Sack him now!

I don't see how you can call abuse directed at players (and the manager) as "criticism". I have yet to see or hear a fan or fans having a in-depth discussion with players (or the manager, for that matter) regarding their performance(s).

In the end, it's abuse. Pure and simple. It's probably the only, yet the fatal flaw in your assertion.

Not all footballers are perfect (but I do know some people treat them as semi-gods and cannot cope with their human behaviour when mistakes happen), just as people aren't perfect.

If you expect footballers to act professionally, I suggest you do the same.

Are you suggesting that there is something unprofessional in my claims? We aren't professional writers doing a professional job writing on this forum, nor are we professionals as fans. That appears to be the fatal flaw in your argument - that you expect fans to behave as professionals.

The players and the manager, on the other hand, are professionals and have to behave as such. And no, I don't believe that the 'abuse' - if that is what you want to call it (I think it's a rather hysterical misuse of a word when we use a term we tend to reserve for serious crimes to refer to banal hollering at a football match, especially when the hollering in question is neither abhorrently personal nor prejudiced) - is something that is unique to Leicester City. What is unique is that we have players and staff clashing with the fans on a regular basis.

When a student tells a teacher to 'f*** off' some teachers consider that to be abuse. But if the teacher replies by telling the student to 'f*** off' they are fired. I don't expect football managers to be treated so rigidly, but we should at least accept that our staff have behaved unprofessionally.

And to say that the players have responded in this way to 'abuse' rather than 'criticism' is equally misleading. Like him or not, the questions posed by Stringer which elicited blunt, graceless and ill-worded responses from Pearson were not 'abuse'. When Pearson said 'if you don't like it, don't come' he wasn't only addressing people who verbally abused him, he was addressing his fans; his critics.

Perhaps Pearson has listened to a few too many people like yourself, telling him that it's right to wrap his players up in cotton wool, shield them from the media, protect them from the nasty fans and their awful expectations. But ultimately his failure to live up to those expectations could - and probably should - cost him his job. It's time to face up to the pressure rather than complaining about it.

Just shows how bad he is for the club .... Almost every fan i speak to face to face these days that I know from years of seeing them at the football seems disinterested and not engaged with the football like we should be at this stage of the season.

Several, like me, have completely lost interest. Seems like the club have given up and accepted mediocrity is OK .... 7 points from 36 and we haven't sacked the manager .... I'm starting to lose faith in the owners now after sacking Sven too early and NP too late.

Hi

I've only been watching Leicester as a STH for three seasons but I've never felt more passionate about the club. Just wanted to put that out there, not everyone has given up.

Don't act like you're a hero now just because people have changed their minds.

Just because you're right now doesn't mean you weren't wrong months ago.

He wasn't wrong, just has foresight

We will see whether Brighton was a one off, but I would take results over performances in the short term, and sadly results haven't been that great.

If we have turned a corner we will beat Brum and Bolton lets hope we can do it otherwise I fear for us to make the playoffs. Come on City.

This, come on City!!!!!

Think this is a very valid point ... i'm not sure the players care about city that much either and this is part of the problem

BREAKING: Leeds confirm the appointment of ex-Reading boss Brian McDermott as their new manager.

Another potential replacement goes to pastures new.

And for anyone wondering, my enter key is still not working, it just turns out that if you post directly below your own post, it adds it to the previous one!

.. And some people moan about Pearson's style! McDermott's great tactic was long to Kebe, flick it on. It did get Reading out of the division though, and he is a good appointment for Leeds. (But I'm one for keeping Pearson).

Oh, and if McDermott was our manager, we would have many 'McDermott out' threads because Reading were bottom of the league at the start of the season, losing to teams like Millwall and Barnsley at home.

Not bothered about McDermott .... If we change it has to be a significant improvement not just another average championship mgr.

Well said we won't do better if we don't bring in someone better

And then got sacked.

I'd like to see a manager who got us playing some really good football such that we go up AND have a chance of staying up.

And if he ever manages it with another club I'll eat my hat. People moan about Pearson being tactically rigid and predictable - this guy makes Pearson look like the ****ing Napoleon of football tacticians. The McDermott philosophy; hump it up to the biggest ****er on the pitch. If that doesn't work, lump it up to the biggest ****er on the pitch. At least Pearson's shown he can get his teams playing attacking, passing football.

Wow, that was more sweary than I thought.

Agree fully with the posts above. I'm glad BM is nowhere near our club. I don't have anything against him but I have a feeling that it might not go that well for him up in Leeds.

Why would a manager significantly better than an average Championship manager join an average Championship team?

We can dream - why would an average Championship team invite a below average/league 1 manager to join them on a million pounds a year - weird shit happens
