Mark_w Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Look, forget the season you were having a conversation about. No thanks.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Look, forget his first period in charge. Where are we now? Outside the play offs. 1 win in 13. Then the best is not good enough! Think it's one win in Fourteen now
paulsherwood1 Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 I'm not calling you a dick just appealing for you to stop acting like one. Your correct in everything you say. You and others seem to forget we are not the only team with money or good players in this division, on stock he has not done a bad job, do you see anyone else coming in and doing better? I don't.... not until the end of the season at the earliest anyway. There is probably no one who can come in and make a difference with 4 games to go. However, we can get someone better for next season. He has actually done a bad job since Christmas. But it's probably too late to save this season now
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 You mean you've completely confused yourself, contradicting yourself several times in your attempts to slate Pearson and you're now desperately trying to cling on to this poorly constructed argument because you have an irrational hatred for the best manager we've had in a decade? How many more times are you gonna bring that phrase up? If 'The best manager in a decade' has led us to our longest run without a victory in six years it shows just what a shower of fookin shite we have had! You sound like you say this with some pride! You are incredibly easily satisfied..
paulsherwood1 Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 No thanks. Fine. Live in the past then. Completely forget the fact we were challenging Cardiff about 14 games ago, forget the fact that the play offs looked a cert. forget this season and concentrate on another season!!! Wierd.

Completely forget the fact we were challenging Cardiff about 14 games ago, forget the fact that the play offs looked a cert. forget this season and concentrate on another season!!! Wierd. READ THE THREAD. Then you'll understand that we were debating whether Pearson is a 'League One manager', hence why his previous seasons came up. A subject entirely relevant the the topic in which it was posted.
Happy Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 NFP will be gone sooner rather than later no point crying about it lets hope that the owners appoint the right manager this time round! my preference would be MON or Di Matteo and next season we will get promotion.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Lets limp to the end of this miserable season and then take stock Preferably with a different manager
seenitall Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Steve Wigley is listed as the fifth worst manager ever for one win in 14 matches -i'll leave that with you

Do you honestly think that MON or Di Matteo will come here?

What makes you think that changing the manager, the best we've had in 10 years, is going to result in us finding a manager better than Pearson?

He has actually done a bad job since Christmas. But it's probably too late to save this season now That's is where you are wrong. It is not, by a long way, we are still in touch even if all of our rivals win tomorrow it it still in our hands. This isn't over unless we give up. There isn't a lot any of us can do now, apart from cross our fingers and get behind the team and hope for the best. Pearson should be given complete and utter backing and support as there isn't a thing we can do as fans to help the club other than that at the minute. Fair play to our fans tonight they seemed to realize that this evening Let the inquest begin in the summer.

What makes you think that changing the manager, the best we've had in 10 years, is going to result in us finding a manager better than Pearson? Just under ten years ago Adams took us up to the Premiership, while in administration, without spending a cent. Okay, so I'm not sure I could convincingly argue that Kelly saving us from relegation twice on a shoestring is of equal significance, but surely Adams makes your 'ten years' a little optimistic?

Maybe, Micky still had a stronger side than any I think Pearson's had in the Championship and not as a result of his work in the transfer window. Pearson took a very average side to 5th in the Championship just a few positions under what Adams did with a much stronger side. I guess if this bad run is turned around and if Pearson gets more time to put things right will determine who is remembered as being the better manager. I don't think either is head and shoulders above the other.

Ex England and premiership players, best centre half and keeper in the league etc.... What about what he's doing now!
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 If anybody thinks we are going to sack the manager with 4 games to go then they are even more ****ing mental than I probably already thought they were.

But Adams Anyone who thinks Adams did well in the Prem needs their heads checking, signed car crash defender after car crash defender, then left us in a utter utter mess. Thank fully his career has never recovered, we went up because of Muzzy Izzet that season, and the fact people were comparing Anthony Knockaert to him at the start of this season made me physically sick.
Mark_w Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 You keep harping on about what Pearson did with the average side.... I can't stress this enough, THAT'S WHAT THE DISCUSSION WAS ABOUT. Got that yet?

He did actually get to the Premier League though. 9 years and 11 months ago! And if you recall, we didn't part with a single fee for our signings that following summer. No, I wasn't his greatest fan, but he still reached greater heights, with a lower budget, than Pearson.
katieakita Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 Plenty on here calling for him to go but soon shut up when we were linked to Ince. Is there anyone out there who is better or more importantly wants the job.

TBF though the league was much weaker then and we still had some genuine quality players in the team like Izzet and Taggart for example.

I mean this in the nicest possible way but **** off mate. with the 10 years things your splitting hairs by 2 weeks, what do you want Mark to say? He's the best manager we've had in 9 years 11 months and 2 weeks? Behave. I can recall our team, we had no budget, infact I believe we had a transfer embargo so we couldn't sign anyone, a fuking good job with Adams if you ask me, fortunatly we had lads at the club capable of doing a job and by far the best midfielder in the division, that is why we went up, end of.
Happy Fox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 MON, Lennon, Di Matteo, Mick McCarthy even Mark Hughes are better options than NP.
