Stadt Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Is Barkley the lad who broke his legs and went on loan to Leeds? He's been on loan to near enough everyone
Grandad. Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Is Barkley the lad who broke his legs and went on loan to Leeds? Your point being? He's been on loan to near enough everyone Been on loan twice at the age of 20 to Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday.
Stadt Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Your point being? Been on loan twice at the age of 20 to Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday. I've done a Marriner - It's Townsend that's been on loan loads
Guest MattP Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 We should have huge hopes for Ross Barkley now, Everton have done the sensible thing as well and actually let him develop properly and not force him into playing 40 game seasons at the age of 17-18 that could see his career ravaged with injuries ala Owen and Gazza. He reminds me of a young Ballack the way he controls the football, hopefully he can be just as good as him and if not even better. Please don't go to Man City, the thought of him sitting on a bench week in week out so some 50million Argentine can take his place is too much to bare, learn from Rodwell, Sinclair, Milner and Johnson. (although I admit none of those are on his level) And Luke Shaw 30million plus? He's a good prospect but come on, that's beyond ridiculous for any full back.
Danno Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Didn't Neil Warnock say Barkley wasn't good enough for championship football? Jesus.

That's made me think a lot about Arsenal actually. All their younger players always seem to be suffering injuries such as Van Persie, Walcott, Wilshire, Gibbs and the Ox, I'll exclude Ramsey at the moment as that was a different nature of injury. I wonder if all these players with recurring injury problems are due to Wenger throwing them into the first team far too early and expecting them to play every game?

Had the same discussion with people before and certainly think their could be something in it. It's happened to so many top players who were threw in so young, Owen, Gazza, Best, Maradona, Ronaldo just off the top of my head, sure their are hundreds more. Didn't Neil Warnock say Barkley wasn't good enough for championship football? Jesus.
Dan Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Didn't Neil Warnock say Barkley wasn't good enough for championship football? Jesus. Imagine thinking Warnock isn't a dinosaur
ScouseFox Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Didn't Neil Warnock say Barkley wasn't good enough for championship football? Jesus. he ended his loan early because michael brown returned from injury and he deemed him a vastly superior footballer
Dan Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 True. Barkley would've been straight in there if he was part of his Sheff Utd team in 2004
Samilktray Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Your point being? Been on loan twice at the age of 20 to Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday. It was just a question you lame guy.
Grandad. Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 It was just a question you lame guy. Lame guy? You clearly know who Ross Barkley is and who we were on about, stop trying to be sarcastic and funny. Actually from the level of your football knowledge and intelligence I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't know who he is.
Fox92 Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Shit's kicking off!! I hope Barkley doesn't leave for a "top" club though. We've seen in recent years that you'll not have a chance at a City or a Chelsea, just put in the reserves and forgot about. They have that much money they can sign competition whenever they want, see Rodwell and Adam Johnson.
Samilktray Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 If you took a simple question about a footballers past as an attempt at sarcasm & humour, I'm not sure its my intelligence that should be in question. But seeings as somebodies already answered my very simple question this is all very unnecessary.

I would rather spend the money on Kroos if he was available anyway, more of the midfielder Liverpool need.

Stick to thinking music is what makes the world go round.

I think saying Milner is harsh, he's certainly furthered his career at Man City whereas Rodwell and Sinclair have ruined theirs.

I would agree with that, I think Man City are a better side when Milner is in the side as well, adds more stability to the side, compared to when Navas is playing where they are more unbalanced with Dzeko/Aguero, Silva, Nasri and Navas all attacking footballers. Had a good game Sunday as well, got the beating of Flanagan.
RowlattsFox Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Think Barclay should have another season at Everton. He's shown glimpses but he's hardly been consistently good. Another years development will be good for him. They'll come a time though when he'll need to sign for a top club and have faith in his ability to get in the team.
Stadt Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 Hopefully Everton do get into the CL, it'll be good for him to taste playing against the elite.
Dan Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 I seriously am beginning to think Rooney's time in England's team is going to be coming down. If we're adopting a 4-2-3-1, where exactly is Rooney playing?

If we're adopting a 4-2-3-1, where exactly is Rooney playing? He can still play behind the striker in that formation or even as the striker. I don't think Roy would have the balls to drop Rooney anyway.
Dan Posted 16 April 2014 Posted 16 April 2014 He can play in many positions... I can name two. Both of them in the long-term to be taken by a better player in the respective position. If Barkley's as good as people are making him out to be then he'll have the CAM spot sewn up for years, and would you really play Rooney above Sturridge at the minute?
