Premier League 2013/14 Stuff it in here!

Have to say 4-1 massively flattered City.

Apart from the four goals I can't think of a single proper chance they created.

It was a tight game decided by five minutes of madness either side of half-time from United.

Smalling (at right back) and Young aren't good enough for United. Evra, Valencia and Ferdinand no longer are.

Well at least you made one valid point :)

lol

I watched the game with 2 Yanited fans so maybe I'm blinkered but I really don't think City created anything apart from their four goals (as ridiculous as that sounds).

Possibly the yanited fans. They impressed me I was just disappointed they didn't go for complete demolition at 4-0

Going back to your last point though, Valencia isn't fit for any PL team in my eyes, they so desperately need two wingers, if i was moyes i'd rather throw Januzaj(sp) on for a few games

People would be loving it, if this happened in the Bundesliga.

Not really considering you get more than that near enough every week. The fact it's come to bragging about 15 goals in 5 games says a lot really.

I think it's a silly debate anyway to be honest.

I honestly don't think the squad is that good. They need a goalscoring midfielder as well. Throughout the PL, Scholes scored for fun, Giggs, Cantona, Keane, Beckham would get a few but now I can't see them being a major threat from midfield... Even Fellaini played deeper today (used to be behind the striker at Everton, where he looks so better) and he was static for most of the game.

Better league?

He's a big fish in a small pond atm, could be a small fish in a big pond if he moves down south. (Could be seen as negative or positive really, but what I am saying is if he wants to better himself, challenge himself...)

And before anyone says it, even if Sunderland go down the above comments still stand.

Besides they are only in the Champions League to make the numbers up anyway.

However I do question whether he'd do much outside Scotland. Anyone could manage Celtic, even someone who doesn't understand football, I question how good of a manager Lennon actually is.

Now I have no axe to grind for Celtic, but that shows a stunning lack of appreciation for what Lennon achieved with Celtic in Europe last year (got past the group stages, took points off Barcelona) on a budget which is a fraction of those that didn't get past the group stages,or even of some clubs which didn't even make it into the group stages.

Realistically, United are not going to challenge for the league without buying a new winger, a new central midfielder and a new full back.

Valencia was a great player at one point but currently looks to be a shadow of his former self. Ferdinand likewise. Without Rafael, United have a lot of competent but no decent right backs. Carrick and Fellaini are ok, but Cleverley is an embarrassing first choice backup for the Champions to have (albeit he actually played ok today).

De Gea us a decent keeper. Vidic remains a complete monster. Rooney is looking more like his old self. Van Persie is the best player in the league. But the rest of the team isn't good enough.

Fergie's left Moyes with an awful mess to sort out. Only a genius like Ferguson could have got them anywhere near the title last season. Now, Moyes is left with a variety of average and past-it players, punctuated with occasional world class talent.

No surprise, once the initial momentum they got last season when he first joined went away and it came down to managerial ability I think he was in deep trouble.

I used to find him funny, now I just think he's a massive bellend and a very shit manager.

Wow I must be physic!

No surprise though, to be honest they never should have been appointed him in the first place he's simply to much of a loose cannon. The club would never have got stability under him, i can't imagine many Sunderland fans will cry many tears. Most will say "thank god"

Good luck to whom ever inherits that squad. Overhauled an entire squad with players from a hodge-podge of leagues and nationalities. Some good players if anyone can get them to gel quick enough. Slightly Italian-centric as well.

Ridiculous.

Why give him all that money and let him bring in 12 (?) new players only to sack him after 5 games.

Have you seen their next 5 or 6 home games? They'll be in the bottom 3 for a while yet.

Got a point there, it's going to be a tough start for the new manager. I wonder who broke the news to Di Canio?

Shocking from Liverpool Saturday, got to watch the game at work and we were bloody terrible. Never got out of reverse, let alone 1st gear. Still a mystery why Rodgers played 4 CBs but not going to moan about that, the players out there should still have beaten Southampton. Missed Coutinho massively, thank God Suarez is back!

Didn't watch the Manc Derby but even on the highlights United looked dreadful, suppose when you appoint such a negative manager, that will become installed into the players heads as well. I do think though this is the poorest Man United team in my lifetime, so that's saying something when I'm 23. I also think this is one of the reasons Ferguson left when he did, won the League with his worse ever team, no chance of winning the Champions League and could go out in all his glory. Remember in his little funeral speech after his last game his words were "give David Moyes time", he knew this team would struggle.

Apparently, it was their Italian director of football making the signings.

Hope he's got sacked too then. Astonishing that over the whole summer he didn't notice they don't have a recognised left back at the club. As good a job as Jack Colback is doing, he isn't a left back, he's a midfielder, and I can't believe that wasn't addressed over the summer. Di Canio can't be held responsible for that kind of thing if he didn't have a hand in the signings.
