flowwolf Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 The ones around the ground they will make money from, if it's on their property and they will be charged for taking a pitch there. So why not have their own around the ground and keep ALL the profit ?
ousefox Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 So why not have their own around the ground and keep ALL the profit ? never understood why they don't do this. It's not difficult to make and serve football food and drink and it would make them more flexible in what they serve
Guest Bilo Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 I've said for years that they should give every season ticket holder a free scarf. Nothing fancy, just plain blue and white. Give them away on the first game of the season and I reckon a simple thing like that would increase the atmosphere due to more people joining in with the "we love you" chant. I agree with this as an idea. It wouldn't cost the club a fortune, would be a neat way of thanking fans for their investment in a season ticket and would help to improve the atmosphere as you say. As for ticket prices. I don't think the cost of a season ticket is that bad to be honest IF you take away all of these offers that benefit everyone but STHs during the season. Two or three is fine but to have them week in week out is getting ridiculous as lets face it, the crowd numbers never change significantly. Season ticket pricing is OK, but could be cheaper and benefits to sweeten the package are of the utmost importance. I can't put my finger on why the special offers aren't working the way they used to. It's only a couple of seasons ago that the Fans' Fixtures pulled in 28,000 for Doncaster and Bristol City, the latter on a Friday night. Perhaps less often and £10 a ticket is the answer. One thing that does bug me is the large variation in season ticket costs depending on where you sit. Quick bit of research shows that someone sitting on the far right of block G2 will be paying £110 less than the person on the far left of H1. The view is near identical as only the steps seperate them and therefore doesn't justify such a large hike. My season ticket seat is in H1 and is about the equivalent of the view from L1, but my ST was £90 extra. Maybe split that block as H1 and H2 as that is the only block in that stand that is so big. (Selfish point that one I know but wouldn't mind knowing why the price jumps so much between G2 and H1. Mystery isn't it? I think it'd be easier if they simplified it further; behind goal prices, wings, corners and centre. Social media - ensure that players are educated on the damage it can do if not used correctly.Knockaert's comments the other day were very unprofessional and if he has a problem then it should be dealt with internally. It's a recipe for disaster. Either ban it altogether or offer a full on education, preferably starting with the Academy. Cup games - I think bringing back the "first cup game is free" to season ticket holders is a no brainer. Compare the burton Capital One Cup game this season to the game against Crewe a few years back. I can understand why they stopped it because it could either be a Tuesday night at home to Bury or a saturday afternoon against Man Utd (which would mean they miss out on a fortune) but it's the luck of the draw and the kind of thing that the fans will appreciate. Something needs to be done, they're a damp squib and a half. While we're in the Championship, the worries about the club losing out on a big fixture are lessened by the fact that FL clubs only start in Round 1 of the Capital One Cup. Worst case scenario? Forest at home, which isn't enthusiastically received in cup games anyway. Non match day events - to be honest, I couldn't care less about the bingo events and things like that. I do think there needs to be more events for the kids though. Every half term there's a signing session but that's not a massive commitment by the club. The kids are the future Leicester fans and the only reason I became a fan was from going to the reserve games at Filbert Street. Cheap as anything, and a fun night out Me too. Family Night Fun was just that, it's the only time my mum has ever been to a football match anyway! They were insanely cheap, a good way of watching the youngsters and reserves come through and the entertainment for kids was great. To be honest though, the majority of the above is irrelevant. If the football is entertaining and the players are committed then win, lose or draw, most people will be happy. Great post that.

I like that fact that it's taken till the 22nd home game for me to really notice. I swear it never used to be that much of a difference between the two blocks. Great post that. Cheers. Do you remember the FNF game against Man Utd at Filbert Street? 14k crowd I think it was for a reserve game.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 Cheers. Do you remember the FNF game against Man Utd at Filbert Street? 14k crowd I think it was for a reserve game. I do indeed, I remember being disappointed we weren't in the Kop! I'm sure that was a record attendance for any reserve game at the time, I could be wrong though.
yorkie1999 Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 How about asking the club to do one of these http://tag.huggity.com/fanpic/028-2012-zoopla-wba-chelsea/app/index.php
flowwolf Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 As the owners now also own the ground could they make an effort to get the outside of the stadium cleaned up ? The white pillars are filthy and have not been cleaned since the stadium was built , and the advertising is dirty and faded coupled with broken panels . The general look of the stadium as you walk towards it is shabby and second rate and has an air of neglect about it.. Surely it would not cost that much to make it presentable again. I know what away fans have said because I heard them, their comments were dirty city and dirty ground to match. Come on Top get it cleaned up.

This was one of the first things I said when they bought the place. I personally think they should install cladding around the stadium as at the near identical St. Mary's. That place is actually a year older, is a near identical design and yet looks so much fresher because of the panelling. Something like that or what the Cardiff City Stadium had before the rebranding would look much better than what we have, which I totally agree looks tired and neglected.
Libertine Dream Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 Some great suggestions in here and I really hope the club listens to fans. From what I've heard of people that have dealt with Susan Whelan, she is keen to do whatever she can for the fans. They had a box holders meeting a few weeks ago and it was said that people weren't seeing it as an experience just sitting in a box for a football match. Her reply was that they can have a free meal and free bar for one of the last 3 home games

While they're doing that get rid of the awful Cov City blue office facade.
leicesterseddon Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 Get rid of the goal music, get rid of the jazzed-up PHG, get rid of 'Hey Jude' before kick-off. Stop wheeling out the ****ing Birch to beg the fans to sing if it's a 'big game'. If they do all that I'll be impressed though. Perhaps even one would be a stretch.

Leicester Lass Posted 18 April 2013 Author Posted 18 April 2013 Right, so a bit of summary of what happened last night. I didn't manage to mention all points that were asked in this thread, but hopefully covered most of the important ones and I will try and raise the others at future meetings. Matchday Experience Substitutions not read out before the game - this is done to try and keep the atmosphere going, as previously the cheers for the first team players are obviously muted when the substitutions are read out. They also can't show the substitutions on screen at the minute due to a software issue. Personally think it's a bit silly that they don't mention the subs at any point. Betting kiosks - It was mentioned, although I wouldn't expect them to reappear. The club recognises there has been a shift towards mobile betting, and the club does have an online betting partner. Apparently bookmakers are not keen either, due to the low stakes people tend to bet with at football grounds. No taxi rank at the stadium - Logistically not feasible, particularly when there are a large number of away coaches. There is a freephone in the main reception which can be used to book Swift Cabs. Use of screens, highights of U21 matches - Idea seemed to be well received, all the matches are recorded so is a possibility. Can't currently show the time and score throughout the whole game due to some kind of software issue. Has to come over from Thailand apparently, but it is something that they want to fix. Less/quieter pre-match music - I suggested they should get rid of Hey Jude, the rest of the members of the committee seemed to agree, particularly as it has no affiliation to our club. The club accept that the sound system is not great any more due to wear and tear. Goal music was also mentioned, don't think they will get rid entirely unfortunately, but they may be welcome to a change in music. The possibility of a fans vote was discussed, with a selection of songs to choose from. Ticket Pricing Dynamic Pricing - The club are aware this has been a big success at both Derby and Cardiff. Not sure there are any immediate plans to integrate it here. General discussion that prices are not affordable and have had an impact on attendances. LCFC Direct Away priority for Forest - Obviously as you have all seen today, not an issue as they are not selling tickets online, largely due to the threads they read on here about people wanting to exploit the system. They are in talks as to whether a live beamback to the KP stadium is achievable for the Forest match. New manager in the Megastore, who is hoping for a big shake up of the stock items in the store, particularly an improvement to the range for women. They appreciate the website needs sorting out navigation-wise and the pictures of stock. ST and Memberships Big talking point about whether there has been any benefit of having a ST this year due to all the ticket offers that are on. The ST price proposals are in discussion, although I wouldn't expect we'll find out for a while yet. Fans all agreed that anything other than a price freeze would be an insult to the fans. Club stated that a lot of clubs who have announced their prices so far have announced freezes, although not much was given away about our potential prices. The reason our prices are announced later nowadays is that there isn't the same cash flow issues as in previous years. Free Cup Game included in ST - The club are not allowed to do this without offering the same to the away team. Middlesbrough Offer of Free Drink - If the catering was in-house this may be an option, but the contracted caterers means this is not a viable option. Again with a free scarf, the price would be the big thing putting them off. Matchday Catering Club are equally frustrated about the situation. They have a long-term contract with the current caterers, although it may be an option to buy out the contract and bring the catering in-house if we get to the Premiership. The big thing is that they need people to complain if they experience issues, so they can take the complaints onto the caterers. Non-Matchday Events General consensus was that there is a good range of events on offer, catering for all generations and budgets. They are welcome to ideas about what people would like to go to though, so any ideas please let me know. There was a suggestion for FCC members to hold a meeting with the fans, so you get to know our faces and can raise any ideas that you have. Social Media Getting better, away ticket updates on Twitter are well received. Club advised that there have been staffing increases so there should be more improvement and personalisation of the Twitter services. One example was trying to get fans to tweet pictures of their away days. I'm sure there's things I've missed, BrummieFox on here is also a member of the sub-committee so I'm sure he'll fill in the gaps. Also, this meeting was more informal than the last one and there were no directors there representing the Club and no Susan Whelan, so it was difficult to gauge if there would actually be a response from the club regarding any of the ideas raised. However, there were good, in-depth discussions and the club representatives were certainly willing to listen and very welcome and receptive to hear ideas. Thanks for everyone who posted a suggestion in this thread, and apologies if I didn't manage to raise your point.

L1HT Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Lets get this straight 'Price Freeze' = Same price as the final full price the previous season. So if you renewed as an 'early bird' the previous season you will infact probs pay out £30/£40 more = Price Rise Stop treating us like mugs with this bullshit
wattolcfc Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 To be honest, after reading through that, it sounds like this committee has just been arranged so that it appears the club are trying to communicate with fans but in reality they won't change the fundamentals which we are really aggrieved with i.e ticket prices. I can't see anything much being achieved from this.
Kitchandro Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 I think at the next meeting you should show our displeasure in this manner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NDPT0Ph5rA
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 To be honest, after reading through that, it sounds like this committee has just been arranged so that it appears the club are trying to communicate with fans but in reality they won't change the fundamentals which we are really aggrieved with i.e ticket prices. I can't see anything much being achieved from this. I disagree to an extent. The club can't just change their prices based on a few hundred fans who may have complained directly to the club or to Leicester Lass etc. I'm sure they're taking on board everything we say to them, it doesn't mean though that they can act on everything.
ADK Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 I think its a good thing to have a committee, unfortunately sometimes the club will be put in a situation where they can't really fulfill peoples wishes. Prices for example, although everyone moans about prices at the end of the day the club wants to make as much money as possible out of tickets and that will always leave some people priced out.
ousefox Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 Thanks for taking the time to write all that up. Interesting read.
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 No directors there representing the Club and no Susan Whelan, who was there from the club? Thanks for the updates.
Father Ted Posted 18 April 2013 Posted 18 April 2013 One issue which I wish I had raised to you before the meeting was regarding Student season ticket prices or in general a larger decrease in Under-22 season ticket prices. Was highly disappointed with Susan Whelan's rather arrogant stance against student fans this time last season. In my opinion, it is one of the only things she seems to have got wrong... this may just be a gut shot but we seem to have a large following between the ages of 16 and 21, i.e. babies of the O'Neill era and by acting against these fans, these fans could become disillusioned with the club in the future.

L1HT Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 It wasn't like that 2 or 3 seasons ago when I'd had enough of this spin of 'price freeze' which was the headline in the mercury and people saying how great manderic was when in real terms more money left my bank. At least last 2 seasons there was no bullshit and just said we're raising prices (in a recession)
