need promotion this season or we're worse off than Pompey and that at the moment doesn't look possible. The run we went on couldn't have been easier games at the time and two teams changed there manager since we played them and wolves and boro have lost about every other game they've played since. He shouldn't be sacked as it's too late in the season and we'll probably beat Cardiff on Tuesday were everyone gets there hopes up again. I would be tempted to play devils advocate by bringing all players back from their loan spells whether they are a bad influenence or not and put them on the bench to stir things up. Everyone seems to know their place is safe now apart from the wingers and the strikers who are the only players switched or subbed for games.
Oadby Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 I'm sorry, I must have been hallucinating in January. I imagined Pearson winning manager of the month. One Off! He is also better than Sir Alex Ferguson! Again? Seriously? I mean, the fact that people want Pearson gone is evidence enough of their short memories, but this rubbish twice in one day from Foxes Talk posters is pretty impressive. you should know better listening to you last year! ... ha as a true leicester fan can you let me know of a better season with another manager thats been better then in the last ten years? or got us into a better position in the league and as a club? and if your also a true football fan can you let me know of a manager/team who dose not have a bad run every now and then ... cheers. I remember Rob Kelly saving us from a humiliation relegation with 4 games left April 2006 hero in my eyes he never got the opportunity to take us forward! Every manager has a bad run! but you don't lend out your star player's at all!! Think it was more to point out that you're wrong that we have been "chasing fuc ing rainbows since December" If he wins manager of the month for Jan that can't really be true can it Well slap my arse and call me Shirley! You've shot yourself in the foot to be honest, our poor run started on the 9th of February with a loss to Peterborough... have a look at the date today. NO
Oadby Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 He must have been ok in the other months for us to be second after '1 good month' surely? To look at it in a different (more accurate) way, it's really just been one incredibly shit month which has fvcked us up. you got it in one, one incredibly sh te Month! We are all piss d off I know!
Basingstoke Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 you don't lend out your star player's at all!! What the bloody hell are you on about?!!!!
Oadby Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 What the bloody hell are you on about?!!!! Pearson can not handle the top earners he has shipped them off ( Neil Danns, Jermaine Beckford) better on our bench than some other f ckers! that's what I am on about mate!
Oadby Fox Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 ? No Beer in me mate! just the JD's need it following Leicester
Langston Posted 10 March 2013 Posted 10 March 2013 No one knows the full facts regarding the club's, or the owner's financial situation - making statements like "we need promotion this season or it's bust" without any concrete proof seems a little misguided - especially considering the Thais have been bloody fantastic to us recently. Let's all calm down a little. We're fifth. That's better than being 7th and plotting with theoretical points.

If that's the case we would have had 3 points from Peterborough away, where we had 5,000 fans singing and getting behind the players all game. If I pay my money for a ticket and want to go on my phone throughout the match its got fvck all to do with you or anyone else. Try it the next time you go to a game. Go on your phone for 5-10 minutes see if it makes any difference to the outcome of the game.
