Sack him now!

That's because none of the past 11 games were must win except possibly this one tonight. Very, very obvious.

Had we won our "must win" game tonight we'd be in the POs. You've made a ridiculous statement there.

That's because fans expectations have lowered with every defeat!! 13 games ago we had 'must win' games to get to the top, then to get second, then to be in the play offs etc etc ....!!! Amazing how we now accept a 'must win' game is to get back in the play offs!!!!

Lots of teams who get promoted carry on performing above their potential. If you want to look at it like that then Pearson was an even bigger failure, as teams like Swansea, Norwich and Southampton went on to get promoted again!

Fact is he didn't take that team up as his tactics cost us the first leg. Fact is he has never promoted a team from this league! Why the blind faith in this man!!!!

Is saying that he's not a League One manager when everything he's done as a manager so far would indicate that blind faith?

His tactics won us the second leg away from home and got us the penalty shoot out against a side that finished above us in the League.

Swansea didn't go on and get promoted again instantly. Southampton have a brilliant youth setup and as a result had players far better than ours. Plenty of other managers take sides up and **** up in the Championship, so to say getting that side to 5th is failure is just, frankly, ridiculous.

Not my call to keep or change the manager but would have thought if it was going to be done would have been done before now. The owners are in town so maybe they may change things to have hopefully a big final push. Maybe a very popular irishman who's right hand man lives up the road in Nottingham might want to try and weave a bit of magic.

One things for sure if this run of results was at the start of the season there would be very few calls to stick with the manager.

Seriously? Do I actually have to list the amount of clubs that have achieved promotion from League One and either gone straight back down or become mid table also rans or are you going to admit your wrong?

Actually I think I'm right that he has never got a team promoted from the championship?

Coming 5th the season after getting promotion was a failure? Do you want your head checking? I suppose you despise MON for not winning us the PL.

Anything other than promotion is failure. Especially this season with our wage budget.

What we "need" from this season is the POs. Less than that isn't acceptable, therefore a game that costs us our place in the top two is not a must win as we're still left on target for our minimum objective.

Tonight was pretty close to must win though, can't really argue with you about that.

What's an also ran? I'm not sure what I'm happy with, although 5th place AFTER COMING UP FROM LEAGUE ONE was one thing.

We weren't talking about this season were we?

We were discussing whether or not he is, as Seenitall put it, 'a League One manager'. You've agreed with that and called taking a decent at best Championship side to 5th in the table failure. You seem to think it can be used to dismiss Pearson as a League One manager.

You accuse Pearson fans of having blind faith, but you're absolutely blind to any success he has had. It's pathetic.

AFTER GETTING PROMOTED FROM LEAGUE ONE???????????????

Forget that season!! It's now that matters!!! For goodness sake, we have the biggest wage budget and have gone on the worst run of form!! What's your excuse for this season!!

But that's the season we were discussing, that's the season you made a moronic point about, that's the season about which I replied to you.

We were discussing whether or not he's a League One manager, I think his career as a manager is very relevant to that discussion myself.

I don't think I'm blind to it. He was successful in winning league one at a canter. He then took a fairly average team to 5th. Fair play to him. He then went to hull and couldn't take them up. He came back to us, and built a breathtaking team... Until they got found out...then he was clueless and keeps changing the team / tactics every game.

Well that wasn't the part of your post I was referring too was it so do you want to keep making a dick out of yourself or do you want to stay on subject?

You said that was failure a minute ago. :frusty:

That's what we were arguing about, as originally you didn't say 'fair play to him', you said that that was a failure.

Why do you have to revert to abuse? It shows quite a huge lack of intelligence! There really is no need.

He is a failure!!!! Not getting promoted is failure!

Before you say it "not another one of these threads blah blah" this isn't a knee jerk reaction. What we have to ask ourselves is are we any better off that 12 months ago? my opinion is no and this is why:

1. MONEY SPENT: We have strengthened the team with £4m+ worth of signings in the Summer and January. without taking into account whether they are any good, that is a serious sum of cash that most Championship teams wont spend in 3+ seasons.

2. CONSISTENCY: Again just like last season, we have been inconsistent throughout the season, with 2 spells of 5 or 6 game win streaks, but at the other end of the spectrum we are currently in our worst form for 6 years. so for me I have to say we are more inconsistent this season than last.

3. SELECTION POLICY: This has been more noticeable this season than last. We have players like Knockaert who is, I grant you, out of form which is Pearson's reason for dropping him. but aren't they all? I mean Nuge hasn't scored since January 31st! thats getting towards 3 months. Furthermore he is playing the likes of Chris Wood (who I thought more than did his bit tonight) on the wing, despite him being a finisher and a decent header of the ball. Finally Harry Kane, now i'm not going to slate the lad because its not his fault, but he is slow, weak and plays like he has been dossed up with horse tranquilliser! and yet Pearson insists on bringing him on.

4.DANNS: with Wellens our only CM cover, why, on earth is Danns not back? he is energetic, and works hard for the team. Maybe heaven for bid if we was with us we could drop Drinkwater who has been dire for weeks with his missed place passes.

so AGAIN tonight, why play Wood on the wing? why bring on Kane? i'm not solely blaming him. but if those Schlupp chances fell to Wood i would have been much happier. and for that to happen he needs to play upfront.

reading that, all I can come up with myself is we do need a change if the right man is there. Im not saying "SACK PEARSON NOW I WANT HIM GONE" because i'm stupid enough to think Pearson is the worst manager going. but for a team giving a manager blank cheque for the last 3 or 4 years we should be doing much better than we are. The owners have done all they can do get us up and I'm sure more than any of us, they will be feeling sick tonight with their multi million dollar investment faltering when it matters most.
