ealingfox Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 Are already sold out. http://www.bundesliga.com/en/liga/news/2012/0000256760.php Munich - Defending Bundesliga, DFB Cup and UEFA Champions Leaguechampions FC Bayern Munich have announced that all but one of their 17 home fixtures next season have already sold out. Only the game against 1899 Hoffenheim, which, like all the games, is yet to be scheduled, has not received more ticket requests than the Allianz Arena’s 71,000 capacity. That is only due to the fact Hoffenheim's place in the Bundesliga was only secured just over a week ago and tickets did not go on sale before then. Another sell-outFor the remaining 16 home games, requests “of between 80,000 and 140,000†tickets have been received, according to club director Jan-Christian Dreesen, who therefore expects the 2013/14 season to be another total sell-out.In the 2012/13 season, over 1.2 million spectators took in a game at the Allianz Arena, which opened its doors in 2005, and every single game Bayern played there in the Bundesliga last season was in front of a full house. Furthermore, Bayern’s fans also snapped up every available ticket for away games last term. Mightily impressive. Feel they could dominate Europe for years to come.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 From the wording I'm guessing it's not 100% season ticket holders. I wonder whether they try to make it so that people can at least get to one game, or if they prioritise those who are going to most - or try a difficult balancing act of both!?
Guest MattP Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 Glad I went to see them before they became 'cool'. No chance of getting a standing ticket now I bet.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 Going to be controversial and say they should put the prices up. When people are so desperate to watch a game and demand is that high then it makes economic sense to raise prices a little. Not much mind but even a small increase could raise revenues significantly over the whole season given the number of people watching. Helps the club become even more competitive in Europe. With prices as low as they are I can't imagine there'd be any complaint.

Harry - LCFC Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 fans would boycott. Would they? I know they've done it before in the past but is it so bad to have a ST that costs £115 instead of £104? I don't think it is.

Not sure why they would want to increase prices to be more competitive after they won it...how much more competitive can you be?
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 Not sure why they would want to increase prices to be more competitive after they won it...how much more competitive can you be? Well you're not going to win it every season but you give yourself a better chance. Tbh you're right they don't really need to do it as they're already the best team in Europe and it looks like that's going to continue. Even so I wouldn't be massively against a 10% price rise if my clubs was in that position.
ealingfox Posted 7 June 2013 Author Posted 7 June 2013 Can't help but hope Guardiola fails. Treble this year, strongest squad in world football with more stellar signings coming in, massive financial strength, fans queueing round the block, how is anyone going to stop them?

Yep, that's what German fans do. They are organised. The club won't do it though, they respect their supporters far too much.

Wasn't so long ago people were saying the same about Barcelona, 15/20 years ago it Ajax then AC Milan.
Guest MattP Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 Wasn't so long ago people were saying the same about Barcelona, 15/20 years ago it Ajax then AC Milan. Exactly, they will dominate Germany but the European Cup is always anyones, it's a cup competition.
ealingfox Posted 7 June 2013 Author Posted 7 June 2013 Wasn't so long ago people were saying the same about Barcelona, 15/20 years ago it Ajax then AC Milan. True but Barcelona never had a massive squad or the kind of secure financial strength Bayern have.

They obviously don't need to up the prices but choose not to, keep the fans onside and realise that they are crucial to the club.
Harry - LCFC Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 Where's the fun in that? Win more stuff (hopefully) with better players, paid for by higher revenues. Think about this way, extra £10 on your ST - let's say there are 60k STHs - so that'd be +£600k a game, 17 home games so a total increase in revenue £10m which would pay the wages for two very good players. Would I pay £10 a year for that? Yes, absolutely. I understand why people might be sceptical about prices rises but the one I'm suggesting seems pretty insignificant. Don't see why they should. They obviously don't need to up the prices but choose not to, keep the fans onside and realise that they are crucial to the club. I think we're exaggerating the impact of a 10% price increase here, it's £10 extra a year. That's pretty minimal, I don't see how the fans would no longer be onside if the price of watching their team went up by £10 a year. They don't need to of course but every ten million helps.
Bert Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 They've openly stated that they don't need the money.its purely about football to them.
Guest MattP Posted 7 June 2013 Posted 7 June 2013 They've openly stated that they don't need the money.its purely about football to them. Exactly. They deserve all the success that comes to them. You won't find 10 Japanese taking photos when Robben is taking a corner at the Allianz.

Forget Japanese taking them plenty of english fans do it...have to add it to the other 100 photos they have of the back of rooneys head.

Whilst what you're saying may make business sense, you're completely ignoring the fact that the German way (for once) is the right way to go about things. You're advocating something that they've worked very hard to stop. And it's not like your argument for doing so has any grounds as they clearly don't need the extra revenue.
