paulsherwood1 Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 He's not wrong though, is he? I still don't see where Pearson has ever got a team promoted from this league? So he is wrong... Yes.
theessexfox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Why do you have to revert to abuse? It shows quite a huge lack of intelligence! There really is no need. He is a failure!!!! Not getting promoted is failure! Not getting promoted in our first season after league one was a failure?!?!?!?! It is failure! We didn't get promoted!! Are you happy to finish 5th every season!!! WHAT? You just said fair play to him for that? No, but I was happy to finish fifth in our FIRST SEASON AFTER PROMOTION FROM LEAGUE FU*KING ONE.
paulsherwood1 Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Before you say it "not another one of these threads blah blah" this isn't a knee jerk reaction. What we have to ask ourselves is are we any better off that 12 months ago? my opinion is no and this is why: 1. MONEY SPENT: We have strengthened the team with £4m+ worth of signings in the Summer and January. without taking into account whether they are any good, that is a serious sum of cash that most Championship teams wont spend in 3+ seasons. 2. CONSISTENCY: Again just like last season, we have been inconsistent throughout the season, with 2 spells of 5 or 6 game win streaks, but at the other end of the spectrum we are currently in our worst form for 6 years. so for me I have to say we are more inconsistent this season than last. 3. SELECTION POLICY: This has been more noticeable this season than last. We have players like Knockaert who is, I grant you, out of form which is Pearson's reason for dropping him. but aren't they all? I mean Nuge hasn't scored since January 31st! thats getting towards 3 months. Furthermore he is playing the likes of Chris Wood (who I thought more than did his bit tonight) on the wing, despite him being a finisher and a decent header of the ball. Finally Harry Kane, now i'm not going to slate the lad because its not his fault, but he is slow, weak and plays like he has been dossed up with horse tranquilliser! and yet Pearson insists on bringing him on. 4.DANNS: with Wellens our only CM cover, why, on earth is Danns not back? he is energetic, and works hard for the team. Maybe heaven for bid if we was with us we could drop Drinkwater who has been dire for weeks with his missed place passes. reading that, all I can come up with myself is we do need a change if the right man is there. Im not saying "SACK PEARSON NOW I WANT HIM GONE" because i'm stupid enough to think Pearson is the worst manager going. but for a team giving a manager blank cheque for the last 3 or 4 years we should be doing much better than we are. The owners have done all they can do get us up and I'm sure more than any of us, they will be feeling sick tonight with their multi million dollar investment faltering when it matters most. Spot on.... You can borrow my tin hat though pal, the Pearson lovers are out in force tonight!!!!
Grewks Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Money spent - We have invested.... we haven't a lot of cash, and before NP came back we had barely any players with re-sale value. If we sold De Laet, Wood and knocky i believe you would already make a profit in comparison to what we have spent. Ever thought we may have loaned out danns to save wages?? We cannot afford to keep sacking staff....our debt is a serious issue.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Headbutted me while shagging his daughter. Hello Chris.
Mark_w Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 He then took a fairly average team to 5th. Fair play to him. It is failure! We didn't get promoted!! Think you should go away, have a good think about what your opinion actually is and get back to us when you've worked it out.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 I still don't see where Pearson has ever got a team promoted from this league? So he is wrong... Yes. So Frustrating. Where did I ever say he had. I said about 20 teams have had come up from League One and not gone up the season after, compared to your 3, even though I believe Swansea had SEVERAL SEASONS consolidating in this division, so perhaps even two. So for the second time do you want to stay on subject or continue making an absolute dick out of yourself.
paulsherwood1 Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Not getting promoted in our first season after league one was a failure?!?!?!?! WHAT? You just said fair play to him for that? No, but I was happy to finish fifth in our FIRST SEASON AFTER PROMOTION FROM LEAGUE FU*KING ONE. Look, he did ok getting us to 5th that season. If the guy was any good I would be 100% behind him. However, it's clear he is tactically poor, and obviously falls out with anyone who doesn't tow his line. Given the investment in our club, do you find our current position acceptable?
bluefox9er Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 I disagree. Modern footballers are brought and sold for inflated stupid prices. What no one seems to realise is that for our squad, which at best is upper-mid league one standard, we have been fighting for promotion for a premiership spot. There arn't many league one squads that could do that. I think we have hugely overachieved this season.
BlueFoxInABox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Why make this thread after tonight though? Because again tonight, why play Wood on the wing? why bring on Kane? i'm not solely blaming him. but if those Schlupp chances fell to Wood i would have been much happier. and for that to happen he needs to play upfront.

We weren't discussing the current position, you have now said: 1.) Getting 5th in our first season back after League One was a complete failure. 2.) Fair play to him for getting 5th in our first season back after League One. 3.) Getting 5th in our first season back after League One was a failure. 4.) Getting 5th in our first season back after League One was okay. What do you actually think?
seenitall Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Sven won Serie A but we hated him -i think thats better than winning Division 3 but it seems not

NP never promoted a team from this league NP is the manager who is overseeing the worst run in 6 years at our club. NP is the man who built a great team that looked invincible Until Christmas and clueless since. I don't think I'm being unfair in saying that the Only thing he has achieved at our club is promotion from league 1? ( no need for the Dick bit again! Surely we both support the same team?)

I thought he did well to get to 5th in our first season after promotion for League One too... I can see what you're saying though, it's a fair enough view to have, just conveying it a bit stupidly (and confusingly).

Getting 5th was ok, but screwing up the play offs with appalling tactics wasn't. It's the same appalling tactics that are costing us this season!!! Why are you concentrating on that season when this is the one that matters!
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Sven won Serie A but we hated him -i think thats better than winning Division 3 but it seems not Endless money. Probably half of the league and refs paid off as well knowing Italian football at the time.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Lets get this fvcking season over with and then take stock Preferably with a decent manager

I can see what you're saying though, it's a fair enough view to have, just conveying it a bit stupidly (and confusingly). I think that's because I'm on my 6th Stella. Maybe I should come back tomorrow!
Mark_w Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Look, this has got confusing!!!!! You mean you've completely confused yourself, contradicting yourself several times in your attempts to slate Pearson and you're now desperately trying to cling on to this poorly constructed argument because you have an irrational hatred for the best manager we've had in a decade?

It's the same appalling tactics that are costing us this season!!! Why are you concentrating on that season when this is the one that matters! I'm concentrating on that season as we were discussing that season (and whether Pearson was a 'League One manager') when you posted a moronic reply about that season. Enlighten me as to what the appalling tactics were? Telling Kermo to chip it down the middle? Fine margins.

I'm not calling you a dick just appealing for you to stop acting like one. Your correct in everything you say. You and others seem to forget we are not the only team with money or good players in this division, on stock he has not done a bad job, do you see anyone else coming in and doing better? I don't.... not until the end of the season at the earliest anyway.

Look, forget his first period in charge. Where are we now? Outside the play offs. 1 win in 13. Then the best is not good enough!
