Happy Fox Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 We will see whether Brighton was a one off, but I would take results over performances in the short term, and sadly results haven't been that great. If we have turned a corner we will beat Brum and Bolton lets hope we can do it otherwise I fear for us to make the playoffs. Come on City.
Buzzell Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 I know it's off topic but who was it that said Blackburn Rovers were the dark horses, and said they would leap frog us in the league? Whoever it was hasn't got a clue about football, there 3rd from bottom.
paulsherwood1 Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 The turnaround starts now. Not sure about that! We went back to the previous version of Leicester, the one that misses all the chances, takes the lead and then let's in the inevitable 88th min goal!!!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 April 2013 Posted 7 April 2013 Turn it around nige He is on borrowed time but let's hope he can turn things around
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 He is on borrowed time but let's hope he can turn things around Can't see it happening though, my friend.
Mark_w Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I just accidently voted this thread four stars, why can't I take it back?

Guest Col city fan Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 You been victimised buddy? To be fair, with their squad Blackburn have done INCREDIBLY badly this season. Might have summat to do with all the management changes?

Fox1norfolk Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 6 points out of a possible 39 ! NP must have a 'Teflon' finish knowone else would have survived so long
5waller5 Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 6 points out of a possible 39 ! NP must have a 'Teflon' finish knowone else would have survived so long 7 from 36 isn't it?? Your point remains though!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 Can't see it happening though, my friend. To be fair DT I can't really either but hoping still we manage to pull some results out of the bag soon
Fox1norfolk Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 7 from 36 isn't it?? Your point remains though! Maths was'nt my strongest subject, well spotted. Just 7points from a possible 36 Its still quite a unbelievable record for any league
teblin Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 Maths was'nt my strongest subject, well spotted. Just 7points from a possible 36 Its still quite a unbelievable record for any league Frustrating think is if we'd have got 14 (which is still poor) we'd be half in with a chance of automatic.

JonnyBoy Posted 9 April 2013 Posted 9 April 2013 i think if we win the next two it will be down to the last game of the season at Forest away
inckley fox Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 In some respects I'd prefer Pearson to stay, promotion or no promotion, than for him to be replaced by some of the alternatives. I understood the logic of firing him during the international break and bringing in someone in the short term who might have the motivational qualities he lacked - take Keane, for example: In the long term his appointment would be worrying, but as a motivational fillip it could have worked. Yet replacing Pearson with McDermott, Ince, McClaren, Keane or Hughes in the summer could be a step sideways. McDermott and Keane have had some success in the league, but it's been counter-balanced by disappointments. The others lack experience at this level. I'd be delighted to see O'Neill return, but it's a very long shot and as various pundits have pointed out he has lost a lot of the verve that made him once so great. Pearson, then, has the advantage of knowing the squad and being able to work on a budget. The critical factor is whether he has learned from some fairly glaring errors committed since January: The Schlupp debacle; the loaning out of all cover players in defence only for the defence to start leaking goals and picking up injuries, the failure to bring in a midfield general, the inability to surprise teams with line-ups or formations, always picking the same team after a win and - above all - leading players to believe that they are doing enough when they quite clearly aren't. This final one is where I'm still worried. Like fans of most clubs I despair at some of our supporters, but equally we have one of the most vocal away followings and a large, if frequently subdued, home crowd. Yet we've seen various players reacting furiously to criticism from the stands: Konchesky twice picking a fight with them, Marshall yelling abuse, Pearson getting involved in a row and then insulting fans and local media on the radio. Schmeichel was also rumoured to have had a go at away fans. This doesn't happen at clubs that win promotion - and not because their fans are perfect, but because professionals act professionally and understand when they're under-performing. James came on the radio and said it was a 'blessing' that we went out of the Cup and today said that if we continue to play like we did at Brighton, where our pass completion rate was fairly awful, then we'll make the play-offs. Pearson said 'we can't do anything' about losing games and today said he wants his players to feel 'no pressure except for the pressure to enjoy their football'. Again, he is doing all he can to help players avoid facing up to their responsibilities. And that is what I think will cost him his job. In 94 when we won the play-offs Little commented that his players were more serious as they approached Wembley. It wasn't about enjoying the game, it was about business. That's the impression given by Bruce and Mackay. The problem has been that neither players nor management at Leicester have approached the run-in with the professionalism and conviction required to go up. He needs to learn fast. And the signs aren't all that good.

And the signs aren't all that good. I don't see how you can call abuse directed at players (and the manager) as "criticism". I have yet to see or hear a fan or fans having a in-depth discussion with players (or the manager, for that matter) regarding their performance(s). In the end, it's abuse. Pure and simple. It's probably the only, yet the fatal flaw in your assertion. Not all footballers are perfect (but I do know some people treat them as semi-gods and cannot cope with their human behaviour when mistakes happen), just as people aren't perfect. If you expect footballers to act professionally, I suggest you do the same.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 10 April 2013 Posted 10 April 2013 i think if we win the next two it will be down to the last game of the season at Forest away Oh dear where we havent won a league game for 40 plus years!! Doh!!! We're doomed
