ScouseFox Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 Just as interestingly why was Keiren Westwood so upset?! They lost a game big deal not like they've been relegated or face the death penalty. He looked like he was going to cry for about a week.
Guest ttfn Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 15 goals, a missed penalty and a red card in 5 games today. Boring hell. 15 goals should be pretty much par for the course. In fact 15 in 5.5 games is about average for the last 5 years.
Super_horns Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 http://www1.skysports.com/watch/video/8934362/di-canio-remonstrates-with-angry-fans What a bellend. If Nige did that i'd be ****ing livid. Well last week it was the officials, week before the players and now its the fans. Probably be the press next week..
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 He's a clown. After replacing MON with this guy they deserve everything they're going to get. The chairman does, the fans don't. Imagine if Rafa had dropped Mata. Exactly this! Savage made a good point on football focus this morning; imagine if Rafa had gone to Old Trafford and didn't play a striker, and imagine if he lost to Basel in the European Cup. I watched all of Chelsea's game today on tv, and most of, if not all, of it was boring. Mata, a player that has been their player of the season twice in a row and was one of the better players in the league last season, cannot get in the team. Just because it's Mourinho the fans seem to miss all of it. Rafa would be getting hammered. I don't like Chelsea and I don't want them to win anything, mainly because of the fans treated Rafa, as well as the fact they try and buy everything.
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 15 goals, a missed penalty and a red card in 5 games today. Boring hell. People would be loving it, if this happened in the Bundesliga.
Tom17LCFC Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 To be fair this weekend's been exciting. Doesn't detract from the fact that the prem's been fvcking shit so far this season.
Guest ttfn Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 People would be loving it, if this happened in the Bundesliga.Except of course, they wouldn't.17 goals in 6 games today is 2.83 goals per game. That equates to the amount of goals scored ON AVERAGE in each of the last three PL seasons. The very fact that you're holding up this average weekend as an example of how great and exciting this league is just goes to show how desperate you and Scouse are to be proved right about this and how little your protestations seem to correlate with reality. The start of this season has been boring as hell in the top flight. One average day doesn't change that.
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 I don't think it's the best league in the World, or anything like that. It's totally run by money, which is why you'll never see a team win the league without investment ie we get promoted, then what? We'll never win the league, we just have to go for the domestic trophies. But a lot of people say, 'oh this week was rubbish, lets go and watch a Bundesliga match' etc, which is why I posted that. Of course, I do think the Premier League is overrated and it isn't the best league in the World. Although this season might be a bit better because can anyone see an actual winner yet?

I agree with everything you've said in this post. But this season has been boring. The very fact that this is an average day but seems exciting says it all.
Finnegan Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 Three teams scored four goals in the Bundesliga today. Only two failed to score. No game had less than two goals. People don't rave about the Bundesliga for no reason, it is a good league. It's open, it's dynamic, it's got some great players and it's got a pretty competitive standard from top to bottom. I personally find it more exciting than the Premiership and more even than La Liga.

The start of this season has been boring as hell in the top flight. One average day doesn't change that. I was just making sure we had a state the obvious boring/not boring weekend comment because most only seem to comment when it's especially boring. Yeah we know 0-0 twice in a row is boring. Well today wasn't boring so thought I'd put a braindead, pointless comment about my lack of boredom in this thread just to take the piss. Just seems most (not necessarily you, not a personal assumption) cannot wait to tell each other how BORING THIS LEAGUE IS yet when there are exciting games (Norwich/Villa, West Ham/Everton were the two I watched today) nobody says much at all really. Just maintaining the balance.
ScouseFox Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 I like watching, and watch more, European football. French and German leagues get more airtime when I'm available to watch than ours does and I enjoy watching them a lot. I did watch a stream of most of Marseille's game today and it was 0-0 and boring as hell, and I had a Sociedad stream on behind my Everton one and that was even more boring than watching United/Chelsea repeatedly for about 9 days straight. Nobody mentioned that though.
Guest ttfn Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 I like the entertainment of the top flight. Normally it's not boring. This year it's boring.
Finnegan Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 Finners - you ****ing hipster I think football hipster would be trying to convince everyone I'm a student of the Belarusian second division and how entertaining it is!
AKCJ Posted 21 September 2013 Posted 21 September 2013 I think football hipster would be trying to convince everyone I'm a student of the Belarusian second division and how entertaining it is! Yeah, the Bundesliga is sooooooo mainstream

Fox92 Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 I love Baines, always have done. His free kicks yesterday were top draw, his second one was more of a chip. Aluko's goal for Hull was excellent as well. Great pull back and a great finish. If that's Messi or Ronaldo, it's all over the news.
Jimothy Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 It's a good job that curse isn't still going!

People would have gone "that's a good goal" like they've said for Aluko. It was hard to pull off and I'd question how many times he could do it again but it wasn't exactly an unbelievable worldy.
