ScouseFox Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Maybe they should have got sven instead then. Er, yeah, maybe.
Matt Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Wow, just switched the City v United game on. Did not expect to see that score. There was me saying it would be either an easy United win or a bore draw.
Jimothy Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Yeah but when Fergie lost that fixture he could point back to what, 2 Champions Leagues about 15 titles and God knows whatever else. Moyes has managed them for 4 months, missed out on every transfer target until he paid more than he needed to for Fellaini, has yet to put in a good performance and yet to pick a team that looks anything other than laboured and confused. I'm well aware of what Fergie won, sadly, I'm just saying get torn a new arsehole by a fellow title challenger isn't a indication of the quality of the manger, in fact Fergie can point to all those trophies, but his side still got dicked 6-1 by City, and he clearly wasn't a crap manager.

Moyes hasnt won anything......yet.

Yeah I get that, we all have bad days, managers get things wrong etc. But Fergie getting things wrong occasionally was accepted by United fans and football fans alike because he got one hell of a lot of stuff right for 20 years. Moyes getting a thorough going over by City is not going to sit well at all with United fans because he's got nothing to fall back on. They'll look at it and go "Jesus Christ that was woeful. In fact so was the game against Chelsea. And the game against Liverpool. And we made a meal of beating 10 man Palace at home too" etc. There's getting torn a new arsehole by title challengers once every 5 years or so and there's losing to Liverpool then getting annihilated by City two weeks later at the start of your reign as United manager. They won't sack him because they just won't, but he better find out a decent team, start playing Kagawa, pray RvP doesn't miss another minute all year and hope everyone else fúcks up a lot over the next 6 months if they're gonna have any chance of even challenging for the title.
Fox92 Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Just proves Rooney is world class for me. The whole team getting hammered, yet he pulls something out of nothing.
Libertine Dream Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 3-0 down and his substitution was to bring Cleverly on and leave Nani, Kagawa and Hernandez on the bench, just sums Moyes up. Against the better teams, they've been terrible and I think they'll struggle for top four from what I've seen

Expectations will always be high at Manchester United thanks to Ferguson and his unbelievable record. I bet there's just too many ManU fans out there who just don't remember what it was before SAF took over the reigns at Old Trafford. Anyone who expects Moyes to perform miracles and being able to live up to Ferguson's legacy in such a short amount of time is seriously deluded. Then again, I'm just glad they're experiencing a bad patch for once. It's gotten way too boring with the Premier League having been more or less a one-team show over the past ten, fifteen years.

Oh yeah I know the Utd fans will be pissed off, I would be, but my original post was clearly aimed at those calling Moyes crap, which one hammering doesn't prove. He hasn't had the best of starts, but following the longest serving, most trophies laden manager in football history was never going to be easy, Fergie had been there a lifetime! I think most true Utd fans know the value of patients and continuity, it's the millions dotted round the uk and the rest of the world who would struggle to pinpoint Manchester on a map, and chose their team based solely on who was winning stuff who'll get inpatient. When you chose to support a team based solely on which team is the best, it must get annoying when that's no longer the case
Leicesterpool Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 I won't be surprised if we hear Di Canio gets sacked in the morning. Di Matteo will be almost a cert to replace him.
Corky Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Fellaini's tracking of Aguero for the third goal was dreadful, just let him run through.
Vacamion Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 I won't be surprised if we hear Di Canio gets sacked in the morning. Di Matteo will be almost a cert to replace him. Internet boards up here suggesting Neil Lennon might be in the frame, although why he would leave a team in the Champs league for a relegation scrap, is beyond me.
Stadt Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 If you took Rooney out of that side and replaced him with someone average, that side is a mid table one, compared to the City side with so much quality in depth City were always going to win
Guest shearfox Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Just proves Rooney is world class for me. The whole team getting hammered, yet he pulls something out of nothing. United have two world class players and one of them wasn't able to play today... Moyes needed to do more business in the transfer window...
AKCJ Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Vincent Kompany. Absolute tank. If I were to sign anyone, it'd be him. Leader.
Stadt Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Vincent Kompany. Absolute tank. If I were to sign anyone, it'd be him. Leader. Could you imagine a centre back pairing of Thiago Silva and Kompany? That'd be solid.
AjcW Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Could you imagine a centre back pairing of Thiago Silva and Kompany? That'd be solid. To be fair the Vertonghen/Kompany one isn't looking so bad if you're belgian! I love this.. "On 7 June 2013, Kompany captained Belgium to a 2-1 win against Serbia in their World Cup qualifying match. He needed lengthy treatment after being clattered by Serbian goalkeeper Vladimir Stojković, but, with blood streaming from his nose, Kompany got himself bandaged up and continued playing for the remaining 60 minutes. Afterwards, he was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken nose, a crack in his eye socket and a mild concussion."
Guesty Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 I won't be surprised if we hear Di Canio gets sacked in the morning. Di Matteo will be almost a cert to replace him. My Sunderland supporting cousin has heard they want Di Matteo. Not sure I'd want to go there tbh. They look like Wolves part 2. A bunch of overpaid mercenaries. They'd probably have been better going down last year. Now Di Canio has bought in an extra 14 player who are average with big contracts and sold their good players like Sessenong (ignore spelling).
Guesty Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Was a pretty impressive break as well. To be fair the Vertonghen/Kompany one isn't looking so bad if you're belgian! I love this.. Better league? He's a big fish in a small pond atm, could be a small fish in a big pond if he moves down south. (Could be seen as negative or positive really, but what I am saying is if he wants to better himself, challenge himself...) And before anyone says it, even if Sunderland go down the above comments still stand. Besides they are only in the Champions League to make the numbers up anyway. However I do question whether he'd do much outside Scotland. Anyone could manage Celtic, even someone who doesn't understand football, I question how good of a manager Lennon actually is.
Matt Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Bloody hell, just seen Flamini being interviewed, he looks ill, looks Jaundice, he's yellow. Can't say i've really took much note before but has he always had that colouring to his skin?
Guest ttfn Posted 22 September 2013 Posted 22 September 2013 Have to say 4-1 massively flattered City. Apart from the four goals I can't think of a single proper chance they created. It was a tight game decided by five minutes of madness either side of half-time from United. Smalling (at right back) and Young aren't good enough for United. Evra, Valencia and Ferdinand no longer are.
