The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/21740038 Definitely one of 'the' voices of football for me whilst growing up. RIP
Fox92 Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Yeah, great reporter. RIP. Did the dancing on ice show as well, not sure if he was doing that this year (I don't watch it).
Corky Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Grew up with him being a main commentator, along with Motson and Davies. Seemed to be shoved out to an extent in later years, massive shame. RIP.
Super_horns Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 One of the top commentators because he could do so many sports.
sdb Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Such a good commentator. Compared to the shite today on the BBC it's embarrassing. RIP.
VinceNoir Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I mainly remember him from International Superstar Soccer 98 which was the first football game I owned. He was a great commentator! RIP Tony Gubba.
Hitesh Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Sad news - memorable voice and remember him from the games and also MOTD as a kid when he covered the highlights.
Voll Blau Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 Always remember him from FIFA International Football for the PC. I thought that game was the most wonderful thing on earth when I was 8.
Kitchandro Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 I was shocked when I heard this earlier. Good commentator back in the day. 'YES! YES! Can you believe it? Why it's 3-3!' 'Here's Heskey, he's not offside, it's young Heskey. He scores! It's 2-0 Leicester!' 'Roberto Baggio - has equalised!'
Langston Posted 11 March 2013 Posted 11 March 2013 If only the current batch of snooty braindeads that talk as if they've just swallowed a thesaurus would follow in his understated footsteps. Less is more.
